Fortunately the Clippers sabotaged any chance the Warriors had of getting PG. Nobody wanted or needed to see that.

The Warriors needs to do a hard reset. However, not having a first round pick this year bumped it back a year. Klay Thompson will be either a Maverick or a Laker.

Let’s hope not, for my sake.

I think it is time for him to hang it up, he had a great career and will be a Hall of Famer

I do, too, although I'd also take Valanciunas.

He's signing with the Spurs, I believe.

WOOF

I was thinking he might try to sign with a contender. He'd be a hell of a piece for some contending teams.

All guys really care about is earning the most money possible or manipulating the system so badly they can play with their son.

BWillie 07-01-2024 09:41 AM

Hartenstein to Thunder. Solid back up big.

Paul George officially to the 76ers. That team is gonna be hurt all year.

KC_Connection 07-01-2024 09:50 AM

That Clippers-Paul George trade has gotta be the worst in NBA history given what SGA is

It’s the Russell Wilson trade of the NBA

I've been on the Hartenstein bandwagon since the playoffs, but thought Valanciunas might be just as good. The disparity in their salaries appears to prove me wrong. I know he's much older, but dude's a beast in the post.

Either way, good job OKC on not locking into a big man in the draft and addressing that need through FA.

Yeah I like Jonas on most teams but IHart fits the style of play that OKC wants to play. Jonas is a little more plodding, more of a Zach Edey type.

I agree, it's just $45 more against the cap that also took hits for Joe and Wiggins (both of which could have been retained for an extra year for peanuts but were given lucrative deals instead).

KC_Connection 07-01-2024 12:31 PM

JV can’t guard/move well enough to be any more than a situational big in this version of the NBA

Makes you wonder why the Lakers are even wasting time and money trying. There is a 100% chance the West is won by Denver, OKC, Minnesota or Dallas.

chiefzilla1501 07-01-2024 12:45 PM

This is a super intriguing offseason already. Klay and George are kind of intriguing for the teams they went to. It’s kind of cool to see an offseason where moves are more about finding the right pieces instead of a select few teams building empires.

It feels like teams are more content to build around their superstars versus the “big 3” approach.

Crazy how the 76ers drafted their way out of becoming a dynasty.

Fultz over Tatum.

Simmons over Brown.

Okafor over several better options.

Missed this earlier. He's going to start.

PAChiefsGuy 07-01-2024 02:13 PM

Clay to the Mavs. I think that is a terrible signing. He's washed.

Never thought I'd see him in a different uniform. That is going to be weird

I don't think he will. Anytime Chet is out IHart will be in but I dont foresee them playing side by side with each other more than 12 minutes a game.

I don’t know man. I think this is the one spot it makes quite a bit of sense. He can’t create his own shots anymore or even sprint to a spot, but all Dallas needed last year was a kickout option. And to get hot at times. That would’ve made a huge difference on a team that apart from pj Washington going berzerk for no good reason, needs some outside shooting

dirk digler 07-01-2024 04:46 PM

I am sad to see Klay go. He definitely got into his feelings and wanted a change of scenery. One of all time favorite players and I hope he can get back his shooting touch.

Thanks for everything Klay!

ChiefsFan88 07-01-2024 05:00 PM

Celtics give Tatum a 314 million 5 year contract which is the largest contract in NBA history, what a dumb contract, he is not worth 314 million and I do not care that he won a championship either

That's true. He will help there. He does address that need and if that is all they were signing him for then it is okay. I'm not familiar enough with the NBA salary cap to say whether the price is too much or not.

Defensively, though, he's not what he once was. Luka and Kyrie - that's both not their strength so they still have an issue with that. And of course (3-year deal) as he gets older, can he stay healthy?

So we will see. I definitely could be wrong but as of right now I'm not a huge fan of it.

Hes a Top 5 NBA player. You pay him and dont think twice.

You gotta pay him but he’s nowhere close to a top 5 player in the NBA and I think that was pretty solidly established even in the NBA Finals we just watched where he wasn’t even a top 2 player in the series.

Maybe Top 5 is a bit high but Id put him at 7 to 10.

You could be right, but I love the versatility either way. The Thunder didn't have "that" guy; now they do. It makes everyone on the team better.

staylor26 07-01-2024 09:04 PM

The Thunder are going to be really tough next year if they stay healthy, and if Chet makes a big jump? Yikes.

Yeah on defense he’s become a complete liability. This is purely about streak shooting. As long as you got Luka out there think you gotta just embrace putting up a lot of points with less defense.

Buehler445 07-02-2024 06:10 AM
