Damn. Interesting. ****, those guys got some legit playmakers.

New World Order 03-22-2023 12:32 PM

So did he go to New York or Cleveland?

Dunerdr 03-22-2023 12:33 PM

Kind of sad he isnt back. I wonder if this ups the pressure to bring in a few bodies now.

Spott 03-22-2023 12:33 PM

JohnnyHammersticks 03-22-2023 12:33 PM

The Cleveland Jets are going nowhere with DeShaun Rodgers at the helm.

ToxSocks 03-22-2023 12:33 PM

Wait, what. Signs with the Jets...more speed for Cleveland's offense? Lol. Sloooow down, bros.

He ended up taking a 1 year deal afterall. He shoulda just stayed in KC.

siberian khatru 03-22-2023 12:35 PM

I would've been very happy to have him back on a 1-year deal. Wanted to see both him and Toney on the field at the same time.

-King- 03-22-2023 12:36 PM

Probably like a 4 mil deal with 2.5 in incentives

Damn. Dude got the same deal as Pringle lol

Dude could have easily gotten $10 mil had he played a full season. One year "prove it" deal coming off his first and only injury plagued season. That's unfortunate.

smithandrew051 03-22-2023 12:37 PM

I’ve never seen a guy so damn good at turning upfield on those jet sweeps. Tyreek included.

KC Hawks 03-22-2023 12:37 PM

Going from Andy Reid to Nathaniel Hackett should be good for him!!!

Wilson, Davis (figure he’s be cut by now if they didn’t want him), Lazard, Hardman

Yeah I’d be calling again about Elijah Moore

We should get a comp pick for him next year. Maybe a 5th or 6th.

Dunerdr 03-22-2023 12:41 PM

I wonder if Moore is part of the Rodgers trade, or the trade fell through and the unknown qb will have hella weapons.

For sure I'd be calling about Moore. It would just give the Jets another pick to send for Rodgers if they want.

Wisconsin_Chief 03-22-2023 12:42 PM

Well it's pretty clear the Chiefs had no interest in bringing him back, they easily could have afforded that if they wanted to.

Kind of a shame, he's had some memorable moments here. The worst part about seeing this team be so good is losing these guys who created so many of the memories. Best of luck, Mecole.

Seems like it.

Chiefs don't seem to be making anyone much of an offer.

They very well may be banking on a full healthy season from Toney.

AdolfOliverBush 03-22-2023 12:42 PM

Of course you have to be an athletic freak just to make an NFL roster as a wide receiver, but people get college degrees in the length of time Hardman was in KC, and he still couldn't handle the mental aspects of running routes and catching a ball.

MahomesKnows 03-22-2023 12:43 PM

I think this is great news on a potential Elijah Moore trade! He's a definite Veach type of target. Looked great his rookie year and then last year was just a mess with the QB situation. I think he's definitely a good trade candidate and would do well here.

Dante84 03-22-2023 12:43 PM

Given the numbers posted in this thread, they absolutely could have brought him back. I have to think the Chiefs just didn't want to bring him back bad enough. Unless he had already decided he was leaving no matter what. In either case, he's gone.

The Franchise 03-22-2023 12:43 PM

Literally Jet to the Jets.

Mecca 03-22-2023 12:44 PM

This team realizes they are going to be sending a receiver or 2 back for Rodgers, and getting Rodgers weapons is never a bad idea.

Corey Davis is almost guaranteed to be cut now. Moore is the interesting one. They could send him back in the Rodgers trade...or just out right try and trade him to another team.

Eleazar 03-22-2023 12:47 PM

He seemed to take a significant injury in the AFCCG making that heroic last play as a Chief.

Wish we could have brought him back at that salary, but I am sure Vern Beach knows what he’s doing

xztop123 03-22-2023 12:51 PM

It's possible he doesn't like the role the Chiefs pigeon holed him into and wants the chance to do more elsewhere.

I would’ve been very tempted to offer him something similar to stay, but it’s probably for the best. The last thing we need is another WR that we can’t rely on to be available.

This. In that clip from the podcast, he says near the end that he was hoping to expand his role. He didn't come out and say where, but he seemed eager to be more than just a gadget receiver getting only 50-60 targets/season. Can't blame him really.

Barring injury to a top guy, he won't be getting that with the Jets either.

Well, we really don't know how they'll use him. But with Aaron coming in, it makes a lot of sense to surround him with plenty of weapons and see who clicks in which situations. Hardman could prove to be more effective than another Jets WR. We'll see.

You're looking at Wilson Lazard and Hardman because Davis is likely gone and Moore already wanted out so.

Not that I see Hardman taking snaps/targets from Lazard, because they're not serving the same roles, but he ain't all that.

My only point really is that Hardman was kind of pigeon-holed in KC, and with a new OC and QB, he might find a larger role for himself. I'm just not counting him out.
