What were you doing in 1985?
Edit: That was the year Todd Blackledge got his first start for the Chiefs. Chin up everybody, it could be worse.

Wasn't it 1995?
|
Money for Nothing is such a good song, Mark Knopfler's guitar tone on that song is incredible
|
I was too busy jerking off to think about much else. Apparently the Chiefs WRs have the same issue.
|
I was thinking that Ethan Horton was way too tall to be an NFL running back.
|
Born in late November of 1985. I was hanging out in Mom's womb for a good chunk of that year, lol
|
They were last called for an offensive false start in 1995… Jeff Criswell vs the Faketriots.

Just to cover our bases, in 1995 I was paging through my draft magazines saying, "Trezelle who?"

I dunno, I bet the 85 answers are more fun.
|
It was a terrible August in 1985… I was 14 and could not accept the fact that Roth was no longer in Van Halen.
|
I remember it well. I was sitting there thinking, "Man, what kind of idiot literally lines up in the neutral zone on the offensive side of the ball? I bet that only happens every 20 years, or so!"
Just for fun, did you guys notice that it was called in the Sunday night game last night? |

I was just learning the art of fap.
|
1985? Shitting myself and crying all night and day most likely.
|
Actually, this time of year in 1985 was very eventful for me. I was about to finally move out of my parents' house to get my own place (well, with roommates), and I was interviewing for jobs that were finally going to pay me a living wage. Ethan Horton skepticism aside, morale was riding high.

Five years out of college, programming Cray-1 and CDC Cyber 6600 computers. Working with state of the art graphics displays and plotters. The PC was a toy back then.
I went to a number of those Chiefs games where the club level was wide open. Best memory (probably not 1985) was the freezing game against the donkeys where their coach accused the Chiefs of running up the score. Went to a Royals playoff game against the Blue Jays; the one after George Brett went ballistic. |
I was taking chicks to Belize

Working at my 1st real job out of college.
Had my own apartment and was having fun with my gf Lisa. She was cute and had nice boobies. Bought a muscle car. 1972 Buick GS. Had a 455 and drank gas like a gasaholic. Fun, though. Discovered some great restaurants and bars in the Plaza and Westport areas. Dark days of Chiefs football, but the Royals kicked ass! |

I had been married to the love of my life for 8 months, had just celebrated my 29th birthday and was lamenting I was headed to my 30's.
I had just taken a job with Tallgrass Technologies...which was my first foray into the computer world. I watched the Royals win the World Series that year and was thinking we might have our own dynasty. I was thinking most of the music being put out was not worth listening to...with some exceptions. Also enjoyed all the Top 10 movies except for Teen Wolf and Legend. Really liked Silverado and Pale Rider and still will watch them on a non football Sunday from time to time. Hard to believe the number of actors in Silverado went on to make some really good movies. |

1985 was one of the best years of my life.
I got contact lenses that spring, which I wore for the next 30 years before having to switch back to glasses. I never looked so good those three decades. A great summer: I worked a summer job mowing a cemetery, was actually easy money. I got back together with the girlfriend I had dumped a few weeks earlier. We married 7 years later and are still married today. The Royals won their first World Series. |
Burying my Dad.
|
I was a wide-eyed 5-year-old crying because I couldn't get my ears pierced like my older sister.
It was a good miss. |
