No

You have to consider that he's a very good returner, and will be cheap, and could do some of the gadget stuff that we did with Mecole.

I'm not opposed. Solves your KR and PR spots, give him some gadget plays here and there. Sure, why not?

We're good with Skyy and Toney for the McKenzie stuff. Need a real receiver, you know, what everyone in the NFL calls WR1;). Just playing with you Mr Meck.

Wisconsin_Chief 03-18-2023 08:04 AM

If he’s cheap why the hell not? He’s a nice player.

:D

I'd just rather not have Toney OR Moore returning kicks and punts.

For different reasons. :D

And actually, for some of the same reasons if we're planning on Moore being a bigger part of the WR corps, then I'd rather he didn't get hurt ****ing around tryna return punts.

Yup, I don’t want starters returning unless it’s in the playoffs.

McKenzie can provide depth and take over both return roles for dirt cheap. Bring him in.

Archie Bunker 03-18-2023 08:30 AM

With Toney’s health and not knowing what Moore is really going to become, he’d be a cheap insurance policy with some upside.

RealSNR 03-18-2023 09:07 AM

I kind of like the idea of ****ing the Donks with their own Donk trash that they couldn't make work.

Every win we got with Eddie Kennison tasted that much sweeter

Boxer_Chief 03-18-2023 09:10 AM

I know skyy had some huge blunders returning punts this season but man he had some huge returns in the AFC championship. Then toney again in the Super Bowl. If McKenzie didn’t succeed with Allen I just don’t think he’s that great or worth it.

Dunerdr 03-18-2023 09:22 AM

Would prefer Mecold to come back over this.

I would too, and I would think that happens, but who knows?

When Daboll left Allen stopped growing as a QB. Allen started off hot last year continuing Dabollism but then by mid-season needed that coach to grow him more and he didn't have that. I think more than anything because of the neutured state Allen was in, Allen and his new OC didn't know how to optimize McKenzie to the fullest IMO.

Agree on the Allen point but in 2021 with Daboll McKenzie had 178 yards and the year before 282. Just don’t see the upside there, even as a returner.

Allen's play was exceptional until the injury to his elbow---i think that had more to do with any drop off than losing daboll

He still turned it over at an above average rate. For all the comparisons that Mahomes gets to Favre, Allen is much more Favre like.

Rainbarrel 03-18-2023 05:28 PM

Russell Wilson was worse, at times, than Allen

Except Favre would have scored more than ten points against the Bungles.

Sorry, replied to wrong person.

Good God no

kccrow 03-18-2023 07:12 PM

Not much a fan of a 5'7-1/2" WR for any reason. Hell, at least Scott Miller hits 5'9" if we're going the route of speedy little guy that can maybe return, he's just less proven in that area.

By now folks should understand that Pat can literally change a receiver's life. Mckenzie had spells two seasons ago where he was tearing it up but for some odd reason he couldn't maintain that form. He's only 27 though and on a cheap one year deal what would we have to lose by bringing him into camp? His record is way better than Justin Watson for example and yet he did OK for us last year.

Megatron96 03-18-2023 08:37 PM

Doesn't fit the mold at all. What is he, Dante Hall 2.0?
