"Chiefs fans should be worried"

- Tony Romo

I'm worried alright. Worried how the **** I'm going to sleep tonight got work tomorrow. What a great ****ing win!

The guy needs to go. I don't know how CBS can keep this asshole around.

He doesn't analyze shit. ****, at least Collinsworth talks about actual football plays when he does the game.

Romo has been reduced to just screeching like a girl and saying dumb cliche bullshit.

MAYBE THIS IS THE YEAR ALLEN GETS HIS SUPER BOWL

Maybe it's not, Tony. Either way, maybe you should calm the **** down and just describe what it is you're actually seeing instead of speculating over who just "wants it more"

KC_Connection 01-21-2024 09:12 PM

That was easily the worst he's ever been on a broadcast and he's been pretty bad at times. He seemed convinced for the entire game that the Bills were going to win despite the Chiefs having the best QB ever. It was odd.

smithandrew051 01-21-2024 09:12 PM

59 yards and 0 points allowed on the Bills last 3 drives of the game.

Romo went from a fantastic broadcaster to a Buffalo ball licker and annoying **** in like 3 years.

The rumors that Vegas told him to knock off his play call predictions took away his one good ability as a broadcaster (and to be fair, it was god tier).

Spot on folks. Romo started out great. Not so much anymore. Still knows a lot about football, but just doesn’t seem to have very good timing or judgment in what he says. Remember when Kelce caught the overtime touchdown in the 13 second game? Romo got all excited and then suddenly went on a stupid rant about Kelce being out of bounds for the catch. It’s been downhill for him ever since.

I did enjoy Gene coming in each time and shutting him down immediately.

Wallcrawler 01-21-2024 09:51 PM

Collinsworth has some terrible sound bytes from today.

When you have 215 pounds of man coming across the middle, he's just not strong enough to get the ball out of the strong hands of Mike Evans. Thirsty Cris?

Now you've got an all pro lineman going down on your corner back.

I’ll get some hate, but I’ll say it just to be transparent. A lot of posters here made me become fond of Tony’s commentary in his first few years because he really broke down the game. I don’t see his commentary as being biased against the chiefs tbh, I see him as playing devils advocate and it’s easy to do against our team. Are we really acting like he doesn’t laugh and go “hahaha mahomes and Reid does it again “ isn’t something he says constantly?
He can’t suck our dick 24/7 and expect to keep a job.

ChiTown 01-21-2024 09:54 PM

I muted the TV in the 2nd half and it was extremely enjoyable. That was maybe the worst 1st half broadcast I can ever remember listening to. F Romo. His analysis has turned into garbage. He’ll be calling game over for the Chiefs next week when they get down early to the Ravens.

Eleazar 01-21-2024 09:57 PM

I think Romo does a good job, but he needs to be a little less affectionate toward Allen and some of the other players he clearly likes and wants to see succeed.

lcarus 01-21-2024 10:01 PM

I find it flattering tbh. You either get it, or you don’t. I’m a younger generation chiefs fan and that’s probably why I get it because I don’t have the “because chiefs” or “victim mentality” living rent free in my head. Much love though man. If you are old school, I’d buy you a beer in a second.

100%. Any dumbass can turn into a fanboi and give fanboi comments during the game. He used to be smart about his commentary and deliver real insight into the game. He has fallen into the same trap that many sports broadcasters do following the lead of the sports press when they are tired of seeing the same person or team win over and over again. They want someone different so they all jump on the bandwagon of rooting for the underdog and slighting the champ. Tony was good in the beginning but now...not so much. You see it now with all of the sports press pushing for the Detroit Lions. If we do get to play the Lions in the SB I assure you it will not end the way the season started. It will be a blowout SB win for our Chiefs. Mahomes will be motivated to personally beat GOFF and Kelce and Jones will be playing.;)

Nah, he was told I assure you not to be himself any longer and told to color inside the lines instead of outside the lines of which you are describing. He colored the game early on as if he were playing QB. Not so much anymore.;)

Oh Snap 01-22-2024 12:36 AM

Nantz and Romo were pretty bad. Wanting a penalty and saying that the chiefs were getting away with stuff... and I dont care what the replay officials saw on hardmans fumble. His ass was on the ground. At best it wasnt enough to over rule the ruling on the field that he was down.

But those 2 dipshits couldn't help themselves.

Romos first couple years were pretty good. He was diagnosing defenses live on air. But the schemes changed enough and hes been out of the league long enough that now all he does is suck off certain players and comes off as an annoying fan boy.

Bump 01-22-2024 12:40 AM

the only thing Chiefs fans need to worry about is if all of this success will shorten some careers or not.

You gotta think that going deep in the playoffs every single year puts a bit more toll on their bodies. They've basically played an entire extra NFL season then everyone else since Mahomes became the starter. Obviously it didn't shorten Tom Brady's career but what about everyone else.

Kelce and Mahomes didn't look beaten down tonight.

Chris Jones is another story. He is looking exhausted.

I really should feel bad for Bills fans.

They are a long suffering fanbase like Detroit or Cleveland that should be easy to root for.

But they are so damn cocky despite having never won shit that it makes it impossible for me to feel any sympathy.

No you are not on KC’s level. No Josh Allen is not on Patrick Mahomes’ level.

How many times do we have to beat the lesson into their heads until it sinks in?

Dumb shits.

Jim Nantz clearly wanted the Bills to win.

Josh Allen got hit by Bolton and Reid on one of his rushing attempts. It wasn't even close to being late, but immediately Jim Nantz goes "Is that a late hit, Gene?" You could hear the desperation in his voice.

"Please, Gene, do something about this. They can't keep getting away with it!"

Never mind that Danna had clipped Allen's legs from behind while Allen was a runner not a QB, and then Bolton and Reid came in.

And as an aside, Allen is one of the biggest culprits of the fake slide when running to get D players to stop to avoid the penalty.

DTHOF 01-22-2024 07:39 AM

I have reached the point to where I am able to ignore ignorant commentators. Even my wife was like Tony sure is for Bills tonight. I was like "what" "didn't here what he said".

wachashi 01-22-2024 07:41 AM

The CBS hosts failed to mention the Bills injuries before the game when they were making their picks. They didn't say a word about it at halftime. But once the game was over and the Bills lost, each and every one of them brought up the injuries. Simms, Cowher, Esiason, Burleson all did it.

Curious.

He doesn't do his job. His job isn't to slobber the Chiefs. His job is to offer color commentary on the game. He doesn't do that.

Curious.

Part of the game. KC lost O-line and had to play a road game in Tampa in the Super Bowl. No one said anything about that other than Mahomes ran around a lot because of Tampas D.

Right. Part of being a SB winner in a physical game like football is having the depth to deal with injuries and having players who can fight through pain.

I don't remember Brady caring about the Chiefs injuries when he talked shit to Honey Badger or threw the SB trophy when he was partying w his teammates after that SB win.

It's a physical game so injuries are a part of it.

This has nothing to do with being sensitive. This has to do with 2 guys, 1 in particular, who can’t do his job any longer because he’s a fanboi. A color guy has to bring insight into the game. He has to let you know what the teams are doing, or why they are doing this or that. His job isn’t to call the game over midway through the 2nd qtr or to tell a fan base they should be worried down 1 score with the ball. He’s completely worthless at his job at this point, and he ruins my experience watching the game. Therefore, he’s been muted.
