Unless a GM has a long history with an owner, keeping their jobs will always be a consideration.

Every fan wants to win a Super Bowl but actually winning one isn't what keeps them watching. It's actually the opposite - it's the perpetual hope followed by disappointment that keeps people engaged. Especially if their team gets CLOSE but falls short, like Bengals or Eagles fans.
