Roger Corman directed a TON of movies. His movies were frequently on Joe Bob Briggs drive-in theatre.
RIP you sweet bastard. |

But Roger Corman…. Dude was a legend. And ****ing brilliant. Mentored soooooo many young filmmakers and actors through his B system. While he might not necessarily be a household name, he mentored many, many “graduates” through his system, that have become legends in their own right. He was never afraid to give talented, young aspiring artists their chance to learn and cut their teeth in the business. There will likely never be another one like him. RIP. |
BRC should just have a mega thread for these folks
|
Just recently started digging into Corman flicks. Definitely some good stuff there.

Basically the first true independent filmmaker. Absolute legend. I mean look at his imdb. He has almost 500 producer credits. That's insane.
|
Red Letter Media wept.
|
Guy knew how to make enjoyable films with no budget. RIP
Side note: Didn't know he apparently had such an influence on John Carpenter. |
Had to look him up because the name didn’t ring a bell. Hella good director.
|
Dude was key in giving some of the movies biggest stars and directors their start. Folks lik3 Martin Scorsese, James Cameron and Francis Ford Coppola.
Jack Nicolson got his start working for Corman. |
Also, if you were a kid in the early 80s, pre-Blockbuster days, Norman films were a staple in every mom and pop video rental store.
|
RIP to one of the pioneers of drive-in fare.
