Hopefully they see enough from the rooks to cut CEH today.

jettio 05-06-2023 09:08 AM

That App State Kid Andy Hardy must have had a huge NIL deal from the Estate of Mickey Rooney.

No need to cut him, there is no real cap savings. He will be what Ronald Jones was last year...inactive every week, just there in case of emergencies.

Clyde could be traded, but not enough cap savings to release him.

He had 6 TDs on 88 touches and no fumbles last year with decent YPC and YPR.

You should watch Chiefs games.:titus:

There's about $865K in savings, enough to sign a rookie UDFA. But I'm in agreement, there's no need to cut him unless one of the UDFAs is Pacheco 2.0.

Balto 05-06-2023 09:36 AM

Well I'm sure Veach would just trade him for a 2024 7th, which I'm guessing multiple teams would do, instead of cutting him. This would actually save a little over $2M in cap versus just releasing him.

Hey now, Jones was good for one carry a game.

Should we expect updates or no media?

Kiimo 05-06-2023 10:51 AM

We should expect updates that say someone is "blowing everyone away" as they run in shorts against air.

TRR 05-06-2023 10:52 AM

With Burton signing in Denver, I wonder what the plan is for FB. They do have a small school tryout FB coming in this weekend. Would have loved to see them draft Hunter Luepke in the 7th round this year.

Our fullbacks rarely get any snaps, just use Bell when we need some beef back there

Has anyone ever done a QB sneak with a fullback? I think we could be the first.

I think between Andy & Patrick, the rules change to focus on passing the FB position is going the way of the dodo bird. I wouldn't be surprised if FB & TE position were merged into a hybrid.

FBTE?

We call that position the Kris Wilson.

I foresee moving a tight end to full back. Imagine bell back there 10x through the season then the 4th quarter of a tie game kelce takes the spot with mckinnon behind him. Both take off on a route to opposite sides. Some line backer goes cross eyed and mvs catches a wide open 40 yard toss to the red zone.

Unless you're going to use the FB as a bowling ball type blocker, I agree. We have 2 TEs on the roster (besides the 4 we carried last year) that are good size. Blanton is 6'6", 262 lbs and Bushman is 6"5", 245. I love the TE in motion wham block.

When Brett Veach told Andy Reid he did not have a Fullback for him, Andy said this -

Quote:

“Are you telling me for the last 24 years, I did not have to have a Fullback? I’ll tell you, it’s awesome. I’m not sure it’s completely settled in… we all know that it’s not a one-man show. It takes a team together. Not just the players, not just the coaches, everybody. But not having to have a fullback, think of the things I can do with the plays. This is going to be tremendous!”

The rookies have officially landed in Kansas City ahead of the Chiefs’ rookie minicamp this weekend.

One of the first processes that the incoming draft class goes through is getting fitted for their equipment. The team released a video of a very excited Rashee Rice trying on his helmet for the first time.

The second-round draft pick out of SMU first picks up the helmet looking at it and chuckling to himself in disbelief. Then he gets a chance to try that bad boy on, which is when the dream really starts to set in for the rookie receiver.

“Yeah, I like that,” Rice said to the equipment staff. “Y’all like that? I love it, I love it. I don’t think I want to take it off.”

“What’s that feel like, Rashee,” asked the Cameraman.

“Man, words cannot explain,” Rice responded.

A pretty cool moment to kick off a weekend that is sure to have a few of them. It certainly won’t be the first time that a player realizes that their dream of playing in the NFL has finally arrived.

Helmet safety and protect the player but seems like that face mask has a lot of bars for a WR. Won't it hinder vision?
