Nah, we don't need to pay top dollar for any running back.

xztop123 08-01-2023 04:57 PM

Can he play dt?

Kiimo 08-01-2023 04:57 PM

Pipe dream. If the Chiefs can't afford Hopkins they aren't paying a running back with dollar signs in his eyes.

And Deneric Prince is all the thunder we'll ever need.

Bowser 08-01-2023 04:58 PM

If he comes here, I'll cheer my freaking head off for this guy and laugh at the league as they try to deal with Mahomes and Taylor with a legitimate play action option/threat.

But my initial reaction to this thought is "why, though?"

no shit. Since when do we need RB’s? Especially disgruntled RB’s who wants to be paid.

lcarus 08-01-2023 05:49 PM

If Taylor was a free agent who wanted to sign for 2 million per year or something...it MIGHT be a possibility. But to have to give up assets in a trade AND deal with a RB wanting to get paid top dollar? There's just no way in hell.

It'll be someone stupid and desperate. Like Denver or Dallas.

tredadda 08-01-2023 05:59 PM

Is he getting cut? Does he plan to lower his salary demands? No way I am trading for a RB who wants to get paid. Last year should’ve shown what we can do with what we have. But for click bait purposes, I guess KC can get linked to every non QB offensive player out there.

I don't know about that but Herman Moore was seen at a Best Buy in Leawood!

Hoopsdoc 08-01-2023 06:10 PM

Lol.

Taylor will play for the Colts or no one this season.

Word is he’s looking for 16-20 million per year on a long term deal.

No team is dumb enough to trade draft picks for the opportunity to give him that.

I think I read somewhere that this guy is the best RB in the league so I’m sure it would be a great addition.

There is no chance in hell Taylor is coming to the Chiefs. None. Zilch. Notta. Almost less than zero.

what is top dollar for a RB now anyways? 3 years $36 mill or something around those lines would be my guess.

Statistically, KC needs RBs to score TDs. Last season KC WRs scored 15 TDs. RBs scored 26. And the prevailing theory is that RBs are the primary scorers in this offense moving forward. "Cheat code" and all that.

So, from a statistical standpoint, we could use another top-producing RB.

though not for $16-$20 million/year. I doubt he'll ever get close to that kind of $$$.

About 33 mil more than Veach should ever be paying for a RB as long as Mahomes is under center. Just keep taking late round and UDFA running backs every year that will run their ass off for a chance to play on a SB roster. Spend $ on offensive line, receivers and pass rushers.

DrunkBassGuitar 08-01-2023 07:56 PM

I don't think so Tim

Why Not? 08-01-2023 08:04 PM

YES!!!!! The missing piece!!! Chiefs definitely have proven they need a first round RB to win championships!!!!!!!!

RealSNR 08-01-2023 08:06 PM

Yeah, and there was that time just last year when an NFL defensive coordinator said Mahomes is a Tier 2 QB who only plays street ball.

There are dozens of ****ing clueless people in the league who make shit up to compensate for their lack of credibility or competence.

Same thing goes for the thousands of douchetards with a laptop and a twitter account trying to get "scoops" for news.

This dude was the NFL rushing yards leader and the NFL rushing touchdowns leader in 2021… I’d love to see what Mahomes could do with an RB duo of Pacheco and a guy like Taylor who led the NFL in two important statistical categories less than two years ago.

People just can't seem to believe that our front office, scouting, and coaching is so in synch that KC can draft, develop, and win without chasing names.

Never thought we'd be rejecting RBs of this caliber, looking back at the Cassel years. Amazing how our priorities have shifted and just how 'set up' we really are as a team. Just need CJ signed.
