Look at how GM's think

And this is why you can never just expect the logical move or you know hindsight. |

I mean, yeah.
Carl Peterson kept his job for nearly 20 years by fielding a competitive football team that rarely ever made it past the Divisional Round. |
I mean...people wanna keep their jobs and we're shocked?
|
It gets even worse when coaches and owners get involved....
|
Unless a GM has a long history with an owner, keeping their jobs will always be a consideration.

We’ve been complaining about Carl Peterson since America On Line…and for good reasons. |

Harvey Williams Greg Hill Trezelle Jenkins Jerome Woods Victor Riley Sylvester Morris Ryan Sims Glen Dorsey Tyson Jackson....a few good picks in there as well, but an astonishing number of 1st rnd tragi-comedy picks for a team that many wins in that era. Just a slightly above average scouting dept. would have helped Marty get his Lombardi |

Every fan wants to win a Super Bowl but actually winning one isn't what keeps them watching. It's actually the opposite - it's the perpetual hope followed by disappointment that keeps people engaged. Especially if their team gets CLOSE but falls short, like Bengals or Eagles fans. |

Ballard is Exhibit B. https://twitter.com/zkeefer/status/1...0%2Fframe.html |
in fairness.. if you had 2 QB's you wanted to draft and they were equal in talent... and you find out that one of them had a party that none of his teammates wanted to attend; wouldn't that be a slight red flag?
