Those Browns, and just think they even had Johnny Football and blew it!

34 years WOW!

Rain Man 08-31-2023 08:06 PM

I hadn't yet bought my Pontiac Fiero when the Browns last won their division.

Jewish Rabbi 08-31-2023 08:07 PM

I’d kill myself if I was a Raiders fan TBH

smithandrew051 08-31-2023 08:07 PM

I really enjoy seeing that so many different teams have lost a postseason game to the Chiefs recently.

That playoff losing streak seems like ancient history right now.

What was your life like when the Raiders last won the division?

I remember going from age 8 to age 23 without a Chiefs playoff appearance. When they finally made it, I was ecstatic even though they got blown out by the Jets.

The Jets.

irafreak 08-31-2023 08:29 PM

Interesting that 3 of the 4 teams in our division went to the superbowl the last time they won the division

I was winning games on the sandlots. But Al didn't draft me.

They're the factory of sadness for a reason.

Buehler445 08-31-2023 10:16 PM

I didn't realize it had been 12 years for the Giants and ****ing 3 for the Condoms (sp?)

That's fairly embarrassing.

scho63 08-31-2023 10:46 PM

The 80's for the Browns exemplifies their shit organization.

AussieChiefsFan 08-31-2023 11:20 PM

The Browns holy shit.

Strongside 08-31-2023 11:26 PM

Whole lotta “lost to the chiefs” on that list.

I would run onto the field during a Raiders game and slit my throat at the 50 yard line!

lawrenceRaider 09-01-2023 04:47 AM

Stupid Jack Delrio still rolling Carr out when the game was won, and still throwing the ball is the only reason the Raiders last AFCW title isn't 2016.

ChiefEd 09-01-2023 04:59 AM

I was working in the same business when the Browns last won their division…. Damn, I’m old…

MVChiefFan 09-01-2023 06:29 AM

The Chiefs out there just destroying dreams! What an amazing time to be a fan.

2bikemike 09-01-2023 06:34 AM

Wow interesting info. Man the level of stuck for the Browns and Lions is astonishing!

Rainbarrel 09-01-2023 06:49 AM

I wonder if that's all Deshaun Watson's agent said in negotiations. 1989

I would like to raise a point of order -

The Browns of 34 years ago are now the Baltimore Ravens. The current Cleveland franchise has never won their division.

What makes their suffering worse is that the Browns did win 2 SB's........as the Ravens.

Red Dawg 09-01-2023 08:34 AM

Lions and Browns? Holy crap that's pathetic.

What?

No. That is incorrect. The Browns franchise was made inactive and the Ravens franchise was constructed as a brand new franchise.

That is how the NFL handled it.

Spott 09-01-2023 08:42 AM

To be fair, Cleveland deserves the suckage.

You sure about that? I could have sworn that all of the old records/stats and affiliated players are part of the Baltimore franchise recorded history.

DJ's left nut 09-01-2023 08:47 AM

I don't think I realized it until a week or so ago, but did y'all know that the Chiefs only actually won the AFC West three times under Marty?

For all the talk of 'the streak' that went on in the 90s, that team was CONSTANTLY a bridesmaid. It seemed really cool to me at the time but man, hindsight (and Andy Reid) sure make that appear really mediocre.

Nope, he's right. The browns kept the rights to the name and history of the franchise

I believe he’s right. I think Cleveland kept all their records, and Baltimore is considered a different franchise. I’m guessing the Ravens were happy to let go of everything that happened in Cleveland.

Raiderhater 09-01-2023 08:56 AM

Verified, I had it wrong. Baltimore's website doesn't list any individual team records prior to 1996. And their ring of honor doesn't include any of the old Browns players. Though, interestingly enough, it does include old Baltimore Colts players. What a screwball way to do things.

Gary Cooper 09-01-2023 10:57 AM

The Lions and Browns have an entire generation of fans that's never even SEEN a home playoff game. Think about that.

As bad as the Chiefs were before Mahomes, they had numerous home playoff games, albeit all losses between 1995 and 2017.

I remember pre Patrick many believed Reid was a post season choker. What a difference a QB makes

I honestly don't know if that was better or worse. At least Lions and Browns fans didn't regularly have their brimming-with-hope souls crushed regularly. The best part of adding a game to the regular season is that we'll never again be 13-3 going into the playoffs. :banghead:

frozenchief 09-01-2023 12:24 PM

Raiders, Browns, Jets, and Lions - pictures of futility.

It's surprising to see how many teams have won their division in the past 10 years. League is generally pretty equal. At least, it was until a certain Patrick Mahomes II entered the league. If you haven't heard, he plays for my favorite football team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

redfan 09-01-2023 03:21 PM

The Browns suffer "The Drive" in '86-'87 only to be beaten again by Elway again in '89.
That might be worse than No Punt, Luck Recovers TD, or Mariota's Self TD.

Which is asinine. The Colts are a completely different franchise.

It is like if the Texans honored the Oilers players.

jerryaldini 09-06-2023 10:28 PM

The Browns did have their moment when they won the division four times and went to three AFCCG in the late 80s. But of course with Marty as coach for most of it they would blow those games with the Broncos. I rooted hard for those Browns teams, but it was sweet to see the Donks get blown out in the SB three times during those years.
