What color Corvette would you buy?
Hypothetical: you let your friend drive your Corvette and he wrecks it and walks away.
Your insurance covers replacement costs as well as any damage to the Lamborghini that hit you, so you're now at the dealer picking out your new car. What color do you select? Here's a convenient link to some dealer site that makes it easy to look at colors. (Scroll down the page a little bit.) If they chat you, don't identify yourself as an NFL player. https://www.copelandchevrolet.com/mo...?colorCode=GSJ Poll coming faster than you can run down the highway holding a mysterious bag. |
RED unless I found a black wrecked run cheap at the salvage auction near Dallas and had it rebuilt.
|
black like rashee rice
|
Red Metallic Tint Coat
|
Rapid Blue Metallic.
|
Torch Red
|
Chroma Base Saddle Brown Pearl.
|
Riptide Blue Metallic.
Why are there seemingly 7 grey options? |
I'm a big fan of the Riptide Blue and Accelerate Yellow, but I think my #1 pick is ...
Cacti Green. I like how the Cacti Green is kind of understated, but also unique. |

Rainman starting threads that aren't Mansionmania. Just teasing us.
I chose orange. Orange C8s look amazing. https://www.motortrend.com/uploads/s...orvette-C8.jpg |

I always thought Corvettes are for people with too much money to drive a regular car but not enough to buy a Ferrari or Lamborghini.

Like his Corvette…right? |
Laguna Blue

A little red one, of course...
I should have known this would have been one of the first 3 posts. I've been spending too much time in discord and youtube comments where no one knows ****ing anything about anything...It's made me weak. |

Saw this beauty in my office parking lot back in Virginia about 10 years ago.
I think it's about a '53 or '54 |

The 56 and later had a nice sloped back like in your picture. Beautiful cars, unlike the over the top new vettes that look like something out of a scifi movie. I owned a 66 Vette convertible for a short while but wouldn't care to own one of the new ones, but I chose red in the poll. The red one below is a 53 and the blue one is a 57. Quite a few subtle differences. |

But... that Riptide Blue is pretty sexy not gonna lie. |
Poontang pink

Corvettes run 120-170k as a rule so at least a guy can think about it without a 7-figure salary. I'd put Porsche and Mercedes in the same category. |
Red. All of my cars are red.
|
I'd buy the old bronco color. No need for a vette

Something my dad told me, "Son, never buy a yellow or green car, they are Lemons and Limes." I did buy a yellow super beetle once, blew a fist size hole in the engine on the highway... |
Considering this is a Rain Man thread, disappointed no one said Apricot.
|
Corvette is too over the top for me. White might tone it down
|
Caucasian
|
Sea Wolf Gray
|
Black with red durag
|
White is classy. New Corvettes are already obnoxious with their look, the white tones it down a little. White doesn’t scream for attention as much. But the performance of the new all wheel drive vette has got to be unreal.
|
Red of course.

I’m thanking my friend and doing what I should have done in the first place and bought a Porsche. Pepper white or British Racing Green.
|
I don't know. Ask me in 20 years
|
Red is the only color of Corvette that Prince sang about so I went with Torch Red.
|
I really do like black. I think that's what I'd go with and keep it under a dust cover in the garage since black is a bitch to keep clean looking.
Black exterior with the red and black interior... I love it |

I'm still getting used to the new mid engine version. |

A couple buddies have this color. |
Black. Stealthy and understated on a car that already brings attention to itself. And it will look menacing on rainy/overcast days.
|
Team Cacti
|
I would realize I made a mistake buying a Corvette in the first place, and would not do so again.
|
There's just something about the Catci Green that speaks to me. I don't know if I've seen one on the streets that color. Me likey.

I'd chicken out. I'd go with the deep blue (I think that's riptide) or that cherry red (the Red Mist metallic) and I'd probably always have a little buyers remorse. Because that orange just looks killer on them. |

At the end of the day, your SRT Challenger still looks like a brick on wheels. That Corvette drops panties. |

Your corvette would always be like the 'Tactical Sunglasses" they sell at 10a during the week. They call them tactical so you won't notice that they're Dollar General specials. Just as they called your corvette "Cacti" so you won't notice that it's the same color as those flowery bath salts your wife really likes... |

They did a goddamn fantastic job on it. And I say this as a Viper fanboy. It's just a fantastic car; unreasonably so for a car with a base under $70K. |

"I like things loud, fast in a straight line and kinda ugly"? I mean sure, the Corvette may just be another bottle blond with big tits trying to look like the true supermodels that came by their looks through stellar genetics. But I'll be damned if it didn't get close enough. You can take your chick with 'unconventional' good looks - I'll take my bleached barbie with perky cans that corners on rails. |
Um. If either of you think the panties are coming off because of the design of the car and not the inherent value of your wallet, then, um. Yeah.
The plan is still working. |

It always bugs me when they attribute middle aged men getting cool sports cars to a mid-life crisis. Instead, it's usually when a man accrues enough funds to be able to afford the car that they've wanted all along. |

Torch Red is, of course, the choice of most die-hard Chiefs fans, duh?
However, the quandary between black or white is baffling to me. Counter intuitive though it is, white cars don’t “look” nearly as dirty as quickly as black cars. I’ve owned one black car once—given a choice of a white vehicle over a black, that’s easy in my experience. Good luck keeping that black vehicle“clean”—because you’ll need it. ;) Unless you enjoy washing your car 2-3 times a week to keep the look…:doh!: |
Quote:
Well, I opted for black knowing that. I also assumed that a vette would definitely not be the daily driver, and you wouldn't be driving it in rain or snow. If you keep a cover on it in the garage, it should stay decently nice as long as you bust out some detailer and a microfiber cloth to remove bugs and splashes after each drive) |

They look good in most colors but I like the Artic White or Silver. I love the black too but I have a black car and I wont be doing that again.

Black even though I'm currently singing Red by Prince.

I can hardly go anywhere that someone doesn't comment on the Laguna Blue Stingray. I haven't really put the hammer down in it though. I drove my '04 Coup up to 140 on a big hwy out in Pheonix. That was fast enough for me.
Laguna Blue https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...aguna_Blue.jpg On the way to Phoenix we took the route through Payson and part of that route is flat and is in a National Forest. I'm tooling along going 100 or so and I see the Watch Out For Moose sign. I slowed to about 90 and I watched out for the Mosses. I didn't see any. |

Always like that Royal Blue sort of color. Not navy but not powder blue. I think it was Toyota that had Blue Mica metallic on cars in the mid-90s and that was the first one where I was really wowed by the color on a sports car. Viper GTS Blue looks great as well. |
