2023 Chiefs BOLD Predictions thread

Lets hear 'em

a few of mine

The Chiefs only carry 2 QBs on the active roster this year (Mahomes and Buechele) cutting Gabbert costs nothing in dead money. Carrying 3 QB's ties up a roster spot that could be used to retain depth at WR/CB/S/DT. We all know Buechele is making the roster - the question really comes down to are we going to eat a roster spot for a 3rd QB.

CEH gets cut (or traded) and the Chiefs roll with 3 RB's to start the season(Pacheco, McKinnon, Perine). $800K in dead money but $1.7M in savings and with trying to make a Chris Jones deal every penny saved is going to count.

The Chiefs will carry 7 WR's on the 53 Man roster (Toney, MVS, Moore, Watson, Rice, James, Ross.). Smith-Marsette will try and get snuck thru waivers along with Crawford and Powell. Remigio will be put on the IR.

493rd 08-20-2023 08:14 AM

Rashee Rice takes the league by storm and has 1000 yards and 10 TD.

Womble 08-20-2023 08:18 AM

The AFC Championship game will be played at Arrowhead stadium.

Hog's Gone Fishin 08-20-2023 08:21 AM

There's a new QB rule implemented this year but I'm not up on it. Something about carrying a 3rd QB that doesn't count against the 48 er sumpthin.

Anybody clarify ??

yeah doesn't count against the active roster IIRC - still takes a roster spot for a position in need of depth

Camp darling Prince to the PS

stumppy 08-20-2023 11:23 AM

Hmmm, that's a bit tricky. About any BOLD prediction any NFL fan could make about their team would be just a regular run of the mill, prob gonna happen prediction about the Chiefs.

Our QB will win the MVP! uh.....probably.
We'll win the SuperBowl! Pretty good chance.
Our QB will win the SuperBowl, the SuperBowl MVP, and the reg. season MVP!

That last one is pretty BOLD prediction for anyone..........except us.

Ain't that sweet!:D

Here's one that is a little BOLD. Chris Jones will win DPOY

Still not really all that bold. He was in the running last year, albeit probably third place after Bosa and Parsons, maybe another guy I’m not remembering at the moment.

Chargem 08-20-2023 11:28 AM

Is this bold enough?

The Chiefs have an 75yd+ Rushing touchdown this year

ThaVirus 08-20-2023 11:28 AM

Something bold would be likeeeee.. idk..

Toney plays 14+ games. Or Rashee Rice leads all rookie WRs in catches, yards, and TDs. Or Pacheco leads the league in rushing yards.

DJJasonp 08-20-2023 11:34 AM

x-factor will sneak into Arrowhead for a game.......but an unfortunate choice in costume (Chiefsaholic) gets him arrested by the FBI.

Actually highly plausible

KC_Lee 08-20-2023 12:17 PM

KC has 3 players with over 1000 receiving yards, Kelce, Rice, MVS.
Skyy Moore has over 1000 all purpose yards.
Toney remains oft injured during the regular season but becomes a playoff God with over 700 AP yards in the playoffs.
KC's Oline gives up a record low number of sacks

Wisconsin_Chief 08-20-2023 12:21 PM

Chiefs will win the vast majority of their pro football contests.

Buehler445 08-20-2023 12:22 PM

Jones doesn’t play and forces a trade. We have to roll with the ****all we have at DL.

We score 627 points this year and knock the Chesting ****ing Donko Bitch****s off the top for most points scored in a season. **** Donk Forever.

Jewish Rabbi 08-20-2023 12:25 PM

I will still prefer the Chiefs over other NFL teams

BWillie 08-20-2023 02:32 PM

Richie James leads WRs in receptions.

Juwann Taylor looks like one of the best tackles in the league.

Chammari Conner earns starting spot by seasons end.

Chiefs open a 40 lb box of rape on the NFL.

Again.

Hayneplane 08-20-2023 03:17 PM

The NFL players finally recognise that we are not just a 3 man team and show some love to our interior O-Linemen in the top 100 list.

The Franchise 08-20-2023 03:28 PM

Outside of Kelce, the Chiefs don't have a 1000 yard receiver. They do however have multiple players in the 600-800 yard range.

What’s bold about that?. I reckon that’s close in line with most fan’s expectations

We are definitely a 3-man team. You put Mahomes, Kelce and Jones on 90% of teams and we are Super Bowl favorites.

There's no future dead money, but most of Gabbert's salary is guaranteed. It's only a $1 million, and it's wouldn't be the first time we've eaten a guaranteed salary, but it wouldn't be free.

DrunkBassGuitar 08-20-2023 03:49 PM

Kc sweeps the division

E: for some reason I thought that didn't happen last season lol so much for that being bold so ill say perfect season

Rainbarrel 08-20-2023 04:58 PM

I would predict fans will forget OBJ was on this team. Except I don't remember his position or what OBJ stood for already

Piggybacking onto this, Gabbert's entire cap hit is guaranteed. We'd be paying that amount of money regardless of if he's on the roster or not. For that reason and the new 3rd qb dress rule, I feel like he's very likely safe.

gordonelloyd 08-20-2023 07:23 PM

Given the Situation, and the change in rules, it would make sense to keep three quarterbacks.

You never want to run into what San Francisco ran into last year..

Coochie liquor 08-20-2023 07:40 PM

Not a BOLD prediction. But KC goes 20-0 and wins the SB on back to back years!

shitgoose 08-20-2023 07:59 PM

Mahomes - QB sneak for a game winning TD in the AFCCG

The change in rules doesn't change the number of players on a roster (53). There are some big decisions coming up if we are to keep 3 QB's

frozenchief 08-20-2023 10:33 PM

Our defense is a top 10 defense in points allowed. I think they’ll give up yards but not points.

RunKC 08-20-2023 10:50 PM

The only 1k receiver is Kelce, but Rice shows an incredible amount of talent and promise to be a future true #1.

The only double digit sack artist is Chris Jones, but FAU gets 7-8 sacks and shows he is on his way to being one in year 2.

This will be the best OL Patrick Mahomes has ever played behind.

JPH83 08-21-2023 02:30 AM

Think I agree with most of the positive predictions here - we're winning every game, mark it. BUT, a "bold" prediction on CP feels more like a less than optimistic one. So with the expectation of being downvoted to oblivion, here's mine:

- We are worse at running the ball and are genuinely bad at it (it won't matter)
- CEH continues to be a (bad) feature of the offense for the whole season
- Smith is a downgrade on OBJ (but mainly in the run. I didn't like OBJ at all but he was wildly underrated here by some)
- Conner remains mainly a ST guy and doesn't look like Sneed 2.0.
- Bryan Cook is a downgrade on Thornhill (at least Thornhill during the run-in)
- The defence isn't better than last years and one of Watson, Williams, McDuffie has a sophomore slump

The offense is obviously going to kill it, I also could see a better ST performance given how many f***ing ST specialists Toub has now. The defence has a lot of potential but

Pretty much all focused on D and I'm not sure I believe the last one, flame away.

Tribal Warfare 08-21-2023 04:16 AM

Chiefs will go undefeated which includes winning the SB.Thus, making Mahomes the GOAT and distancing himself from Brady

Coogs 08-21-2023 05:03 AM

Rice, Ross, and Kelce all go over 1000 with Kelce in 3rd. Not because of Kelce slowing down, but because opposing DC's force Mahomes to go elsewhere more than last year.

Pacheco runs for 1200.

BleedingRed 08-21-2023 07:18 AM

Justyn Ross ends up #2 in Targets on this team

We still have depth holes at other positions we need to figure out - the dress rule doesn't change the 53 man roster -

QB - Mahomes, Gabbert, Buechele
RB - Pacheco, McKinnon, Perine
WR - Toney, MVS, Moore, Rice, James, Watson, Justyn Ross
TE - Kelce, Grey, Bushman
LT - Taylor, PTW, Morris
LG - Thuney, Allegretti
C - Humphrey
RG - Smith, Kinnard
RT - Morris, Niang

Total = 26

FS - Edwards, Cook
SS - Reid, Connor
LCB - McDuffie, Williams, Jones
RCB - Sneed, Watson, Boye-Doe
SLB - Tranquill, Chanel
MLB - Bolton, Cochrane
WLB - Gay, C. Christainsen
RDE - Karlaftis, Danna, Herring
LDE - Omenihu, FAU, Kaindoh
DT - Jones, Nnadi, Wharton, Shelton

Total = 26

Thats 52 players without the specialists - so which 2 do you remove?

Couch-Potato 08-21-2023 11:42 AM

Last season only MVS and JuJu had over 500 yards as WRs, this year my bold prediction is that we'll have x5 WRs with 500+ yards.

MVS, James, Toney, & Rice + either Moore, Watson, or Ross

Lol, Skyy Moore has some work to do. So far five people have predicted that Rice will go over 1,000 yards receiving but not one person has predicted it for Moore.

My bold prediction: Ross has more yards and TDs than Rice and James combined.

Probably one of the back up linebackers and I don’t know which one. And then one of the back up corners, Boye-Doe.

With Sneed's knee issues you are potentially thinning the CB room to 4

As we head into the 2024 season the Chiefs wide receiver room will be considered one of if not the best in the entire league headlined by Toney, Moore, Ross and Rice. Mark.It.Down. All 4 of which are on rookie contracts.
