Gabe Davis to test free agency

Has Bart Veach signed this pos yet?

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profoo...ing-in-buffalo

smithandrew051 01-22-2024 01:23 PM

Why worry about free agency? We still don’t even know if he’s playing against the Chiefs yesterday.

cmh6476 01-22-2024 01:25 PM

from that article...

Quote:

Realistically, it may be tough for the Bills to make Davis his best offer. Buffalo is currently projected to be well over the 2024 salary cap. Although the Bills will make the moves they need to make to get under the cap, they probably won’t be big spenders in free agency, either in keeping their own free agents or signing players from other teams.

So don’t be surprised if Sunday was Davis’s last game in a Bills uniform.

Mecca 01-22-2024 01:27 PM

They're gonna lose Davis and Diggs...they're offense is gonna be James Cook/Shakur/Kincaid and probably a round 1 WR.

Now I want Veach to trade in front of them for a WR.

BigBeauford 01-22-2024 01:29 PM

Yes please. Assuming he still has a lot in the tank. Wouod easily be our #2.

Eleazar 01-22-2024 01:29 PM

Ehh.. I'm not sure about this. Is he an upgrade to MVS, sure. Don't overpay.

DRM08 01-22-2024 01:30 PM

Buffalo fans think Gabe Davis is worthless. I am not sure KC would want to go down that path. We have seen Davis make some big plays in the past, but Buffalo people are very familiar with him and they think he sucks. Could be another MVS situation. Green Bay & Rodgers were glad to dump MVS on the Chiefs.

They'll probably be scrap heap hunting in WR FA too, watch MVS go there.

uh, no.

Davis isn't the WR we need, we need a consistent route runner that moves the chains, Diggs is a much better fit across from Rice with a first 2 round pick mixed in.

I want Tyler Lockett. Give us a dude who runs proper routes and catches the damn ball when Patrick throws a good one. That's all we want to see, lol

Rainbarrel 01-22-2024 01:32 PM

Veach gets receivers from successful QBs

FloridaMan88 01-22-2024 01:32 PM

Veach should be aiming for higher quality upgrades than Davis.

Yes, on balance is bringing in Davis going to help us? Probably, he's produced more yards and touchdowns than anybody on our roster has. But I wouldn't want to see this be our only acquisition at a time when we should be looking at a high draft pick or a higher profile veteran than this.

It's not even profile it's about consistency, our room is missing consistency and Davis biggest thing is he's inconsistent.

100%. If Gabe Davis is Veach's off-season target, he should be fired on the spot.

RaidersOftheCellar 01-22-2024 02:03 PM

Davis either puts up 100 yds or a goose egg. KC needs to be aiming for somebody consistent.

BWillie 01-22-2024 02:16 PM

If we are going to spend money I want someone better than Gabe Davis

Wisconsin_Chief 01-22-2024 02:16 PM

I don’t want any Bills trash on this team. We can do better. He can go waste away in Vegas or something.

Dunerdr 01-22-2024 02:25 PM

Do you want a youger version of MVS because this is how you get a younger version of MVS. Chiefs fans view Davis like cincy fans view MVS after last years afccg. The truth is hes not that good.

St. Patty's Fire 01-22-2024 02:27 PM

some team is gonna pay him like a #1.

BlackHelicopters 01-22-2024 02:29 PM

Thank you, no.

Tribal Warfare 01-22-2024 02:31 PM

Brian Thomas Jr LSU that's the guy to get/draft unless they're loading up to get a Franchise LT.

scho63 01-22-2024 02:33 PM

$32 million over salary cap.

That's a problem.

Mecca 01-22-2024 02:35 PM

The Bills GM is saying they aren't blowing up their roster, how is that possible unless they're gonna go into full on Saints cap hell mode.

"No one panic, if i have a job we will bring you the same roster that ripped your hearts out 3 straight years! Very NICE! GREAT SUCCESS!"

They will lose Davis, but not sure about Diggs or Von Miller.

The cap hits for Diggs/Miller are something like 30 mil and the dead cap hit is like 28 mil or something. So they would save very little money cutting these guys.

They could re-structure their contracts, but that is commitment to them for even longer....

The Bills are ****ed. I'm guessing they will want to find a trade partner.

Couch-Potato 01-22-2024 03:02 PM

No way they let Diggs go.

I don't think he's going to let them keep him....

kccrow 01-22-2024 03:11 PM

I think they pretty much need to make Diggs a June 1 designation. Saves them 19m. Cutting Rasul Douglas and Mitch Morse will get them another 19.5m. Might as well let Poyer walk too. Then restructure Knox and some of Allen's money to do what you need to in FA and the draft. Doing that is basically gutting age. They don't gain too much by getting rid of Miller on a June 1, only 6.7m. Might as well keep a solid pass rusher for that.

hmmmm, that is different info than I just heard (on 810 Anderson show) and regurgitated here.

I could be wrong, you could be right.

Of course those are massive roster changing moves and they are implying they don't wanna do that...

I personally think Diggs makes it well known soon that he no longer wants to play there, making that move easy to justify.

He's going to 100% push his way out and make it where fans are glad he's gone making it an easy move.

I could see him being the guy who signs with a winner for less, he seems to really ****ing hate losing and want to get a ring before it's over.

I didn't see him on the field, but that doesn't mean he wasn't playing. He could be Schrodinger's Wide Receiver.

He was actually really really good for the first 8 weeks of the season. When Dorsey got fired the offense completely changed.

They ran their offense through James Cook and Allens rushing which basically nerfed Diggs. I think Diggs is the same player they just wanted to mitigate Allen's turnovers more than anything which took opportunity's away from Diggs.

They basically became a team that was way more interested in feeding James Cook in the pass game, using Kincaid more and feature Shakir on his routes. Diggs became like a 4th option to try to prevent turnovers.

This is true, that said he had a HUGE drop last night.

I'm going to be honest it's hard for me to really get onto a guy for not catching a 60 yard high arcing bomb when there are 40 mile an hour winds, I guarantee that ball was moving and made tracking it difficult, that was the same end that Bass' kick shot right.

They haven't drafted very well...Josh Allen is going to have to carry teams that don't have nearly the talent he's had for the last 3 years.

The Franchise 01-22-2024 03:45 PM

Diggs can come here on a discount and know what it's like to win a ring.

Hoover 01-22-2024 03:50 PM

Yeah he should have caught it, but it was a dumb call. They hadn't done shit down field, so lets go deep on first down. Three and out, ball back to KC.

Diggs, Lockette or Evans with a 1st or 2nd round receiver would fix this offense in a hurry.

Cut MVS and let the rest of the room fight for roster spots.

Ridley or Hollywood brown. Evans is good but too old imo.
