Which ring was better? 2022 or 2023?

2022 we traded Tyreek and priced the haters wrong. Mahomes ankle was legendary and he went God mode in the 2nd half of the SB.

2023 was a down year for sure. Struggles from the first game. WR problems, offense looked terrible for awhile, Xmas embarrassment. Then we won on the road twice and came back to win in OT with a legendary drive cementing a dynasty.

Man this is hard

Bump 02-11-2024 11:01 PM

The 2nd in the back to back feels cooler than the 1st one after the first one we won 2 years before that, IMO

scho63 02-11-2024 11:01 PM

2020 was by far the best.

2023 was validation.

2024 was complete shock.

WhawhaWhat 02-11-2024 11:02 PM

All of them are equally great.

Buehler445 02-11-2024 11:02 PM

Yes.

DRM08 02-11-2024 11:04 PM

I probably vote 2022 because they got revenge on the Bengals in the AFC title game. This championship for 2023 season feels like icing on the cake.

TLO 02-11-2024 11:05 PM

They're all amazing. I can't possibly choose.

Bump 02-11-2024 11:06 PM

But basically what I was trying to say is that winning back to back is ****ing legendary and doesn't happen very often.

carcosa 02-11-2024 11:06 PM

Somehow this one was the only one that made me cry a little so I'll say this one

Spott 02-11-2024 11:06 PM

Finally getting back to back is pretty damn amazing.

WilliamTheIrish 02-11-2024 11:07 PM

This one.

Easily. Will be my favorite chiefs squad since the 1969 Chiefs.

Womble 02-11-2024 11:08 PM

Pregame today I wasn't as nervous or as juiced as I was for last year's. But I don't think I've ever been as wrecked emotionally during a game as I was today from the 4th quarter onwards. The most intense Chiefs game I've ever watched.

They're both ****ing amazing. That's the answer.

Rainbarrel 02-11-2024 11:08 PM

There are probably 99 reasons they shouldn't have won this bitch. Patrick Mahomes was not one

FloridaMan88 02-11-2024 11:08 PM

This year was the most impressive run… beating Buffalo and Baltimore on the road in the playoffs, all of the adversity, etc.

ChiTown 02-11-2024 11:09 PM

23 and it’s not close. This Team had to fight through so much adversity and playing with that target on their backs all year. Then, they have to go to Buffalo & Baltimore in order to get to the SB? Yeah, this is much tastier than the 22 SB. I just can’t believe that I’m this fortunate to even have this debate :)

My heart is full. I love you all!

CHIEFS!!!!!!

Ming the Merciless 02-11-2024 11:09 PM

Back to Back. Clinching the Dynasty
putting the 3 peat in play

overtime

a defensive win ( season and game as a whole)

I'll go with this year.. by a bit

RollChiefsRoll 02-11-2024 11:10 PM

This one. This one is the ****ing best.

Gary Cooper 02-11-2024 11:10 PM

This one is the best.

The first one felt surreal but the challenge of this season was beyond anything else.

We just witnessed one of the toughest roads a team had to a SB win.

RealSNR 02-11-2024 11:10 PM

This ring taught me to not take fools lightly.

Greatness is upon them and they bitch about refs?

**** them all. This was the more memorable game and we did it while pissing everybody off.

I wouldn't want it any other way.

Bl00dyBizkitz 02-11-2024 11:11 PM

I mean...

Walk off TD, in Overtime, in the Super Bowl.

Then tack on going on the road to beat Buffalo and Baltimore.

I truly don't see how it could get any better than that.

Smed1065 02-11-2024 11:12 PM

Shit is too crazy IMO

I'd have to say this one. Against a truly good team, the offense played like total ass for most of the night but they still pulled it out. What a gutty win. Just amazing.

digger 02-11-2024 11:13 PM

WINNING ONE IN A "DOWN" YEAR... MUCH BETTER THAN IN A "REBUILDING" YEAR...

NEVER A DOUBT... BECAUSE MAHOMES...

BossChief 02-11-2024 11:13 PM

This one was my favorite run, after 2020.

I can’t wait to see this offense with 2 more good WRs and maybe another weapon at RB.

Gotta think this is the time to push the rest of the dick in.

smithandrew051 02-11-2024 11:14 PM

I like that this is even a question that exists for the Chiefs

New World Order 02-11-2024 11:14 PM

Elway delivered us our trophy that solidified our dynasty.

This one was the best

WilliamTheIrish 02-11-2024 11:14 PM

Total team effort. Offensively and defensively.

And Mahomes… I can’t even describe it.

That had me rolling in laughter. Elway looked like he was passing a 2 x 4 through his colon when he handed that trophy off :)

Pepe Silvia 02-11-2024 11:20 PM

2023 easily.

Nightfyre 02-11-2024 11:28 PM

To be the best, you have to beat the best. The Chiefs beat:
Both of the potential 2 seeds in the AFC in Miami and Buffalo (road).
The "best team in the league" 1 seed Ravens (road).
Then the "best team in the league" 1 seed 49ers.

2023 was the ultimate gauntlet of adversity. The team experienced existential struggles and persevered. The team experienced one of the historically worst rest differentials at the end of the season and persevered. The team played the most difficult playoff schedule in NFL history as scored by DVOA and triumphed.

There is only one best team in the league and it is the Kansas City Chiefs.

Eleazar 02-11-2024 11:34 PM

I want to say that I enjoyed this game the least of the 3 SBs just because it was stressful, and all of that due to 3 quarters of self-inflicted errors.

But of course when that TD drive to end the 3rd quarter came around, you could see that this team went into "over my dead body" mode and legends did what legends do.

It's another page in the legacy, about how you can't beat the Chiefs with 3 quarters of good effort, and that almost always the Chiefs are going to find a way.

cdcox 02-11-2024 11:34 PM

Too soon to say. This feeling unfolds over months, not minutes.

KC_Connection 02-11-2024 11:36 PM

Well there’s no question which was more difficult.

Why Not? 02-11-2024 11:39 PM

This one. Our offense sucked all night....and then

el borracho 02-11-2024 11:52 PM

I like the one where they trailed for most of the game but then came back and won it!!!!!!

stevieray 02-11-2024 11:57 PM

Yes

Chiefspants 02-12-2024 12:19 AM

That drive Mahomes did in OT was the shit I used to watch Montana do before “The Catch” and I’d dream we’d one day have a QB who could do anything like him in the Super Bowl (I started watching in 98, so missed the Montana in KC fun).

But today, we didn’t have Montana, we had Patrick ****ing Mahomes and kids are going to grow up watching that last drive for the coming decades.

jerryaldini 02-12-2024 12:23 AM

This one because it seals the dynasty, was the least likely, and the game was insane in the 4th and OT with Mahomes at his finest on the clutch drive.

It really is money in the bank now and chiefs fans can RELAX.

Pablo 02-12-2024 12:38 AM

This one seemed improbable at times this year. It was some voodoo magic shit gelling together and feels truly special

pugsnotdrugs19 02-12-2024 12:41 AM

This was my favorite run and the best Super Bowl as far as the game for a neutral viewer.

I can’t pick a favorite though because without #2, there is no #3. They’re all incredible in their own ways.

tk13 02-12-2024 12:59 AM

Yeah it's hard to pick. That first run was pretty great because of all the comeback wins including the 24-0 game. Then last year Hurts was 16-1 as a starter and played out of his mind and it was a true QB duel. This year will end up on the Mahomes highlight reel forever because of the OT win though. This was definitely the most grueling season and playoff run though.

Well said. Moving forward though we still need to get that #1 seed. That was a buzzsaw we had in front of us to make the Super Bowl. And per DVOA was the hardest path EVER to win a SB.

Well there’s no question which was more difficult.

What is amazing on that chart is that the second most difficult was the 2007 Giants...who defense was coached by Spags.

Spags may be the greatest defensive coordinator of all time.

philfree 02-12-2024 01:31 AM

Took the long way home having to go through Wild Card Weekend against Miami, and then at Buf and at Balt... . Winning in the raiders house. Ha Ha:LOL:

Imon Yourside 02-12-2024 01:32 AM

I love both my children equally

Hammock Parties 02-12-2024 01:43 AM

It's close, but hobbling around on one leg into a championship that totally made 2020 a thing of the past we don't have to feel bad about anymore...takes the cake.

Very close but the Mahomes injury is the kicker. Plus the Bengals game was an all-timer revenge game.

I love that this postseason run absolutely stamps Mahomes as an all-time great, though.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better postseason than two road wins and a ****ing nail biter never say die game culminating in a drive Joe Montana would have been proud of.

I was 12 years old on those last two drives. Eyes as big as dinner plates.

BWillie 02-12-2024 01:49 AM

I think 2024 is going to be the best. We will become the Bulls.

Fishels 02-12-2024 01:50 AM

2020 is my favorite but this one is more impressive

Also is just me or did the 2020 bowl feel like a lifetime ago?

JPH83 02-12-2024 04:28 AM

23-24. More players were contributing less than they had, the path was definitely harder, and a repeat has to be harder.

scho63 02-12-2024 06:53 AM

This year was the TOUGHEST by a mile

UK_Chief 02-12-2024 06:54 AM

Like choosing between your children…

ping2000 02-12-2024 06:59 AM

This was the "**** off haters" Super Bowl. Easily the best one. Chiefs against the world. An entire off-season watching all the losers eat shit and have to deal with the Chiefs. Every team with good QB's realizing they will never get shit because the greatest QB OF ALL TIME is standing in their way. This is beautiful. We are so lucky.

CupidStunt 02-12-2024 07:14 AM

People gonna downplay last year for no reason? This year was special. Last year was special! We traded Tyreek and were doomed, remember? Mahomes only went and won MVP and sealed it with a ring. Sent the Bengals home. Beat the vaunted super team Eagles, not allowing a single sack.

In 20 years I'm gonna remember both equally as fondly. 2019 only stands out being the first in the dynasty, reward for all the years we stood by Huard and Croyle and Haley and no WR TD and murder-suicide and Pioli and Tyson Jackson and all the rest.

dirk digler 02-12-2024 07:16 AM

This year by far

SDChiefs 02-12-2024 10:20 AM

Super Bowl 58 was the best. Less than a week after the anniversary of the death of number 58, we won it for him. 54 was also great, we won the first Super Bowl in my lifetime.

Rain Man 02-12-2024 11:07 AM

Every one of them is clearly the best.

Chiefnj2 02-12-2024 11:15 AM

This Super Bowl was the sweetest for a number of reasons. First, if you are a long time fan you grew up on dominant defenses trying to carry the team. This brought back some nice memories of shutdown corners, LB's flying around and a pass rush that could show up in crunch time. The Chiefs defense this year, IMHbiasedO, was as good as any D in the last 25 years. With Mahomes on the other side of the ball, they will never get the full credit they deserve, but man they were a thing of beauty to watch this year.

Second, it was fun to watch the next man up actually step up. You had "backup" guys like Tranquil, Pennel, Allegretti, Morris, Edwards, Chenal make big plays in the regular season and playoffs. That's a testament to coaching and drafting. KC didn't miss a step this year due to injuries. There is also a nice dose of redemption for MVS and Hardman to shrug off fumbles and dropped balls, only to be Super Bowl heroes a few weeks later.

Third, it was the most flawed team that had to take the hardest path to the championship. Miami's high flying offense, the hottest team in the NFL the Bills, the #1 team in the NFL and the #1 team in the NFC. 3 times a dog. It was nice to prove all the pundits wrong. Remember, never bet against Mahomes and Kelce.

Kind of crazy to say… but yeah. Every Super Bowl has its own story….

First Super Bowl was sweet because it had been so damn long.

Second Super Bowl was a redemption tour and easy to forget that we had a few rough years prior where everyone expected the crown to move to burrow . We won that game with a signature performance.

This Super Bowl was EASILY the hardest road. Tremendously difficult schedule… no bye, road games, playing 4 legitimately terrific teams. And with our offense not having our best stuff especially in the Super Bowl

Next year… I firmly believe this, we will have a monster offseason and will start throttling opponents.

I agree there are no excuse next season, we're going to kick ass and take names all the way to the Superbowl. Fear the Chiefs NFL.

ReynardMuldrake 02-12-2024 11:41 AM

LVII for me. Reid beating his old team in the Kelce Bowl. Hurts playing a monster game but just coming up short. Mahomes putting the team on his back on one leg and dragging them to victory. That's a legacy-defining win for both coach and QB.

Eleazar 02-12-2024 11:53 AM

I'll have to rewatch the game after all the emotions have faded. When you look at the roster not being as good as in previous years and the fact that we cocked up much of the regular season and had to take a road path through the postseason, maybe this one has an argument.

2020 I think remains at the top though, from it being the first in a lifetime to Mahomes turning into Thanos in the postseason, etc

Chris Meck 02-12-2024 11:55 AM

This one.

As late as Christmas day, I don't think anyone honestly expected this team to be able to get it done. And the game was simply the greatest super bowl of all time.

Wisconsin_Chief 02-12-2024 11:57 AM

2023 without a doubt. Game winning TD in overtime can never, ever be topped I don't think. Mahomes driving down field and ripping their goddamn hearts right out of their chests was one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. Ratface Jr's face after the final TD was glorious, and then Elway having to give us the trophy? I mean, just amazing.

JPH83 02-12-2024 11:59 AM

Wow, my recency bias and sh***y memory are something else. Genuinely forgot about Mahomes' ankle.last year, wtf?! Anyway, still this year, but close.

Ghost of Maslowski 02-12-2024 12:02 PM

i gotta say this one because the Chiefs claimed back-to-back titles and dynasty status with the same W, and the road was a lot harder just to get there.

Jet Chip Wasp 02-12-2024 12:11 PM

This one is better than last year's championship.
