Report: Chiefs and OBJ have "mutual interest"

Did we sign this piece of shit yet?
|
Please no, unless a cheap cheap deal.
|
I’d be fine with him as #3 WR as long as he understands his role is mainly to be a vet leader and he’s not gonna have huge numbers.
Still gotta draft one. |
I think I'd rather try to kick the tires on Michael Thomas
|
Is he willing to take a cheap deal?

Having him as weapon #4 would be nice. |
You guys are suggesting we ask a guy who wanted to sit out all year and then come in just to help during a playoff run to inspire and motivate our young receivers ROFL
|
I hope this is not true. Not a fan.
|
Wait, the Ravens paid him $15 million last year? Lol.
|
I am too old to understand the hip lingo these youngsters use these days, but I believe he was saying that he enjoyed his time in Baltimore, and wished they could have had more success together. He loved the city and his teammates and he will always look fondly upon his time together with them.

1 year $5 mill and I'll be excited!
|
And if we got him people could see what "elite ball tracking" actually looks like.
|
He averaged a career high 16.1 YPC last season.
|
He was pretty good for the Rams on their Super Bowl run, right?

I haven't looked at the numbers, but this guy seems like an older MVS at this point. Yeah, he'd be a vet leader and basically WR3/4 to fill out the roster.
|
Man I'd rather not.

Hollywood-Rice-OBJ-Draft Pick is not a bad WR corps...

When they threw his way he delivered. |

If he’s reasonable in his ask, then I’m in favor. |

He's a solid #3 or #4, I don't hate the fit but can we ask him to take a vow of silence or something for the year.

What is this mutual interest based on?
|
Is he still banging Kim K?
|
I would support this. Either him or Williams seem like good pickups. No idea why people keep bringing up Michael Thomas.

Going from a WR room of Rashee Rice, Skyy Moore, Toney and Watson to Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown, OBJ and Xavier Worthy would be something.

I want to see OBJ on slant routes with Mahomes.

I’d love to have OBJ on a cheap deal. |
Man, wouldn't it be nice. Not a fan of OBJ's personality (or his dad's), but he can still play at a high level. Go get him, Veach.
|
I think as a role player and not a featured WR, which is basically what he's been the last couple of seasons, it would be just fine and a solid upgrade for your 3rd or 4th WR. Still would want to draft one if we did sign him. But who knows if it would actually happen. He's talented and has really good hands and even just a 500-600 yard season would be a big boost to the offense.
|
Seems he’s still got a lot of ability. And he won’t be facing Trent McDuffie. Appeared to be a great team guy for Baltimore.

He started 6 games last year and played in 14. He caught 35 balls for 565 yards and 3 TDs. He did average 16.1 yards per catch but he had a long of 51 yards, which can skew the numbers. At this stage of his career he can't be consider a game changer, although his numbers were marginally better than MVS last year.
With 10 years in the league, 50% of them were productive, 2014-2016 and 2018-2019. The last productive year was 5 years ago. Contrary to what OBJ most likely has running through his own mind, he's simply not worth any significant amount of money. Hard pass. |
He wants OBJ money like it’s still 2017, no thanks.
|
Could be Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift in the suite together.
|
Won't be real til Rickey weighs in. My only hesitation is there are only so many targets. On second thought, what an amazing problem to have after last year.
|
Meh. I watched the Ravens game All 22 and Sneed/McDuffie locked him up easily. He is definitely not what he was. Not sure that athleticism is still there.
Definitely doesn’t scare defenses anymore. He was meh aside from 2 or 3 games. I’d pass if he wants more than $3 million. He’s not appreciably better than Justin Watson at this point. He looks like what he is: a soon to be 32 year old coming off 2 major knee surgeries. |

Lol, wow, that's just a terrible analysis. In his sleep OBJ is a better WR than JWat. Put the pipe down, sheesh. |
Like Stephon Diggs he only watches. Besides we need a scat back not a scat chest
|
Quote:
2023 OBJ? Absolutely not Do you guys watch these players or just keep their name from back when they were good? Again the guy is turning 32 and had 2 major knee surgeries. He isn’t anywhere near what he used to be. |

Would have to be super cheap to make sense

lol, let's think about this: Which WR can run a full route tree? Which WR has a decent set of releases/release package? Which WR knows how to create separation at the top of a route/at the catchpoint? Which WR can make sight adjustments? Which WR can read the defensive alignment pre-snap? Which WR has better hands? Which WR can track the ball better? I'll give you a hint: there's only one answer to all the above questions. |
The Tyreek Hill thread is still on the front page. Hello

Unless he mentally accepts his limited role, that diva/me first attitude might cause some unnecessary drama. |
I agree with what others have said - it would have to be a cheap one-year deal. If he is willing to do that, then I don't see why not. He should be able to contribute more than the average WR would.
|
Oh **** no, please no!!! But…if Veach thinks so then I’m good. 🙂

so what's the deal with this guy's mental? Does he end up being a cancer or something? Haven't really heard much about that since he left the Browns.
|
Reid would take care of him, manage his snap count, and save him for when the lights are the brightest. I like it, I don't love it, but certainly better than MVS/Watson/Moore/Toney/Hardman.

Meaningless data. |
If we get him he hasn't lost a step and will catch everything.
If he goes elsewhere he's a washed piece of shit that should be trying out for the Toledo Bells flag football team. |
trash
|
Would rather have a rookie for the 3rd WR spot at this point but wouldn't mind OBJ there if we can't get a good one in the top 2-3 rounds

1. You never agree with anyone. 2. You always have to be right. 3. You can never see the other side of the coin. 4. In order to achieve 1 through 3 you spin the hell out of everything. The mods should change you name to inertia. |

I like Justin; he's a good guy and occasionally he makes a great play. But he's a better ST player than he is a WR, and that's just a fact. He shies from contact and often allows passes to go through his hands when going over the middle; go back and watch the DET game from last season where he lets two balls go through him, both of which were dead on the money and hit him in both hands. He also struggles in zone and doesn't make sight adjustments at all. Meanwhile, we have OBJ: <iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ybaDe3K-prI" title="Odell Beckham Jr. | 2023 Highlights" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe> Sorry, put up the wrong clip the first time. This is the right one. |

Who’s the source?
|
|
Getting kicked off planes sounds like something Bills fans could get behind. They're not really interested in Lombardis any way. Just the things they could do with the champagne corks
|
Could maybe still be a 40 catch 600 yard guy. After the shit we had if he's a 3 or 4th WR type I'm down.
|
Nope. I'd rather have Watson because the 5th option in the passing game needs to play special teams. Watson can actually threaten a defense deep too. He's an incredibly versatile roster piece.
OBJ probably just break himself again. |
