Woah

Lol; no way. Think I called that a couple months back
Or is this April Fools? |
Stupid move Veach.
This guy sucks and is by all accounts a dick. Don’t want him anywhere near this team. |
This is a good move
|
:spraybottle:
|
Not an April Fools joke

He will not see a snap except in cleanup duty as we successfully complete the 3-peat.
|
He's way better than Blabbert
|
Interesting. Wentz is a way better backup QB option than I ever expected them to get.
|
Wow this is a really really good back up. Hope we didnt break the bank
|
I kinda like it.
Way better than Gabbert. |

Sounds good to me! He'll get to play in the last game of the season, I'm sure. Gabbert was pretty ass and Andy loves his veteran backups.

If Andy can fix his head, probably the best backup option We’ve ever had.
|
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Can confirm the Chiefs are signing Carson Wentz to a 1-year deal, per source.<br><br>This is what I wrote 13 months ago, when Wentz was a possible backup option last offseason. <a href="https://t.co/MImHxEQekH">https://t.co/MImHxEQekH</a> <a href="https://t.co/EIZgzpJlDN">pic.twitter.com/EIZgzpJlDN</a></p>— Nate Taylor (@ByNateTaylor) <a href="https://twitter.com/ByNateTaylor/status/1774992961815679170?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 2, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Henne was wonderful when you needed him for a few scripted drives
Gabbert just isn't very good Not a fan of Wentz but kinda feel like at this stage in the career he knows what he is |
Pretty big slice of humble pie getting served to Wentz. He was a #2 draft pick who was given Mahomes level praise in the media during his first 2-3 seasons. The wheels fell off big time! That said, I hope Andy & Patrick can get this guy to be a much better backup QB than Gabbert.
|
It’s still weird how he didn’t seem to get another chance after an acceptable season with the Colts.
|
Well now we know why the rugby player got Gabbert number.

Andy aint fixing shit. Let’s just hope he doesn’t come in with a massive ego and **** with the locker room. |
Carson Wentz in his pants
|
Hopefully he doesn’t bring that duchess chick with him. /pennywise
|
Guys, Gabbert is so bad.
Wentz isn't that good. But he's not Gabbert bad. |
Doesn't need to be great. Needs to execute a few scripted drives in a pinch
Gabbert was totally incapable of that. Henne was dogshit everywhere else but did this part of the job exceptionally well. Wentz probably at a point in his career where he's thankful to just be around. I like it. |

I have faith in Andy. He made Henne look decent. And not terribly worried about Wentz’s ego. Just his decision making. Anyway, we’ll see in preseason. No doubt Andy will at least start him in the third PS game. |

God forbid we need him to play but Andy Reid can get the most out of Wentz.
|
For all the great we've done I feel like we got into a bad recent habit of picking up guys based on personal recommendations. Signing gabbert never made much sense to me. I think he signed because of henne
|
Chase Daniel would’ve been the better option.
1. Good locker room guy 2. Still very physically skilled 3. Missouri Tiger Missed opportunity by Veach to bring home a true son. |
Can he drive Rashee to practice?

Gabbert was horrendous last year. I think Wince might work out and be a long term backup, like Henne.
|
Finally a backup who is talented and would actually give this team a chance if Mahomes ever missed any time.
Blaine Gabbert was ****ing terrible. Had no faith in him at all |
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Chiefs wanted to sign Wentz last year but he thought he was worth more than Chiefs offered & he ended up in LA.<br><br>Teams usually don’t switch back-up QB’s after a Super Bowl win…Chiefs have done it in back 2 back years. <a href="https://t.co/93zlQ0lhWu">https://t.co/93zlQ0lhWu</a></p>— Chase Daniel (@ChaseDaniel) <a href="https://twitter.com/ChaseDaniel/status/1774996458741363059?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 2, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Andy loves a VET as a backup! Welcome to Arrowhead Carson Wentz!
|
Blaine Gabbert was the drizzling craps
|
That's a very nice backup. Hopefully he'll never see the field but still a good signing
|
Good move. Gabbert was trash.
|
Huh, interesting.
Wonder what they gave him? |

Henne and Gabbert both won games for KC
I guess we will see week 18 if Wentz can do that too |
Wentz is better than about a quarter of the NFL QBs starting next year
|
Great news amidst the Rice uncertainty!

There’s a reason like 3 different teams thought they had something when they brought him in and then immediately decided they couldn’t get rid of him fast enough. I just don’t like this signing. The guy has long been known as a bad locker room guy. Wish we had gone in a different direction. |
Pretty solid. Reid has shown he can get the best out of far less capable backups. With the defense we have now if we needed Wentz to step in for a few games I could see this move keeping us relatively on schedule.
|
Time for Wentz to get his 2nd backup QB Ring.
|
I don't remember Gabbert playing much last year outside of the final game. That was also the game where Khalil Mack was dominating our O-Line and several linemen were hurt. Guys were playing out of position and combine that with a QB who doesn't get many snaps and is immobile. It was an ugly game but a small sample size to measure.
What would Carson Wentz have done differently that game? |

John Dorsey probably would have given Wentz a $100 million contract |
I was really excited for a second, because I thought Wentz was a University of North Dakota Ermine. But it looks like he went to North Dakota State.
|
Wentz is the 3rd best qb in the division

I’m good with this. Watched Wentz at Century High School in Bismarck and at North Dakota State. Knew him when he was a really young boy. Fun that he’s going to my favorite team of 50 plus years.

Didn't Andy draft Carson Wentz ??

Wanted Minshew but I'm more than good with Wentz.

Perfect back-up QB.

If you are looking at the veteran QB back-up market, you are going to find issues with all of them. Wentz has familiarity with Andy’s offense. |
Fun fact: before Patrick Mahomes, Veach wore Andy out on another QB he loved as a prospect: Carson Wentz.
Still think Wentz had his career ruined bc his confidence was ruined watching Foles carry his team to a SB win |
Quote:

I hope they paid him no money.
If Andy can work a little magic, and Wentz comes in (after we’ve secured the bye of course) and wrecks shit I’ll enjoy watching the internet melt. |
Quote:
Keep DC shit in DC dude. This isn't a new rule on the board. If you aren't... you could at least put effort into it. |
I read he was a head case.

Gabbert had a few scrambles to win that week 18 game ROFL |

Interesting, so this means the Chiefs were looking to sign Wentz during the middle of last season? Because he signed with the Rams in November…

Should we bring him in on fourth and one and run the QB sneak?
