Initial Waiver Wire claims to end in five minutes…
Good luck BV! (Sucks being at the end of line for the first 3 weeks. That rule needs some modification imho. ~ Title edit: Initial 1st day period ends, not begins.)
|
Whose going? Hailassie and Boye Doe I reckon, Cole Christiansen, Kinnard. Could see quite a few

The Chiefs are planning to sign cornerback Reese Taylor to the practice squad, a source told The Star. As I mentioned yesterday, Taylor has been lining up primarily in the slot during camp/preseason.
|
Buechele is gone for sure. Shitload of teams cut QB's. He'll go to NE.
|
Slow going thus far

Rush has some real high end athletic traits..

So Rush is on the 53?
|
No surprise, Austin Reiter going to PS
|
Yeah if we lose Hailassie getting a 6"2" guy who runs a 4.3 might take the sting out of it (!). Seems a good developmental option.

Got beat out by the 7th rounder Jaylon Jones. |
Who's getting entirely too wealthy Chris Jones

Rush has a pretty great RAS.
https://twitter.com/MathBomb/status/...798400?lang=en Chiefs coaching >>>> Colts coaching |
So we basically traded a UDFA CB for a drafted CB..no one else got claimed lets see how many end up back here.

But yes, very good athlete n |
Like the Rush get. Was intrigued by him as a 3rd day pick and was surprised he went as late as he did.
|
Colts are cutting 5th round picks before they even step on the field in a live game?
What a shit bag organization. |
Chiefs signing Deon Bush and Danny Shelton to their practice squad.

Yeah

The Cardinals claimed 6 players...
Also another drafted CB Kyu Blu Kelly who went in the 5th to the Ravens was claimed by Seattle. |

If it’s one thing that Veach knows….it’s DBs.

Was really hoping someone like Maurice Hurst falls into our lap
|
So Trevis Gipson went unclaimed.

Did they say who was cut to make room for Rush? Or was there already a roster spot open?

So that should've opened a spot. |

i took Rush I believe in the 3rd round in the mock draft we do here. I really like him, elite athlete and just needs to be coached up.

Fell because he didn't seem to know how to play football. Got drafted at all because he looked like someone that SHOULD be able to play anyway. Then he continued to look like someone who didn't know how to play football. He just never got any better. A hybrid of Herring and Kaindoah might be decent. Herring has no tools, Kaindoah has no instincts. As it stands, I wouldn't bother with EITHER guy on as much as a practice squad. |

It's a group of guys they NEED to have out there during the week giving looks to the guys on the roster. They need those bodies out there who can be a reasonable proxy for NFL competition. I don't honestly think the Chiefs believe Powell will ever amount to anything. They're not keeping him with the expectation that he's going to suddenly become a top 3 or 4 receiving option. They're just keeping him around because he knows where the dining facilities are and when practice starts. He's a guy they can toss out there to give McDuffie some reps. Think of him as a AAAA player. Teams don't keep those guys around because they expect them to make a difference in the show. They keep them around because SOMEONE needs to play catch with the blue chip phenom in the bus leagues that they hope to have on the squad soon. And like any minor league team - some guys are Nuke LaLoosh - others are Crash Davis. Some of these PS guys they keep because they hope they can contribute in a big way some day (Remigio might be an exmaple). But Cornell Powell is 'organizational depth' as they say in MLB. He's Crash. He's here on inertia and familiarity. |

I do still wonder what happened with Russell. That was insane. |
I haven't found anything saying a team has claimed Shane Buechele, anyone else aware of it?
It's a shame those interceptions were not his fault and it caused him to drop off the table. Anyone disagree? |
Quote:
The first interception was absolutely brutal and 100% his fault. And he spent the entire pre-season throwing hospital balls. Against a backup that gets your WR killed. Against a starter it gets you picked off (and did). He doesn't read the play quickly so his timing is a step behind. And it gets his receivers murdered - at best. He'll have plenty of 'drops' that turn into INTs because he's throwing to guys as their window is closing rather than opening and creating exceptionally high degree of difficulty catches that often yield bad outcomes. At this point he's in his 3rd season in Reid's offense. If his processing is still this slow, it's going to stay this slow. He's a non-entity. I'd bring Oladokun back before Buechele. I don't understand the fascination with the guy. I don't think he'll ever be as much as a regular backup in this league. I just don't see anything to him. |

If they want a young backup they'll have to actually use a pick on one instead of trying to find undrafted guys.

Shane got his shot and I didn't see the necessary development. It's Oladokun's time, IMO. Give him his shot and if he doesn't develop, onto the next guy. |

How do you develop 2 PS quarterbacks? Unless they actually prefer Shane but he's exploring other alternatives, in which case I actually expect they'll cut Oladokun loose after Shane comes back. But as previously mentioned - I hope they just like Oladokun better. If that's the case, I doubt they want Buechele back as well. |
