This is the first Mahomes v Burrow matchup since the AFC Championship. I'm pumped.

I think we’ve got a better handle on attacking the bengals defense. our biggest issue was we were manufacturing tons of targets for guys like Pacheco and gray. They were daring us to throw to Mvs. If Hollywood is healthy we are in a terrific spot on offense. At worst our floor is to repeat last years solid offensive performance except hopefully this time we close drives.

On defense… Taylor and burrow have a decent pulse on us if we can’t get pressure. If they can slice us with browning they will do it with burrow. Question is if their WRs wil be anywhere near ready.

Bengals are still our rival.

We must crush them

They play the Pats. He won't get hurt.

Need to win this game. Don't want to hear the Burrow is 4-1 against Mahomes talk.

Starting 2-0 with 2 key tie breakers would be huge

Burrow isn’t going to miss simple throws like Lamar did. We’ll need to play better.

Burrow also won’t be evading pressure with a threat to beat you with his legs when the play breaks down.

You could see several times that our DL beat the OL and immediately had to break down so they didn’t lose contain, which still happened several times regardless.

For all his weaknesses as a QB, Lamar still poses an athletic threat on any given play that few others do.

Also glad that DJ Reader is gone.

Seemed like we could never move that guy.

Tee Higgins strained a hammy apparently. TBD if he plays against New England.

Lamar should have our pass rush and defense as a whole well conditioned for this one.

Let's be fair, here - Lamar juked and jived for 7 seconds before he threw the ball. There isn't a defensive back out there that won't be toast trying to guard after 7 seconds. Gardner Minshew would have probably completed that throw.

True but Likely is an ascending and athletic TE. Gesicki or whatever is a corpse.

I'm interested to see what the Bengals look like this week. And what's going on with Jamarr Chase.

I suspect he'll make a Chris Jones like return next week, after sitting out this week.

Yeah, I feel terrific about our secondary right now. Conner was all over the field. I’m sure Hicks will start getting more time as well.

Pass rush was pretty good but negated by Jackson to some extent. They should punish Burrow.

Run defense on Henry was mostly good.

Linebackers in coverage was the only real negative on defense. I wonder if they cheated a bit in watching/containing Jackson. Maybe the fear of his legs hurt them in coverage a bit.

Who knows. The defense should be good enough this year regardless. This offense could be really special.

Also shoutout to Turk Wharton, dude was everywhere last night

The worst performers I saw on defense were Herring and Bolton.

Goes without saying, but Kingsley vs. Trey Hendrickson is a tough matchup.

Kid is gonna need a lot of help there. At least more than last night.

Sheesh. Higgins is listed as doubtful and Chase is questionable.

I'm sure they'll both be playing next week, but you have to think they'll be a little rusty still.

He had a chance at a stop on 4th and 3 late in the 4th, but it is pretty hard to bring down Derrick Henry on your own.

They have even more issues than the Ravens.

The Bengals always start slow on top of that their defense has a lot of holes in it, their CB room looks like liquid shit.

Lowkey we’ve been crazy efficient vs the bengals the last 2 years. Which coincides with the time we had the least amount of wr talent. It includes significant injury where mahomes was hurt or his WRs were knocked out. Or the regular season loss two years ago where we just made dumb mistakes on offense. So that is our floor and we’re a better team this year. We have better players this year and cincy has gradually gotten worse with defensive personnel.

I also hate to be the “don’t show your best stuff” guy but I also think this being an early regular season game, we will be going more for the jugular versus prior seasons where we knew we’d see cincy in a few weeks.
