You believe everything you read on Twitter smh
|
Hmm. Guess we're going to see how much DET has actually improved. They looked pretty tough in their last six or so games, especially on defense. And didn't they have a pretty good draft on that side of the ball?
Good thing they're a NFC team. Andy usually feasts on NFC teams. |
No chance

This account correctly leaked the Lions schedule last year
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="ro" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/LIONS?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#LIONS</a> 2022 SCHEDULE:<br><br>1: vPHI<br>2: vWAS<br>3: aMIN<br>4: vSEA<br>5: aNE<br>6: BYE<br>7: aDAL<br>8: vMIA<br>9: vGB<br>10: aCHI<br>11: aNYG<br>12: vBUF <br>13: vJAX<br>14: vMIN<br>15: aNYJ<br>16: aCAR<br>17: vCHI<br>18: aGB<a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/OnePride?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#OnePride</a></p>— ʟɪᴏɴ ᴋɪɴɢ (@LionsRoyalty) <a href="https://twitter.com/LionsRoyalty/status/1524811696279195660?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 12, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
I bet they don't

NFL is dumb if true. I don't mind but not near the splash as Denver or San Diego.
|
No they aren't every year yall fall for the fake schedules
|
Lulz
|
According to that guy we play:
1 - vDET 2 - vPHIL 7 - vCHI 9 - vMIA 10 - aLV 11 - BYE 12 - vBUF 13 - aMIN 14 - vLV 15 - vDEN 17 - vCIN Make of that what you will I guess if you think he's legit |
Hmmm
|
What do you think, Clayster
|
What a shitty thing to do to a bannerless club

Just give us the late bye week
|
As if the NFL makes this the opener.
|

Just saying, we shouldn't expect it to be some kind of cakewalk if they play like they did in the last month or so of the 2022. |

Holy shit OP, you think the nfl schedules the defending champs to play a meaningless matchup to start the year?
You’re better than this. |
My guess is the Chargers for Week 1.
Buffalo makes sense, but they did the opener last year. Philly won't happen because they don't want a SB rematch Week 1. |
I know it's looked like it the last couple years but damn....our schedule is gonna be super tough this year.
We'll still probably go 14-3. |
Hard to believe. The last few years they wanted top tier teams playing each other in the opener.
|
It does seem odd that we'd play DET in week 1.

Meh, I can wait until the official schedule comes out vs a leaked one.

If it’s real don’t the Lions have lots of suspensions? Are they season long or weeks? Could be a good time to play them if the latter.
|
Yeah that's the only issue I see is that Jameson Williams is suspended. Otherwise I could see it, that offense is super legit. Beast of an offensive line and great skill position players. Great bet for a high scoring game.
|
Lions turned into a good team the second half of last season. We'll put them off to another bad start.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when the NFL says 'indefinitely,' that's usually a year. |
Last time Detroit played at Arrowhead… Trent Green vs Joey Harrington… it’s been a minute.
|
Detroit makes sense. The kickoff hasn’t been a rivalry game or one with a narrative, not counting Bears-Packers for the NFL 100 season, since Giants-Cowboys in 2012.
They put a game they hope is going to be competitive, but not a game with any buzz. The first game doesn’t need any buzz; almost every Chiefs game has buzz. Bears would be a good pick, if that game isn’t in Europe. |

I didn't want to play a real team week 1 anyway. Remember that time Alex Smith and company spoiled NE's banner night? That was amazing!! But now that the shoe is on the other foot... eff that. LMAO

I feel like you guys don't watch football. Detroit would be a fun matchup to kick it off. They really played well at the wnd.
|
Yes, confirmed by everyone - they play Detroit on Thursday. Some really dumb people on here.

Would be cool if we were on the road for week 1. Then get to hoist the banner in Arrowhead on week 2 with the Eagles on the other sideline….

This shit is so stupid, just release the ****ing schedule.
|
Makes no sense at all.

Quote:
The biggest issue with the Lions is that they're perpetually waffling between worst team in the league to "almost there". Kind of like the Browns. In general, I hope this next season is the year they put it together and make some waves in the NFC playoffs, but would rather their season get on the right track after week 1, obviously. |

Nothing was confirmed until the NFL or chiefs post it. The chiefs posted it this morning. |

Wow we play on Christmas Day against the Raiders. Wondered for years why they didn’t put Mahomes on Thanksgiving or Christmas Day.
It’s a Nickelodeon game though |

We play 16 and 17 at home 18 on the road Remember there are 17 ganes and a bye |
he updated it and took off some stuff so idk
https://i.imgur.com/rhmUVXe.png i hate the nfl so much for making a schedule release into an event. i get why they do it but they are such ****ing assholes |
Quote:
I expect them to be fired up and give us a game, but Campbell/Goff aren't coming into Arrowhead and beating Reid/Mahomes. |
Quote:
1) Momentum doesn’t carry over from the following year. 2) They lost Jamison to a BS suspension. 3) Lions draft was terribad. Spend 1sts on a RB and LB and other miscues. They’ll probably win the North, but only because the division is bad. 35-20 beatdown. |
It's a great opportunity for the Lions to set the tone for their season. In someways I view it like when we opened the season vs the Patriots in 2017.
Now I think playing the Lions is perfect, because the advantage of opening your season on Thursday is you get a little mini bye which I think is an advantage. I'd rather see an NFC team get that then say the Dolphins (That is the season opener if I'm the NFL). |
Quote:
Ravens/Broncos Pats/Steelers Broncos/Panthers (SB rematch) Pats/Chiefs Bears/Packers (non-SB winner for the NFL's 100th season) Bucs/Cowboys Rams/Bills Chiefs/Lions Which of those games looks different from the others?? |
Quote:
I get they've turned the NFL into a 12-month thing to be talked about, but it's not like people will suddenly forget it exists if they just released the ****ing schedule all at one... and unless there's some monetary benefit of these "leaks", I don't really see the point. |

So in all seriousness, this is pretty cool for the Lions but the lights are going to be way too damn bright for them. Feels like the league is giving us an opening week showcase game to just steamroll an up and coming team and show how dominant we are. Detroit doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell to win this one.

Gonna find out quite a bit about Smith and Taylor at OT as they go against that Lions front, particularly James Houston IV who broke out in the 2nd half of the '22 season.

Still can't believe we didn't poach him from the Lions practice squad. |

Chargers maybe, but I doubt anyone wants a division game to start the season? |
With Dan Campbell being an energy kind of coach I fully expect the Lions to come out swinging. Theyll probably go for any 4th and short. Winning this game could be a trajectory changer for them on the season.
