Look at how GM's think

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Former Cardinals G.M. Steve Keim to <a href="https://twitter.com/dpshow?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@dpshow</a>, explaining why he&#39;d still take Kyler Murray over Nick Bosa: &quot;Kyler got me an extension. Nick Bosa probably would have gotten me fired.&quot; <a href="https://t.co/v2i6CdBpyj">https://t.co/v2i6CdBpyj</a></p>&mdash; ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) <a href="https://twitter.com/ProFootballTalk/status/1650951618525904896?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 25, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

And this is why you can never just expect the logical move or you know hindsight.

I mean, yeah.

Carl Peterson kept his job for nearly 20 years by fielding a competitive football team that rarely ever made it past the Divisional Round.

O.city 04-25-2023 03:18 PM

I mean...people wanna keep their jobs and we're shocked?

MahomesMagic 04-25-2023 03:19 PM

It gets even worse when coaches and owners get involved....

kcclone 04-25-2023 04:00 PM

Unless a GM has a long history with an owner, keeping their jobs will always be a consideration.

He thought drafting a QB would get him fired...

Titty Meat 04-25-2023 04:30 PM

Isn't the OP 1 of those clowns who thinks the refs rig games? Look at how other people think lol

We’ve been complaining about Carl Peterson since America On Line…and for good reasons.

Percy Snow
Harvey Williams
Greg Hill
Trezelle Jenkins
Jerome Woods
Victor Riley
Sylvester Morris
Ryan Sims
Glen Dorsey
Tyson Jackson....a few good picks in there as well, but an astonishing number of 1st rnd tragi-comedy picks for a team that many wins in that era. Just a slightly above average scouting dept. would have helped Marty get his Lombardi

The refs stopped rigging games once they realized that they can't beat Mahomes and Kelce and Jones. The games are clean now, and the Chiefs saved the sport of football.

Yep.

Every fan wants to win a Super Bowl but actually winning one isn't what keeps them watching. It's actually the opposite - it's the perpetual hope followed by disappointment that keeps people engaged. Especially if their team gets CLOSE but falls short, like Bengals or Eagles fans.

You realize Cardinals fans know they aren't winning one right?

Steve Keim is a sentient ballsack.

Ballard is Exhibit B.

tyton75 04-27-2023 02:57 PM

in fairness.. if you had 2 QB's you wanted to draft and they were equal in talent... and you find out that one of them had a party that none of his teammates wanted to attend; wouldn't that be a slight red flag?
