Who wins the RB3 job?
Veach seemed to indicated the plan is to let the 2 UDFAs battle it out with Ingram and Prince.
Emani Bailey Carson Steele Keaonte Ingram Deneric Prince Who wins? |
CEH

Of that list Ingram is actually a really good fit....
There will also be some RB's that get cut before the year so it may be someone not here at the moment. |

I think Carson Steele might compliment Pacheco and CEH the best in regards to being a true short yardage back, also seems to have a nose for the endzone. The RB3 spot will probably go to the back who can offer the most on special teams.
None of the guys on the roster right now have the talent of McKinnon per say to really steal reps, I would rank them as: 1. Deneric Prince 2. Keonte Ingram 3. Carson Steele 4. Amani Bailey Could be so wrong though. |
Sounds like pass protection will be a big deciding factor.
I've seen Bailey praised for his pass pro, and he runs eerily similar to Pacheco (but smaller). I kind of think it'll be him if they don't bring somebody else in before camp or after cuts. |
Could we trade for Derrick Henry?
He'd be a good RB3. .......Prince or Ingram. Battle it out in camp/preseason. |
I have thought La'Mical Perine had a shot at the McKinnon role. He showed a bit of pass pro ability, had some pop, and showed he could catch out of the backfield in his limited opportunities. I think it will come down to him or Bailey over the summer and through camp.

No love for Rugby guy?

None of the above...Steele is the only one that has a prayer of chipping a DE. My $ would be on picking up a cut in August. I would love to see Bailey on the practice squad and replace CEH next year, at least he offers something.

Keep his number handy if injuries take a toll throughout the season, for sure. |

Wow. Figured there'd be a veteran still worth picking up but the market is absolutely barren.

He’s the classic case of bad testing but plays faster type guy. Will be really fun to see in camp |

And I’m sorry, bringing back CEH was a mistake and will cost us at some point next season. Just because Clyde didn’t suck last year didn’t mean we should bring him back. I’ve never seen a RB go down so easily after initial contact or run down from behind.

Prince or Ingram probably have the most upside but Prince doesn’t seem to have a good feel for the game and he doesn’t use his size. I’d guess that Ingram would be the favorite. Ingram is a 220 lbs back that ran a 4.5 40 and has good experience at usc and Texas, a highly recruited back. He flashed for the cards at times but hasn’t been able to put it all together.
|
I like Matt Breida as a McKinnon replacement. He could experience a similar career revival with the chiefs like jet did.

And he did a fine job of that. And I've always been comfortable with him catching the ball. I wish we had better talent to push him off, but it's hard for me to take it from the WR or secondary rooms. |

Hopefully Bailey can take the 2nd RB spot. Don't really care who's RB3 but CEH shouldn't be RB2 for sure. |

There will always be guys on the street, and I'm sure that's their logic here. Let the young guys fight it out and if none of them look like they can handle a real role, you'll probably see someone brought in. |
What happened to Ealy? ...I liked him in the draft that year and was stoked we grabbed him as UDFA.

Not sure if he'll be RB3 or our new FB, but I would be willing to bet that Steele makes the roster unless he has no Pass Pro ability.
|
I think Bailey has a real shot at it if he buckles down and works his tail off at camp. His last year in college was better than any year Pacheco had and his physical and mental traits look solid.
Carson Steele looks like a very good fullback in waiting imo. I hope Andy develops him there because if everything goes right I think he could be a Kyke Juszczyk type of guy moving forward. |

Chiefs win SB Chief Fan: "Yeah, but, our backup running back..." |
What a time to be a Chiefs fan! We are actually talking about RB3.
|
A discussion on RB3?
Tell me you’ve won back-to-back SB’s, without telling me you’ve won back-to-back SB’s… :) |
LMAO

After watching a couple of videos, I think Emani Bailey could possibly be good competition for it.

Steelers passing on Najee Harris… is there anything left after 5 years?
Maybe KC would bite for 5 Mil if they throw in Brooke Pryor. |
Really don't care at this point, our new stable of prospects look promising... hopefully someone is man enough to relegate CEH to 3
God bless him, he gave us some very redemptive moments last year but we clearly need an upgrade at 2 |
How did you all forget CJ Spiller??!?!??!
|
What's LAZ up to these days? Heard he can still run a sub 20 second 40...
