This is great. So glad Snyder is out of football.

Gary Cooper 04-13-2023 11:40 AM

Cool.

Will they be renamed to the Redskins?

BigRichard 04-13-2023 11:42 AM

I kinda hoped Dan Snyder would have went scorched earth and kept them named redskins and changed the mascot to a potato or something. Would have been hilarious. And I bet he would have sold a shit ton of merchandise.

LMAO. I kind of wanted him to continue to make the owners group lives miserable.

Marcellus 04-13-2023 11:55 AM

Let that be a lesson to you Dan Snyder!

displacedinMN 04-13-2023 12:00 PM

Nothing like making a man that everyone hates a multi billionaire.

(serious questions)
Does he pay capital gains on that too?
What happens if it is not re invested after two years.....

AdolfOliverBush 04-13-2023 12:00 PM

So where's all that dirt Snyder claimed to have on the NFL?

displacedinMN 04-13-2023 12:19 PM

I would like to know how much Magic has invested.

Sports players have a lot of money, but not enough to be a primary owner.

LoneWolf 04-13-2023 12:22 PM

With a minority in the ownership group, does Washington get an extra first round pick for the next 20 years?

He took a lot of his player money and invested it in scratch-offs and pick 5 lottery tickets. Must have hit it big.

srvy 04-13-2023 12:37 PM

Hmmm don't think Dan Snyder being an NFL owner has made any impact on my life. I have a pretty good feeling now that he is out he will still have 0 impact on it still.

Sorry so many here were affectedLMAO

The Snyder Saga is finally over!

smithandrew051 04-13-2023 12:52 PM

That’ll teach Dan Snyder a lesson.

Now all he has are his billions of dollars and other assets. LMFAO!!! What a broke sad bitch!!!

Sassy Squatch 04-13-2023 12:52 PM

Hmm. Both Rapoport and Schefter saying this isn't quite done yet and there are still other interested parties

So he bought the Skins for $750 million and sells them for $6 billion.

Good thing the NFL taught him a lesson.

I learned you can be a sexist douchebag when you got the big Benjamins.

Yeah, the ROI for some of these team owners is incredible.

Jerry Jones paid about $150M in 1989 for the Cowboys, Bowlen bought the Broncos for like 70M.

Almost as funny as lying to an entire board about taking a girl to Belize complete with stolen pictures off of the Internet because no real woman would dare to be alone with you.

Incentivizing teams for promoting/hiring minority candidates is stupid. Teams should be doing that anyway if the minority candidate is the most qualified. It's almost like patting a guy on the back for paying child support. You're supposed to do that and you shouldn't get extra credit for doing what is expected.

He's got a net worth of at least $600 million. Not sure all his theaters are worth that much anymore, but he's been an active investor.

I get that you like the status quo and change scares you.

Pretty much textbook conservative personality traits.

Prick goes from buying the team for $800 million to getting $6 billion.

The hiring of Paul Hackett’s idiot son tells your faulty premise to go **** itself.

Why? Were you there for his interview with the Broncos? His shitty performance doesn't mean he didn't interview well and the Broncos didn't see him as the best candidate. The Broncos had just had a minority coach that sucked donkey balls so their hiring practices when it comes to minorities shouldn't be in question.

Years and years ago I remember reading an article about how the cost of buying an NFL franchise had gotten to the point it had made it almost impossible for it to be profitable for 30-40 years. I believe a team at the time had sold for $500MM or something like that which was an all time high. They were comparing it to how cheap franchise had been in the decades previous which were really cheap comparatively.

That article was obviously dead wrong at the time, the money grew so fast it was impossible to lose $ at any point.

Now this scenario, I'm not sure how long its going to take to make $6 Billion back. Its an interesting question to ponder. If you profited $100 Million a year it would take 60 years. So $300MM a year you get a return in 20 years? $600MM a year in profit to return in 10 years? It would take a huge ROI annually to get there.

What's the interest rate on this capital? Surely they are borrowing a ton of $$.

Edit: Ironically it may have been about when Snyder paid $800MM for the Redskins in 1999. Seems that investment paid off.

Your philosophy about not giving a shit about anybody that exists outside your skin is certainly admirable.

So, I hate to break it to you. But the ownership group probably didn’t pay 6 bills in cash.

Debt/financing is gonna multiply their ROI.

Do you even capitalism, bro??

I don't fret over things I have no control over. But you can certainly worry about those things. In the end, it will only lead to you stroking out over things that you never affect nor will be able to control.

Seems he made a hell of a profit on the investment, he wins. I still don't care and it has no impact on me or my life. Why worry jealous?

Apparently the proposed sale seeks an indemnification for Snyder. The indemnification would be between Snyder and the Harris ownership group. That is, if there was litigation against the Washington team based upon Snyder's actions, Harris would be prevented from coming against Snyder. Very interesting,.
