Vikings make draft trade with Texans
Getting capital for a QB

Wonder who’s gonna trade down for them?
You need top three really to get your guy |
They want JJ McCarthy badly. And Sean Payton is gonna lose out on him LMAO
|
McCarthy is just a guy. Definitely not worth trading up for.

I'm hoping the Cardinals are locked in on Marvin Harrison Jr and refusing to budge. Really don't want him going to the Chargers, let them trade down instead.
|
Chargers are going get pick 11, 23 and probably more. ****
|
Why does this draft comp feel like the texans got fleeced?

Nabers is going to be a ****ing stud. |
Also, I don't think the Chargers would get much more than 11 and 23. That seems like enough to go up to 4, maybe add some change.

If I was Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers, I think I'd just call up the Vikings and offer them Herbert for 11 and 23. Might as well jump start that rebuild.

Yeah it’s weird. I’m walking at a college tour for the kid, so I can’t really check but what’s the value chart show for that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I'd imagine they're targeting QB3 in the 3-5 region, not McCarthy.

Do we think there's any remote truth to the rumors that Herbert can be had and Harbaugh wants McCarthy?
That would be ****ing nuts |
I'm not worried about them getting Marvin Harrison, Jr. Chargers had Mike Williams and Keenan Allen for years and dick dick with them.
|
According to PrettyRickey, the Vikes have apparently called up Arizona and inquired about #4. Taking JJ McCarthy at 4 would be insane.
|
If I'm Arizona, I'm not giving up Marvin for just pick 11 + 23
It's gonna probably take next year's 1st too |

The Chargers at 5 seems like the ideal trade spot. |

You have to look at this like you're Harbaugh. You are walking into a situation where you are paying top end QB money now, don't have dick for offensive weapons. The quickest way to turn it around is trading Herbert. The Chargers with Picks 5, 11, 23, 37, 69, 105, 110 scares me a whole lot more that the Chargers with Herbert. It would allow the team to get whatever QB they want, inject a ton of talent at WR, and fix their cap in one offseason. It would jump start their rebuild overnight. |
Race to get to Arizonas pick at #4 for JJ McCarthy. Go get it Vikings leave the Broncos with their dicks in their hands.

The Chargers are in a damn nice spot. Sometimes being shitty has its privilege I guess. |

That's why I really don't have a ton of interest in trading up this year. |

It's also why I won't be too upset with a bit of a "reach" at 32. |

Chargers are going to trade Herbert to Vikings and draft JJ
|

I mean I guess Herbert could completely rip up his deal and figure out some way to convert those option bonuses into guaranteed salary that travels with him to his new team, but lord that would be complicated. And frankly, if the option bonuses have already been paid for some reason (maybe they have and the cap hits are pro-rated out for accounting reasons; option bonuses have always been beyond my pay grade), even that wouldn't work. Those are set in stone. Herbert's not getting traded. |

Herbert SHOULD be a top 5 guy, he's just been saddled with bad coaching and FO. |

There are legit questions if Harbaugh and his old school philosophy/style can work with Suckbert… and meanwhile the QB who Harbaugh just won a NC with is available. |
If the Chargers trade away the right to take a top 5 player to draft in the teens and 20's they're ****in dumb.

I did my QB evals w/o any outside influence. I didn't listen to or ready anyone eles's opinion and came away with McCarthy as the 3rd best QB in this draft. Then i start hearing things about McCarthy's stock heating up post-combine etc. Sounds to me like actual scouts really do like him. And if Sean Payton likes him as much as people speculate, then i'm even more sure of myself. Sean, Reid and Arians were the coaches hot for Mahomes, so they know wtf they're looking at. McCarthy has some good polish to him, looks like a very pro-level skillset. |

I liked the way JJ was interacting with players at the combine. He was clearly one of the guys. That stuff matters.
Haven't watched any tape. |

It's like they heard this and heard that and now those tinted glasses are on when they watch/talk about McCarthy. Imma go see what Chris Simms says about them. I haven't listened to his pods since the SB. |

Now maybe his physical skill set, intangibles, etc. project well in the NFL… but he looks like a bigger version of Stetson Bennett. |

Interesting. Simms has Nix and Pennix ahead of both McCarthy and Maye.

The trade ups will make it happen and the Giants would take one of the top 4 too. |

You say "Game Manager". I say he ran Harbaugh's system the way he wanted it ran. |

2024 pick 23 2024 pick 232 For 2024 pick 42 2025 pick 36 2024 pick 188 Not a bad trade for Houston at all |
Totally agree with Simms' evaluation of McCarthy here. That's what i saw too. Time stamped for your convenience.

Simms gets a lot of shit for his QB rankings every year but like, he does a better job than anyone I see when you review them years later.
Only the Zach Wilson one that I can remember being a big whiff, and that's the Jets. |

You could absolutely be right, but I think McCarthy has more talent and upside than Mac Jokes did, and that wil be the difference.
I mean, the Vikings are clearly preparing to trade up for a guy, and the Giants desperately want to move on from Daniel Jones now that they have buyers remorse. |

And because of that, I don't think the Vikings make that trade unless they like McCarthy too. |

McCarthy looks like a more mobile Sam Bradford to me. Not a strong arm but accurate.
I want a QB with a high ceiling. Can totally see why the Packers did that with Jordan Love. Love can do things you can’t teach. Things McCarthy couldn’t dream of doing |
Quote:
The Bears are clearly taking Caleb. The Colmmanders get their choice after. If any of the teams in the top 3 trade, it would be the Pats, and I just don't see that happening when they have no QB. |
Vikings are accumulating first round picks to give them all to the Chiefs for Sneed

For those who are wrongly under the impression that McCarthy has a weak arm, here's a list of past QB's velocity. Patrick Mahomes threw a 62 MPH, as did Josh Allen. So yeah, 61 from JJ is nice. https://www.ourlads.com/story/defaul...2017/10243/dh/ |

You just rarely see teams trade down then take a QB. Usually, you're just going to take your guy and not **** around. |
Bo Nix is about the same age as Trevor Lawrence… he was in college forever.

Bears - Caleb Williams Redskins - Jayden Daniels Pats - J.J. McCarthy Cardinals - Marvin Harrison Jr. Chargers - Trade down with the Vikings. The Chargers could still get a top WR at 11 if they wanted and add another pick to grab another player. |

Vikings would be ecstatic to only have to trade up to 5 to get Maye. |
100% a move to get a QB. A lot of teams in need, and Denver right there also looking. Need this trade capital to move up and stay ahead of them.
