First round opponent scenarios
We are locked into the 3 seed so what are the scenarios for the wild card game? Who do we want to play?
|
Hoping Buffalo loses next week and other teams win to knock them out of the playoffs.
I’d like the Colts or Texans. |
Miami, Buffalo, or Indianapolis.
EDIT: Or Houston. |
Colts or Steelers or Texans.
Not Dolphins or Bills. We’re rooting for Miami next week. |

Just need any two of the 9-7s to get to 10 wins or do we need certain teams to get 10 wins to knock the Bills out? |
Yo Gabba Gabbert and the scrubs time next week.
|
I prefer the Colts because we still owe them a few playoff losses. Don't know how realistic that scenario is.
Don't want T.J. Watt against our O-Line. I know we owned them several years ago but the Chiefs offense was much different back then. The Steelers are the luckiest team I've seen. Somehow they won 9 games this year. Buffalo and Miami are scary because of their firepower. But neither team is great on the road. I'd rather not face them though in the first game. |
Anyone but the Colts. Weird shit always happens with them.
|
Stolen from the Bills forum.
They need one of the following to clinch the playoffs: Bills WIN or Pitt @ Balt (Pitt loss) or Jags @ TN (Jag loss) or Texans @ Colts (Tie) |

So for the Bills to miss the playoffs they have to lose. But also Jags have to win. If those things happen it doesn’t matter if Colts or Texans win that game then the Steelers have to win their game. But for whatever reason playoff machine shows Bills as the 7th seed with a loss by the Jags.
It’s actually not that likely we face the Bills. If they win they are the 2 seed. If they lose it looks like best they can do is 7th seed. |
If the Bills beat Miami, we're locked in on playing Miami in the 3-6 game.
If Miami beats the Bills, it gets very interesting. It could be any team of Indy, Houston, Pittsburgh, or the Bills themselves (the Bills scenario is if both the Jags and Steelers lose). The Bills could also miss the playoffs if the Steelers and Jags win their games. |
Bill's will win. Miami is weak. Bill's are tough guys most weeks. Tua will crap his pants under the pressure.

So no, the chiefs have no shot at the 2 seed. |
What a moment, why can't we be #2 seed. We have a better conference record than Miami at this point.
Can we overtake the Browns? |
By my reckoning Bills will either be 2 seed or eliminated next week. Chiefs locked in at 3 can kick back in LA

It would be pretty funny to go on the road and beat Buffalo in the divisional.

I would love to see Tyreek’s homecoming to Arrowhead

First round opponent scenarios
So we can only play the Bills if the Jags lose (plus other things) so we need a Jags win which they do as well.
So the four games that matter, here is our rooting interest. Jags @ Titans - Jags Bills @ Dolphins - Dolphins Steelers @ Ravens - Steelers Texans @ Colts - depends on who you want to play. If the above three scenarios go in our favor to knock out the Bills, then the winner of this game is our opponent. |

Why are we locked into the 3 seed? If Indy wins and we lose next week, we both have the same records at 10-7 and conference records at 8-4. Is it our record versus common opponents?

Must be something like that. Neither the Texans or the Colts can be the 3 seed even if they win their division according to the playoff machine. One caveat, I’m not picking every game, just those with teams still relevant to the playoffs. |
I just don't see Miami winning in Beefalo.

There’s zero chance the Bills win in Buffalo too though. |

I can’t shake this feeling that Baltimore is going to get upset at some point.
Lamar has choking DNA. |

Bring on the bills
|
I still think we end up as the 2 seed
|
Path to the Super Bowl:
R1 - Indy R2 - Miami R3 - Baltimore I can see them beating Indy and Miami (especially without Chubb), but Baltimore is playing on another level right now. |
Buffalo could be the #2 seed or out of the playoffs. TwoBillsDrive will be lit next week.

Jags beat TN today, I thought

Think I’d rather have the Texans if at all possible. We should kill the Colts, but they always drag us down to their level. Don’t know if we can play Pittsburgh, but Mahomes definitely has their number too.
|
I wouldn’t hate playing Miami.
They’re beat to shit. They won’t travel to a cold market well (they’ve played most of the back end of their schedule in Miami). We’ll be essentially playing them off a bye. |

I don’t think the dolphins have beat a good team all year. I don’t see them winning against Buffalo.
|
Miami is beating the Bills. Mark it down. Bills missing the playoffs!

Is Tua even going to be healthy enough to play? Or play well anyway?
|
So... Correct if I'm wrong... If...
3 Chiefs win round one 2 loses round one Chiefs at home round 2? wins.. Balt loses in round 2 AFC Champ at Arrowhead again?? Theoretically??? Could that happen??? Or am I wrong |

I think it’ll be the Colts or Texans

If I had my druthers, the Dolphins would beat the bills next week. The bills would make the playoffs as the 7 seed.
In the playoffs we'd beat the Colts (or Texans). The bills would beat the Dolphins. We'd play the bills at home. The Jags or Browns beat the ravens and the Arrowhead invitational lives on. |
That would be the most Bills thing ever if they get eliminated next week
|
Cleveland is a very dangerous team.
Whoever draws them the first round is going to have problems. |

Bills as the 7 seed may be ideal for us. They could feasibly beat the Dolphins and then the Ravens on the road to give us another Arrowhead Invitational.
