Photo hosting, and a lifelong dream has come true
What sites do you guys use for photo hosting these days? I used to use tinypic, but then they went out of business. Then I used imgur, but they got weird. And I've tried Google photos but I'm old and I just don't get it. Any other ideas? I want to post some pics of my house I've been working on for over a year.
Also, a lifelong dream has come true, I now have one of these: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw...-gm?authuser=0 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw...-gm?authuser=0 It's a 96 with a one year engine option, the LT4 with six speed. Good for well over 350hp. I may die in it. |
Nice ride Bug.

Congratulations Bug.
|
Nice ride, the older I get the more I like the older and classics more.
|
Nice vette.
I’m having the same problem with pic sites. Hopefully someone will have a solution for both of us |
Damn nice ride!

10 terrabit drives are cheap and can be accessed from the cloud

Have you noticed your dick shrinking after purchasing the car?
|
Cool story. You should post some pictures somewhere for us to look at.
|
I think it’s called Instagram.
|
I use imgur, but the app is reeruned... I upload in the app and then have to use the link it creates in Chrome to grab the direct image URL.
imgbb is another option... https://imgbb.com/ Nice car. |

That's no 1996 V6 Camaro with 58,000 original miles...
|
Good to see you! That's a fine looking automobile.

https://i.postimg.cc/YCqcjqPp/temp-Imageg-CQYP8.avifYou would have to use the EMBED function within Instagram, rather than pasting the Instagram URL within image tags. But that suggestion was off the mark to begin with. I presume you want a solution that is a bit more...how do I say nicely...boomer friendly. Just use https://postimages.org. From there you can upload your image (and optionally resize it). Then you'll simply copy the desired output. I usually copy the DIRECT LINK and then paste that here, inside image tags [IMG] and [/IMG]. Voila! https://static.wixstatic.com/media/2...0Cover%204.png |

Nice ride! Congrats.
When I was shooting lots of soccer game pictures and sharing to the players and their parents, I used Smugmug. It's not free but the hosting is solid and sharing the pictures is easy to do. |
On general principle I have to deduct a point for painting brick, even though I'll note that the house looks great and much better than it did before.

These 2 things are okay.

That's a really nice looking ride. I wasn't a huge fan of the C4s for awhile, but in the last few years they're really starting to grow on me. And you can usually pick a nice one up for a relatively decent price. Nice work!

Great car Bug
|
sweet vett!
|
Probably never going to own anything that doesn't have 4-wheel drive but if I was going sports car I'd have to go with the non-feminine Porsche but corvette is classic cool.
Well, done either way. Unless there's some special requirements on image storage MS or any other cloud drive would do just fine. I'd recommend Proton myself. https://proton.me/drive |

Bug, that's a bitchin' ride!!!
Very nice and glad to hear from you. xoxo Lewdog |
Nice car Bug. I'm not much of a Vette guy, but I get the dream.
Well done on the remodel of the house. That looks really good. That I am more impressed with. |
Q: What's the LT4?
A: Cruising for babes! |

Nice! I have one as well. I will try to post a few pics later. My LT4 is absolutely pristine mint and unmodified with under 14k miles on it. Time Capsule. Feel free to DM me with any questions.
They are GREAT CARS!!! |

Pics of my '96 LT4.
Congrats again Bugeater! Have fun, these cars pull HARD! |
BTW, looks like those headlights are sagging a bit. I believe there is a rubber pad with a screw that you can adjust the headlight doors...been awhile. I would have to research it.
The gears on the headlight motors originally were nylon or some type of plastic (along with the bushings) they deteriorate over time, but it's a super easy fix to tear into the motors and replace the gears/bushings. So if they start binding up, that's usually the issue. That's is one of the few things I have had to do to my car along with the Brake Master Cylinder, Fluids, Belts and Hoses. I'm still on the OEM brake pads from 96, as my car has low mileage. Still had the OEM Goodyear Eagles when I bought mine during the pandemic. Now sporting Continental Extreme Contact. Looks like your car might have Chrome ZR1 wheels instead of the stock Sawblades. Also, these cars run HOT, it's NORMAL. All new C4 owners think their cars are overheating. It's entirely normal for these cars to get into the 230 degree range in the city or in traffic (trust the digital gauge over the analog) - Fans kick on around 227-228 and they will cool back down. :) |
Hey that's not a camaro.
I bet you're not even bald or sporting a goatee. Btw, nice ride dude! |

Nice but that's no Camaro. And where's your mullet?
|
Is it a real LT4 car or just stickers?

Freaking sweet, sir.
And I use Google personally and I can help show you some tips in person, I'll be around your neck of the woods August 7th and 8th. Jewel and Melissa Etheridge! |
That is quite the turn around on the place! The transition on the yard alone speaks volumes about the effort you've obviously put into it.
|
Dropbox keeps all my docs and photos. I also use Amazon photos.
|
What's the difference between the LT1 and the LT4 engine Bug?
|
Try and learn something new and go with Google.
I recently ponied up 5$ a month to Apple for extra storage. I spent a day putting stuff in iCloud. I'm sitting at 21,000+ now. It works well if you use your iPhone for pictures. Take one, it's there on all you devices. Delete one.. it's gone. I can only do any real searching unless I'm on my laptop. I've created a monster but a least the images are in two places now. |

I've never had any issues with it running hot tho, even when I'm driving hard. I do feel quite a bit of heat from the trans. I've fooled around with the headlamps, and I found a way to adjust the tops, but haven't found a way to adjust the bottoms. |

Damn nice car. Love the grand sports and they are going up in value with nice examples. It appears you have a nice one!
My father-in-law and myself are currently shopping for a clean C3. We want to go full hotrod with a blower, bug catcher and side pipes. |
