Dan Snyder officially out of the NFL
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">A monumental Washington day: NFL owners now have unanimously approved the $6.05 billion sale of the Washington Commanders from Dan Snyder to a group led by Josh Harris, per league source.</p>— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1682130421360852994?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 20, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Curious to see what laundry he airs now.
|
Pathetic but I doubt he cares.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">In Dan Snyder’s 24 seasons as owner, Washington had six playoff appearances, two playoff wins, no NFC Championship Game appearances, 10 different head coaches, 27 different starting quarterbacks, and a .427 winning percentage, which ranked 27th in the NFL.</p>— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1682131072178438145?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 20, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
LMAO More starting QBs than seasons.
|
The Commanders just traded their 1st and 2nd round pick for a running back in his honor.

This dramatically lowers my chances of ever being in a room with a reluctantly naked NFL cheerleader.
|
Josh Harris owned the 76ers when they tanked on purpose to rebuild the team...hrm...

Now if we could only get rid of Roger Goodell.
|
I mean after decades of incompetence and egregious misconduct he walks away with billions.
It's everything wrong with sports. Bad owners should feel some hurt when they do a shitty job. It might motivate to actually at least try to put a good product on the field |
"Approved $6.05 Billion sale..."
Yeah, the NFL sure showed HIM... |

Now don't get me wrong, figures that large carry debt service, but they also get VERY good rates of return. 800 million at 10% would double roughly every 7 years and so he actually yielded LESS than a 10% annual ROI (which would've yielded in the $9 billion range over his 25 years of ownership) But that also assumes only break-even revenues on a year to year basis and that's almost certainly not the case. Now a 10% ROI isn't easy to get, but remember what they say - "How do you make a large fortune? Start with a small one..." When you starting with $800 million in liquidity, it's more doable than you realize. |
Gruden is also lurking in the shadows ready to go scorched earth. Could be very intredasting soon
|
Harris also owns the Devils. He is a great owner that isn't afraid to spend money.
First thing he needs to do is change the team name. |
It's gonna be funny when they tank super hard for like 3 years to rebuild the team...
I think they should change their name to the Washington Whiskies. |

I always thought the best name for a team in Miami would be “The Miami Mang”…a la Scarface 😂

The new guy did his research for sure
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Josh Harris just called into the show and said he has heard about our parties at Old Ox and the Bullpen tonight. <br><br>AND HE BOUGHT EVERYBODY AT BOTH PARTIES A BEER. <br><br>I do not recall Dan Snyder doing that. <br><br>What a day.</p>— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) <a href="https://twitter.com/granthpaulsen/status/1682149136412360706?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 20, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |

Bring back the Redskins.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">There’s a ‘pretty good chance’ the new ownership of the Washington Commanders will change the franchise name and have a ‘complete re-branding’ of the team, per <a href="https://twitter.com/DVNJr?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@DVNJr</a><br><br>(via <a href="https://twitter.com/RichEisenShow?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@RichEisenShow</a>) <a href="https://t.co/nHL5USBSrX">pic.twitter.com/nHL5USBSrX</a></p>— Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) <a href="https://twitter.com/BleacherReport/status/1682216855073869825?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 21, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |

He's an incredible piece of shit, but I'm sure there are multiple NFL owners that are. They're just not as stupid as Dan and get caught. |
F that bring back WFT best name in the history of the league
|
So, magic johnson is part owner.
How much does he really own? NBC is interviewing him and not the person with the deep pockets. Hmmm. That is all the more into politics I will take this thread. |
Quote:
Harris' slice will obviously be the biggest, and he stands to have a 30 percent ownership stake in the franchise. The rest will be divided among his 17 limited partners, including Los Angeles Lakers icon and NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson and billionaire businessman Mitchell Rales. The latter's share will be 12 percent with Johnson set to hold four percent. |
wow 4%
And he gets an interview on NBC |
After finding out that he was fined $60M by the NFL, the $.05B part makes more sense. It looks like he added that in just to get the new ownership to pay most of his fine.
|
60 M helps pay for the new Bills Stadium

So the absolute worst of the worst floor is average profit and the ceiling is massive riches. gotta be one of the safest investments imaginable. There's gotta be some skin in the game for owners. Cities shouldn't be handcuffed to the owner who has no accountability for bad performance. |
I'm happy for Washington fans. Snyder was the worst owner in the NFL without a doubt.
|
Don't worry, Detroit. All you need is for the Ford family to murder someone them thumb their nose at the legal process and there's an outside chance you might finally get an owner who knows how to win.
|
I’ve got a lot of family in the DMV who were huge Redskins fans who had completely checked out over the last decade. I haven’t even heard anyone talking about this much, but I know everyone is happy.
I hope they change the name to something better and right the ship a bit. They don’t bother us much in the NFC East and they’re more likable than the Eagles or Cowboys. |
Whatever the new name is, they need to keep Major Tuddy.
