Talking about being cheap and cool...has Clark put AC in our training facility yet?

FlaChief58 08-28-2024 03:07 PM

Chase will hold out until after we play them to save himself the embarrassment of getting his ass kicked by the Chiefs.

PatMahomesIsGod 08-28-2024 03:08 PM

They’ll beat the Pats without Chase, so no real incentive for them to pay him prior to the week 2 matchup.

ToxSocks 08-28-2024 03:09 PM

He should hold out the entire season imho

i'm imagining the delicious whining from their fan base all season, how they are going to beat us in the playoffs with chase, and then they go out in the wild card round LMAO

"chiefs dodged joe brrr, lucky again"

Red Dawg 08-28-2024 03:16 PM

Chase wants Jefferson money and he wants it now. They may as well get it over with because it won't change. Higgins didn't want to play on the tag but is and late in the year if it's not going well he will get a run of the injury bug and hit FA.

It really is an embarrassment of riches for the Chiefs fanbase.

The seemingly endless on-going collapse of the Donk is balm for the soul.

Add the utter failure upcoming in Buffalo and Cinci and I just don't know what could be better.

Of course, Back-to-Back-to-Back has a nice ring to it.

Below is a post on a Bengals forum. This guy seems to be in favor of playing hardball with Chase. Good luck with that approach!

"The team is enabling this...We need to start fining Chase under conduct detrimental to the team for each practice he misses from this point onward. If he doesn’t practice next week, we should suspend him for 3 games as allowed under the CBA so he can’t collect game checks."

"The team has no duty to both renegotiate Chase's contract two years early and make him the highest paid player at his position. He is not negotiating in good faith and essentially wants it all. While Zac Taylor protected Chase all preseason, that time needs to end because it shows a clear bias towards Chase that we cannot and should not provide to others in the future. Start holding him accountable with the tools in the CBA. If that kills the relationship, so be it."

"When Tyreek Hill began to be a problem in KC about his contract wanting raises constantly, they shipped him to Miami. We shouldn’t be beyond moving Chase if we can’t get control of this situation. Two 1st Round Draft picks and a player could go a long way. You then resign Tee Higgins at $30M per year and move on. People say without Chase we won’t win a Super Bowl, but I say with this circus we won’t get it done either. We paid Burrow to be able to do what Mahomes does and that’s to win with what he has…we need to trust that decision."

Sassy Squatch 08-28-2024 03:51 PM

Bengals are trending dangerously high on the FAFO algorithm.

BossChief 08-28-2024 04:04 PM

I’m sure after Lamb got his bag, Chase (rightfully so) wants his.

I sure hope it gets ugly for them, they end up paying him and he never lives up to the contract.

Iowanian 08-28-2024 04:05 PM

Chase needs to wait one more year like everyone else.

Wisconsin_Chief 08-28-2024 04:08 PM

This should honestly surprise no one. Mike Brown was never going to allow this franchise to remain a threat. Burrow will end up pulling a Carson Palmer on them at some point, assuming Chris Jones doesn’t send him into early retirement himself first.

Considering Jefferson was a college teammate, he's going to do everything he can to top that contract, shit like that matters to these guys.

Two other receivers in Chase's draft class already got contract extensions this year, even though they still had 2 years left on their rookie deals.

DRM08 08-28-2024 04:32 PM

Mike Brown said he would do everything possible to get a new contract with Chase. If they play hardball this year, it just gets more expensive in the future. At least right now you still have 2 cheaper years to help lower the average cost per year with Chase.

A year ago the Bengals announced Burrow's contract during the Chiefs opening night game. Obviously it was a middle finger to Mahomes and KC. I would not be surprised if the Bengals do this again with Chase's new contract. And it's a middle finger to the Ravens as well since they are involved in the opening night game next Thursday.

I get why Mexican restaurants use alliteration like Taco Tuesday to get people to come by on the least busiest day of the week with a deal. But for someone to cook tacos at home on a Tuesday because "Heyyyy it's taco Tuesday hehe" is just ****ing infantile.

He's worked hard to get his mitts on every single share of the Bengals he can. After what Art Modell did to his dad in Cleveland, i'd bet he's scarred for life and he'll never give anyone even the smallest opportunity to pry the Bengals from his family, whether that's a realistic possibility or not.

Paranoia makes sense. But he needs that cash. He should do 2% for $100 million. That would really help on the Chase deal. And he still owns 98% of the team.

Yep. I've always said, give the Bengals 10 years and they'll catch up with the rest of the NFL. I had thought, recently, that now they were only a couple years behind but i could be wrong...
