They very well may be banking on a full healthy season from Toney.

Of course you have to be an athletic freak just to make an NFL roster as a wide receiver, but people get college degrees in the length of time Hardman was in KC, and he still couldn't handle the mental aspects of running routes and catching a ball.

I think this is great news on a potential Elijah Moore trade! He's a definite Veach type of target. Looked great his rookie year and then last year was just a mess with the QB situation. I think he's definitely a good trade candidate and would do well here.

Given the numbers posted in this thread, they absolutely could have brought him back. I have to think the Chiefs just didn't want to bring him back bad enough. Unless he had already decided he was leaving no matter what. In either case, he's gone.

This team realizes they are going to be sending a receiver or 2 back for Rodgers, and getting Rodgers weapons is never a bad idea.

His injuries this year probably spooked a lot of teams.

In all reality you should be able to replace what Hardman does with a draft pick.

Corey Davis is almost guaranteed to be cut now. Moore is the interesting one. They could send him back in the Rodgers trade...or just out right try and trade him to another team.

He seemed to take a significant injury in the AFCCG making that heroic last play as a Chief.

Wish we could have brought him back at that salary, but I am sure Vern Beach knows what he’s doing

This. In that clip from the podcast, he says near the end that he was hoping to expand his role. He didn't come out and say where, but he seemed eager to be more than just a gadget receiver getting only 50-60 targets/season. Can't blame him really.

He never deserved a bigger role here. Just saying.

Barring injury to a top guy, he won't be getting that with the Jets either.

Well, we really don't know how they'll use him. But with Aaron coming in, it makes a lot of sense to surround him with plenty of weapons and see who clicks in which situations. Hardman could prove to be more effective than another Jets WR. We'll see.

You're looking at Wilson Lazard and Hardman because Davis is likely gone and Moore already wanted out so.

I mean at best he'll be #3 behind Wilson and Lazard. If they keep Moore, then he'll likely be behind him too.

Not that I see Hardman taking snaps/targets from Lazard, because they're not serving the same roles, but he ain't all that.

My only point really is that Hardman was kind of pigeon-holed in KC, and with a new OC and QB, he might find a larger role for himself. I'm just not counting him out.

What does he really bring though? He's fast and he's had about a 50-60% catch rate over his career. He's basically the same as MVS, at least the way I see it. Unless you're just saying you want 2 of those guys. Not sure I do but I could see it at least.
