And there it is, they did use the Elijah Moore pick.

The Franchise 04-24-2023 02:23 PM

Get ****ed Buffalo.

Hoover 04-24-2023 02:24 PM

Good deal.

I'd hate to have to give them a 1st next year, but oh well.

The Franchise 04-24-2023 02:24 PM

So after all of that...the Jets get nothing if he decides to retire after this season.

Pitt Gorilla 04-24-2023 02:24 PM

Nice.

Hard to tell which team got ****ed harder.

Gravedigger 04-24-2023 02:25 PM

Good, seeing the Jets and the Packers fail after this trade will make me happy again.

Has to be. Which...why wouldn't he? He has weapons around him now and a defensive minded coach that will get out of his way.

Why Not? 04-24-2023 02:26 PM

Great! The Jets, Dolphins and Bills can all beat the shit out of each other and we can take care of the leftovers.

They also still have a 1 that will likely net them either Paris Johnson or Broderick Jones.

Good. Jets and Miami will give Buffalo all they can handle. **** Buffalo.

Should propel them to a 3rd place finish in their division.

Pretty sure Namath already said he could have it.

Rodgers is about to ball out in a big way. He thrives on vengeance and his number one goal will be to make the Packers look stupid for trading him. Would love to see an A-Rod vs Mahomes AFC title game.

FloridaMan88 04-24-2023 02:30 PM

Chiefs at Jets will not be a Sunday 1:00 p.m. Eastern kickoff game.

Iconic 04-24-2023 02:30 PM

All that to get face ****ed in the playoffs by Mahomes... if they even make it that far that is.

If they had a competent QB in 2022, they'd be a playoff team. Their defense was very good.

I would need someone to explain to me how this doesn't move them ahead of the Bills and Dolphins...

They were right with those teams most of last year with maybe the worst QB play in the league.

Red Dawg 04-24-2023 02:38 PM

Pats officially will be last ion the division.

BigRock 04-24-2023 02:39 PM

I wonder what hurts worse for the Donks, seeing the Jets pull off the Hackett/Rodgers scenario they couldn't, knowing they gave up way more for Russ than the Jets did here, or just knowing that Rodgers thought the Jets were a less embarrassing franchise to play for.

Going to be interesting to see what happens if they have a poor start to the season.

If you're 2-6...do you sit Rodgers to avoid giving up a 1st?

That team is good enough that all Rodgers will have to do is not literally shit his pants and they'll win 12 games.

Megatron96 04-24-2023 02:42 PM

Told ya so.

NYJ probably wins the AFC-E this season. Man, it's kind of crazy just how fast things can happen in the NFL. NYJ is going to be in the playoffs in 2023.

Gary Cooper 04-24-2023 02:44 PM

It's only a good deal if their GM doesn't **** the picks away like he tends to do...

Like hey Quay Walker and Devonte Wyatt were 1st round picks of the Pack last year and they suck shit.

chiefsfaninky 04-24-2023 02:47 PM

Jets bent Green Bay over, and ****ed them hard...Packer fans must be going WTF.

I keep looking at mock drafts and thinking, "Why in the world did the donx send the #5 pick to Seattle?" Then, I remember and smile.

When was the last time Rodgers didn't shit his pants?

He's not in the NFC North anymore. Two games against Buffalo and two against Miami. Plus primarily AFC opponents, and assuming he even gets to the playoffs, the likes of Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert, Lawrence and Allen to contend with.

And let's not forget that he's a shitty teammate and leader. And a ****ing loon on top of it all.

Another colossal mistake by the Jets.

It’s good for us. By the time seasons over those teams are going to be beat to hell.

I would agree. Allen seems to be in a decline, Diggs is not happy with watching confetti from the other team's victory fall every year, they don't have any type of running game, and their defense has lost key players and wasn't that good to begin with, at least at stopping the Bengals or the Chiefs.

I think they're still a weapon or two off, Garrett Wilson is a good young WR, Mecole hasn't shown to be much more than a gadget, Allen Lazard is a good #3, but I would put him in the same category as MVS. Their OLine is notably in the bottom half and they have a defensive minded head coach who's going to put his faith into Nathaniel Hackett. This has all the makings of an attempted Rams or Bucs team. If Rodgers can not turn the ball over and the defense with Sauce can keep shutting down offenses, they may be able to bring it all together and win now, but I think this move puts them in the playoffs, but doesn't guarantee more than a divisional round appearance. What I like for them is that they not only got Rodgers, but they swapped their first round pick and can still get a top tier WR for Rodgers or more OL help in the draft, that was a good move for the Jets.

Mecca 04-24-2023 02:51 PM

I get it he's old, he's also been playing with terrible weapons for a long time and the guy is a HOF player so this idea that he blows is weird to me.

Obviously but it is a win when you get rid of drama. Also Rodgers is old, he takes one good hit he maybe done for.

As far as the Jets go, it's a brand new season and alot can happen to that defense. Wouldn't be surprised to see a regress.

Mecca 04-24-2023 02:52 PM

Last year in what was considered a bad year for Aaron Rodgers..

3,695 26/12 with spending most of the year with a broken thumb.

If he has that exact same year, that's a playoff team.

Now they have to deal with resurgent Miami AND NYJ teams, as well as deal with Bellicheat and the cheatriots.

Dak Prescott in Dallas? Been a lot of movement by veteran QB's lately.

Mile High Mania 04-24-2023 03:00 PM

Doesn't look like a bad deal for the Jets. Only stepped back 2 spots in R1 and if it goes the way they hope, it's a late R1 in 2024. Lose a R2 - no big deal really.

So, no mention of Green Bay eating part of Rodgers salary. I thought that would be part of the deal. Probably why the compensation wasn't as high as expected.

It looks like a better deal from the Jets side of it compared to what Denver gave up for Russell.

scho63 04-24-2023 03:10 PM

The Jet's fans are beating off with a confused mix of anger and hope. It's a messy operation that ends as well as their seasons over the last 54 years. Tissues and Tears of failure.

A 2nd rounder and a future first that's likely towards the back of the round is not really all that much for a qb just removed from MVP seasons. Jets were essentially committed and had no other options, better for them to get it done now than in three months.

That 13 & 15 swap might not seem like much, but could be the difference in a 1st round grade and 2nd in this draft.

BossChief 04-24-2023 03:17 PM

That’s a pretty fair deal when you look at it through a desperation lens to try to have any chance at beating Mahomes in the playoffs.

DJ's left nut 04-24-2023 03:24 PM

The AFCE getting stronger is nothing but good news.

Especially when Rodgers is good enough to give Buffalo a hard time but not so good that he makes me think NYJ are legit contenders.

Jets franchise is an even sadder version of Chiefs pre-Mahomes. Even making noise for a year or two would be big for them. Jets fans are still living on two years of ****ing Mark Sanchez.

notorious 04-24-2023 03:32 PM

The amount of anger I would have if the Chiefs handled Mahomes like the Packer handled Rodgers.........

Chieftain 04-24-2023 03:47 PM

Packers did well with this trade. Played hardball until the very end and made a difficult GM like Joe Douglas give leeway. Rodgers doesn't have a whole left to give and he might even retire after the season. Desperation move by the Jets to go all in for a run. Seems logical on paper but let's see how it works out on the field.
Remember, Fraudgers had an equally stacked team playing in a lesser conference and chocked like a outstanding citizen at home to the whiners.

kccrow 04-24-2023 03:51 PM
