Chris Roland Wallace is currently sweating bullets...him and Nic Jones.
|
Veach has all my trust when it comes to defensive backs.
I will say that I'm surprised that we've signed Bailey Zappe before we've brought in a RB3, though. |

Seems insane to me, but I'm not going to question these guys. Clearly they just do not value the position anymore and think they can find guys on the street if the need arises. Crazy, but I'll trust them. |

It's just a little odd not going with a true RB3. |

Bush & RB Bailey to PS
|
Oh Bailey went to the PS, wonder if that means they are over Deneric Prince.

Loved Emani Bailey's college highlights, and thought he had a little spark in the third preseason game with his speed. Obviously he's undersized, so unsure of his ceiling.
Prince can get ****ed. |

I’d rather have Nick Jonas than Nic Jones

4.71, woof.

I mean ultimately you have to assume it was just a bad day, slow track or he was hurt. Because a 4.71 CB just won't play in the current NFL, IMO. There's sub-optimal speed and then there's THAT. 4.71 is rough for a safety. It's disqualifying for a CB. |
Appears he pulled his quad running the 40 the first time and pulled up down the stretch for that 4.7.
Latter efforts put him in the low/mid 4.4s. Okay - that works. That time just didn't make sense. You don't have those kind of explosion scores and run that slow. Figured there had to have been an injury in there. |

I'm not sure any of his tape looks like quicksand, fortunately. |

We just got another shut down corner folks

Whether the draft gurus substitute in the alternate times in RAS evaluations is another matter. |

I suspect the Cowboys got him to run for them and got a time in the 4.45 to 4.55 range and that's what got him drafted. |
Cowboys just did another Charvarius Ward
Actually, didn't we trade for Ward and not just claim him? |

They took Joshua Garnett with our 1st. He started 11 games for them before washing out of the league. So that worked out alright for us... (and yes, I got that one quite a bit wrong) |
Excuse me, good sirs, but it's Ehinger, not Ehringer

He's gone. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">We have signed Free Agent RB Samaje Perine.<br><br>We have signed CB Nic Jones and QB Bailey Zappe to the Practice Squad.<br><br>We have waived CB Eric Scott.<br><br>We have terminated the Practice Squad contract of RB Emani Bailey. <a href="https://t.co/pcmveuO7Ni">pic.twitter.com/pcmveuO7Ni</a></p>— Kansas City Chiefs (@Chiefs) <a href="https://twitter.com/Chiefs/status/1829601978957312506?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 30, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> https://media1.tenor.com/m/yTxA7WgkB...a-abe-exit.gif |
Bailey gone also...guess Scott was around for 5 seconds.

But who knows. |
Well...at least he didn't get far from home when he came up here.
Oof. |
People come and go so quickly around here.

Lot of teams have filled their PS already and may just not see adding him as worth the trouble. Sort of a musical chairs thing when it comes to PS spots. So if the Chiefs don't have a spot for him, they kinda did him dirty. Then again, if they waived Nic Jones to add him to the active roster, it clearly says they like him more than Jones. So should he clear waivers, it would see likely that they'd cut Jones from the PS to make room for Scott. Wouldn't surprise me if he gets claimed this time around, though. Some team says "Hell, if Spags/Veach wanted him, there must be something there..." |
I hope we at least paid for his parking.
|
Nic Jones played ST’s a lot this Summer. I bet they had Scott and Jones neck and neck and Toub got the final call due to Nic’s experience here already
