Undisputed is unwatchable-will it survive?
Skip Bayless has always been a fool but the show is nothing more than a daily bitchfest or ass kissing session on the Lakers or Cowboys.
I no longer watch as it is complete shit. Is it time to cancel? :hmmm: I say yes...... |
Those shows are unwatchable. It’s unbelievable the salary those guys command. A lot of those guys you see kissing Lebron’s ass are getting their talking points directly from Klutch sports.
|
Bayless has been unwatchable for DECADES.
I did some serious introspection. Searched really down deep in my soul. Couldn't find a single **** to give. The hell of it his brother is Rick Bayless, who is a legit chef. He has a YouTube channel and I could watch him all day. I can take all of 0.068 seconds of Skip's dumb ****ing ass. |
I really can't believe people yearn so much for shows that feature the sports opinions of others.

I hadn't watched a full episode in years, when it became clear that Bayless was clearly just trying to be a heel to Mahomes' success. His arguments were so ridiculous that there was simply no way he believed the bullshit he was saying.
And then once Sharpe left, i haven't even bothered to watch a small Youtube segment or anything. I've completely tuned it out at this point. Even when the topic is tempting im still like, "nah, **** that guy". |
Once Sharpe left it became an even shitter product. Sharpe was donkey scum but at least he was logical about Mahomes talent.

I like some and others are just a commercial for guys favorite teams. They are very popular so obviously many of us lesser experts watch and like, unlike you. Stick to the soccer...... |

There are good shows out there. McAfee, First Things First, etc (I even hate to say it, but Cowherd has even grown on me a bit). But once Shannon left, Undisputed lost any value it had IMO. Love me some Ricky B. Used to see him out walking the neighborhood in Chicago. You can peer down into his backyard garden from the elevated trail cutting through town Skip don't deserve any of his food |
These shows stick around for too long based on the bad contracts the networks sign with their talent, so it just depends if Fox has something to go in that time slot, can sign another talent cheaper, or if they just want to buyout of Skips contract. I never watch those day shows anymore so I've been gladly contributing to their lack of audience for years now.
|
Skip isba clown and a proven liar from years ago. He thinks Mahomes isn't that great but Tebow was awsome. Thats what he is. A dipshit.
|
You just now figuring that out?
All it took for me was listening to one of his football takes years and years ago. Once in a while I'd listen to him for a minute or two and he's always been the same. It's so obvious he's completely full of shit I can't believe he still has a show. |
Sports talk ended when Rusillo and Van Pelt parted ways.

I told myself years ago I'd never watch that awful show ever again. Well, I admit that I broke after the LVIII. It was in my youtube feed, we were the champs (again) and I couldn't resist clicking on it and soaking up the haterade.
To my surprise, I was expecting the usual dumpster fire of crazy and stupid shit, but the new version with Irvin is just... boring. It was legitimately awful TV. Oh sure, Skip is still a hater, but he seems tired and old. Michael Irvin takes up so much goddamn screen time and won't ever shut the **** up. He takes like 3 minutes just to string a single thought together. FS1 has a real problem on their hands. They gave Skip too much money and power, and now I don't think they can get rid of him. And he's built up such a reputation that nobody good wants to be his partner. Thus, they get a babbling coked out geezer to match wits with ol' Skip. I also checked the ratings. FS1 brought in Skip to headline their daily lineup of sports talk shows, and he's underperforming Cowherd, Nick, and that show with Joy Taylor on it. |

By the way, his podcast is ****ing awful, too. For being on TV for so many years, Skip clearly doesn't understand how to do production. The weird long pauses, the slowness of his speech pattern. I'm not saying he needs a bunch of fancy shit... just make a plan of what you're going to talk about and ****ing spit it out without making it sound like you're reading a goddamn book report to the class.
|
It was never watchable in the first place. PTI was really good but Wilbon and Kornheiser are really showing their age now, which isn't surprising as the show has been on damn near 20 years.

Skip has to be the most punchable guy ever I’ve ever seen.. Gosh it would be so satisfying to clock him right in the nose..
|
Undisputed became unwatchable while Shannon was still there. Most of that was Skip, but some of it was also Shannon. I've only seen one episode of it with Irving, and they had another co-host, and that was just a lot of yelling at each other, which I find unwatchable.
Honestly surprised it's still on. |

I haven't watched it since Shannon left. Skip cannot anchor a show on his own. He needs his equivalent on the other side, that's what makes people watch. Neither Keyshawn nor Sherman have that IT factor. They are just there. You need a sparky personality opposite Skip for it to work.
He also had chemistry with the fraud Stephen A. Myth. |
I really like Keyshawn and he has awesome insight plus he is not hyperbolic.
He is underrated to me. |
Every time I watch First Things First, I can't believe how much better it is than all these other shows. The chemistry between the personalities, and the personalities themselves, are just the best right now.
I would sometimes watch Sharpe and Bayless, but I couldn't make it through one episode of Bayless and Sherman. And I don't watch anything with SAS, because I just don't want to be screamed at, plus he has some really dumb takes. |
Quote:
Keyshawn is not likeable. Richard Sherman is not likeable. Michael Irvin is not likeable. It's like watching a movie with absolutely no one you can tolerate. |
Undisputed is unwatchable-will it survive?
If it just goes away, will anyone miss it? I've only watched a handful of times. Bayless is useless, and the other personalities don't offer too much. When Sthannon was on, it was mildly interesting for a few clips, but that's about it for me.
|
It was never a great show to begin with but got markedly worse once Shannon left. Skip insulted Shannon when he said Brady was the far better football player than him (nevermind the fact that Brady's team cheated but I digress). I think at that moment the writing was on the wall for Shannon and he bolted.
|
Skip is too arrogant to save himself, too.
When Shannon left, he loved the smell of his own farts too much and figured it didn't matter who they brought in because he was still there. And maybe he tried to entice the best people, but they all turned him down because either their current gigs were far better or because they didn't want to deal with the on-air insults and complete idiocy. So he got his Cowboy buddy (who he says is better than Jerry Rice, btw) and ****ing Lil Wayne. Great idea, Skip. Lil Wayne is totally relevant these days. Huuuuuuuge draw, man. |
Who the hell likes Bayless? My best friends in NJ are diehard, and I mean diehard life long Cowboys fans, and even they hate him and don't watch.
|
he sucks bad...like really really bad. i wouldn't take money to watch that shit. i have no problems with sports debates but he just comes across as a guy that is making shit up solely for the purpose of pissing people off. I know everyone says your choice to watch...damn straight it is....id rather watch two midgets ****ing while wearing a cowboy hat and singing happy trails.
|
Question: I see some dislike Keyshawn, why?
I think he provides great insights. |

The issue is Skip and Irvin. They're a giant drain on the energy. Irvin can't talk and when he can talk he doesn't make sense, and Skip is a total rambler. He can't just say, "Here's what I think" throw out some stats and call it a day. Unless you do or say something that gets those guys shouting, it's the same stupid show it always was, except now it's also hella boring. |

For the "Why do you care what talking heads say?" crowd, I'm going to leave this clip here as an example of how this kind of stuff can be really fun and entertaining. It's not meant to replace or compete with the actual games. And it's not supposed to be about "rooting" for certain guys with certain takes like it's some WWE bullshit. And right now FTF is the absolute king of this kind of media right now. It's three guys having an ACTUAL conversation, and none of them are trying to score points or own the other guy. And this particular one isn't even FTF's greatest work, but it's a terrific example of what on-camera chemistry can do for a sports show. It doesn't have to be "Okay, I'll be Pro-X and you be Anti-X, got it?" like Skip's show always was with Shannon. And you don't have to solve big problems or provide hard-hitting analysis every freaking segment. It can be as simple as talking about nothing, which in this case is Kyle Shanahan's resume and legacy if he loses another Super Bowl. You engage each other with your honesty and your actual opinions, and you frame stuff in a somewhat unique way (the way Wildes framed the topic) and this kind of stuff will keep me entertained for hours on a car trip. |

And frankly he doesn't know squat about the sports he chooses to give his opinions on. (Edit: Perhaps he's a savant about the NBA or MLB - I hate them and don't watch them.) |

He seems to voice opinions on too much IMHO so any stupid or wrong shit is amplified. |

Even if I hated the Chiefs and Nick Wright, I'd still be into First Things First. You can't beat the chemistry that team has. If the debate ever gets heated or shouty, they find ways to diffuse it with some good humor so not to take themselves so seriously. You would never see a moment on that show where it's shout shout shout shout, and then the clock runs out and Boobs McGee chick host says, "Well, that was great! Coming up next... Lebron v Jordan for the 8000th time!" It's not my job to get you to like something, and I'm not trying to do that. I'm merely expressing what I enjoy about a few of these shows and why I'm into them particularly after the Chiefs are successful. I'm also being real about these shows as nothing more than entertainment, and how when they're done correctly, they add to my experience as a Chiefs fan, not detract. And for the ones that aren't done correctly, I usually don't bother watching them. Pretty simple. |

But following American soccer I do have to run into Lalas' dumb face a lot. He had a good career and he has been around for a long time but his schtick is really tired. He wants to so badly to be some contrarian edge lord at every single turn. He also has this habit of reducing every single thing to "well we scored and they did not" and its like.....ok man but you are here to talk about the game but you keep pointing to a thing we all know and shrugging like "it is what it is" I just stick to the games when I can. |
