Fine them both 10k and move on. At the end of the day, the NFL will not want too much attention on this--they like some attention to keep interest, but not too much to ruin the reputation of the shield.

I disagree. While Mahomes may have been directing his outburst towards the official, I really think he was indirectly letting his team have it. He has personally taken the blame for teammates mistakes time and time again. A trait that is very admirable. But it’s time for everyone to step up their game. His outburst was justified in my mind. Letting the ref take the brunt of his frustration was the way to do it IMO.

You know one crew of refs think another crew is stinking it up. Or the human condition for refs has evolved. Don't see it

I went to suspension because outside of an especially ludicrous fine in the millions of dollars (which the NFL has never fined a single player) it's all a drop in the bucket.

Disagree. PM has enough status to call out any player any time. If he was doing that, he wouldn't go at it sideways. He'd say it to whoever's face, one-on-one, or in front of the whole team, and to the media if need be.

I get the frustration by Mahomes. Dude's been trying to make chicken salad out of chicken shit all season, but the refs called it regardless. Focus that shit on your idiot WR's who keep making game-changing mistakes.

Maybe the reason frustration has boiled over is that it's obvious to him that these receivers can't do the job. No matter how much he coaches them or motivates them, they just are not good enough.

He picked a bad play to blow up over, but the refs have been atrocious against us this year.
It’s plain as day that they are only looking for penalties against us and in that focus are not paying attention to any committed against us. Every play of ours is examined under a microscope by officiating crews and other teams are not.

I keep thinking about the play, early in the game, where Mahomes throws a pass, gets taken down to the turf, and a Bills D lineman pulls Mahomes' helmet from the front half off his head.

Mahomes is on the ground with this helmet nearly pulled off and no call.

This would lead to some extreme frustration if I am him after the offsides call.

This is what I worry about.

If that "fire" had been confined to the sideline outburst, sure.

But in 20 years we don't have a clip of Brady shaking the opposing QB's hand and saying, "worst ****ing call I've ever seen" and being a sore loser over it.

And I'm having a hard time thinking of a press conference where Brady doubles and triples down, all while blasting what was a blatantly CORRECT call on the field.

It was a bad look for a lot of reasons, and I have no doubt he'll learn from it and turn that fire to positive energy.

In another game, Brady literally stalked the referees into the locker room screaming at them about a call late in the game.

Bill Belichick literally grabbed an official to scream at them after a call.

MICHAEL JORDAN stalked a ref on a court and cussed them out to their face in the middle of the court. .

We need to take a breath. Competitors compete. It’s part of who they are. This will pass. As quickly as McDermott’s love letter to the 9/11 hijackers did.

The worst part about this loss is we won’t get a chance to get the stink off until the playoffs. The next four games will do nothing to change the current season’s frustrations and failures.

There's "being vocal" in a productive way, and then there's screaming at an official and needing to be held back on the sideline in a way that we'd all regard as terrible sportsmanship if it had been Josh Allen or anyone from another team.
