It will be pretty incredible if he plays this year. Their offensive line is still awful though.

Aaron Degeneres

Kinda hope he plays 4 more downs and then blows his other Achilles.
|
Seems like a smart move for a 40 year old to rush back from a torn achilles to play for a team is essentially out of the playoffs.
|
I mean, not going to hurt my feelings if he ends up destroying the rest of his career rushing to play behind this sieve of an OL they have but for ****s sake, isn't there anyone with common sense.in that org?

I'm sure it's funny but your gonna have to spell it out for me. |
No way that was a full tear and he's going to play.

Not sure that thing can be torn so easily with that type of support. However his other foot having to maintain the brunt of the work could easily be next. |

They're hoping Rodgers can win some games giving the fan base and ownership hope for next season. "See, it was the QB!" |

Will definitely be interesting to see if someone can come back from that procedure in so short a time frame.

Yeah I have a hard time believing it was a full tear. Especially after he already lied about being immunized and all that. He pretty clearly has a thing for wanting to be smarter about science and medicine than everyone else. Hard to believe he'd come back far faster than any pro athlete in history for a team that is out of the playoffs.

It has to have been a partial tear. No way a 40 year old comes back to play professional football in a matter of months. Something is fishy. |
I don't see how any good can come from this. The jets aren't making the playoffs and there is no way he's going to be 100%.

This seems to be a high risk - low return move.
|
He's not playing in anything meaningful, this is a sell job by Woody Johnson to keep the fanbase excited about next year. Gotta sell those seats to high price Jets games somehow.

I hope mushroom Aaron lose every game he plays in and new York fire him.

He is a weird dude, but I'm sure his mother loves him.
|
No way does he come back. I'm hoping they win, so that they can't use the excuse of "no reason for him to risk it for a team out of playoff contention."

Used to see it as SOP in the Chicagoland market. Rinse and repeat. |

As fast as he comes back, is exactly how fast he leaves. At his age, he is setting himself up for a career ending injury. This is STUPID on his part. But, YOU do YOU!
|
EVEN if he comes back and is successful, the Jets are not even remotely in contention for a successful season.
|
I’m unable to generate even the smallest bit of interest in the latest installment of “past his prime QB tries one last grasp at cash and glory with a crappy team”
|
So they're the 15 seed, 2 games out of the wildcard.
Sounds like a good idea. |
Not sure why Rodgers is rushing back, given the state of the Jets season, unless he's just trying to make a point, and I don't necessarily put it past him to do something like that.
10-7 may get you in the dance if you can get some help. Jets have 7 losses as I type this and will probably have more by the time Rodgers returns. All they're doing now is hurting their draft position, and risking next season should Rodgers re-injures himself again, which would be the most Jets thing ever. |
i ****ing told you all, if he plays, he faked the injury, somehow :thumb:
|
Odds are this turns out bad. If he pulls it off good for him.

The unparalleled Ray Ratto on Rogers’ return:
“Shame on you for thinking it'd be somehow "humorous" if Rodgers is cleared to start against the Commanders on Dec. 24, the first game after the 21-game practice window closes. You must be a low sort of person to get enjoyment out of a hypothetical scenario where the Jets win the toss and elect to receive, and on his very first play from scrimmage since his injury, Rodgers drops back to pass, and tears his Achilles again. Oh, you think that's funny? You think it's funny that a man's hubris could lead him to force his way back onto the field well before he's fully healed, and he tears the same tendon, as all common sense said he would? You think it's a laugh riot? That the tear is even worse this time? That his tendon snapped like a rubber band? You're sitting there having a giggle as Aaron Rodgers is writhing in pain on the turf, wondering if his career is over, and CBS's sad injury music starts playing, and then they smash cut to that commercial that goes "WHOPPER WHOPPER WHOPPER WHOPPER"? You sicko, now you're probably thinking about whether it'd be even more funny, or slightly less funny but still very funny, if Rodgers returns and tears his other Achilles.“ |
