Let's talk Falcons
Playing the Chiefs on a short week
|
Can we at least spell their names right?
|
Thanks for the edit. LMAO

I'm interested to see if kirk looks a little better tomorrow than he did week 1
https://www.sportstalkatl.com/falcon...t-is-alarming/ |
Was listening to the radio Saturday morning.
Cousins still isn't right. He can't push off whatever leg is ailing him, and his movement and accuracy are terrible. The dudes on the radio were saying he doesn't look anything like the QB in Minnesota. I think our defense feasts. |
Quote:
But that huge contract makes it less likely the Falcons would bench him |
How is this a SNF game?
|
I'm surprised they didn't schedule the Bills next for us.

Do we keep Kyle Pitts under 100 yards?
Contain him and Bijon Robinson. I have no knowledge of any other skill position person on offense for them. |

Trap game. The Falcons are bad but we’re primed for a letdown after two big games and this turd before the Chargers who are going to be good under Harbaugh. If the Chiefs play decent they win. If they play well they dominate. If they play poorly they may win but Atl has a chance.
|
I don't think it matters what the rest of the Falcons roster looks like, because Cousins isn't right.
They actually have the tools to challenge us: I like the matchup of Judon against Kingsley, and of course they have the most physically gifted TE in the NFL. That's the recipe to beating the Chiefs right now. But it doesn't matter, because Cousins isn't right. Bijan Robinson is maybe the most electric player in the NFL right now, and he's going to really test our linebackers. And I don't know if we're fully up to the challenge of bottling him up? But it doesn't matter, because Cousins isn't right. I am not a big fan of their receiving corps, or their back seven. There's lots of places for both Spags and Reid to exploit. But literally none of that analysis matters. Because Cousins isn't right. |

we're going to win and make the handwringing about our offense look even more silly
|
On paper, Atlanta is really stacked in the secondary
|
I ****ing hate going against Jessie Bates. Dude has always been a giant pain in the ass against us.
|
Gonna be dialed in tonight to see what the Falcons look like against the Eagles. Not sure what to make of Cousins right now. Week 1 is so hard to evaluate now that so few teams play in the preseason. Our schedule over the next month is pretty rough, feels like we gotta have this one.
|
Last time the Chiefs played in Atlanta was the Eric Berry game winning two point attempt INT return.
And Albert Wilson was the Chiefs leading rusher that game... 1 carry for 55 yards. |
This should be an innocuous regular season game but the NFL did the Chiefs no favors by making it prime time. This will be Atlanta's Super Bowl.

We won, but it wasn't a great performance. You know these players and coaches are itching to get better, get in a game and give it another go. |

On paper, this team has the components to **** with us when we're on defense. If they get good/decent QB play, it's gonna be a dog fight. |
Quote:
It's Atlanta. They don't exactly have a culture of winning. |

Sunday Night Football. This will be Atlanta’s Super Bowl. Hopefully Mahomes will be a lot more careful with the ball. Don’t give the other team momentum and field position.
|
I'd really like to have a nice blowout game for a change (in our favor).
|
The theme this year for opponents is:
DEFENSE: Same story: Two high, and make us be perfect with multiple plays down the field. They're banking on Mahomes getting greedy or us abandoning the run (especially now that Pacheco is gone). They want us to have to convert numerous 3rd downs and settle for 3 points. No explosives (unless someone truly ****s up, like in the Ravens game). It's really the same thing that it's been the last two years, and is probably why we're always in tight contests. It's really the only play the opponents have. The good news is we have the best to ever do it under center. OFFENSE: They're looking to force the LBs into coverage, and are having success moving the ball with athletic, pass-catching TE's. I've noticed a decent amount of screen attempts as well as passes to the flats. They don't want to test our CB's except for Williams when he's out there. We are tough and have been tackling well, but if we can ratchet up the pass rush, I think we're going to really shut down some teams here soon. Looking forward to getting Omenihu back. |
I'd love to be wrong, but it's incredibly rare for a DL to come back from an ACL and instantly be the same player. Usually takes another season to be the same.
Hope Omenihu is a unicorn though. |
This one has noon game written all over it but alas
|
Better fix out shit at LT. Judon could make things very hairy for us.
|
We're better than the eagles and falcons.
|
We better be way better than we saw this week. Falcons are not to be ignored

Okay fellas. To help Kingsley and beat cover 2 we’re going full Harbaugh 13 personnel baby!
Sign Kareem and watch us destroy everyone <div style="width:500px;max-width:100%;"><div style="height:0;padding-bottom:54.8%;position:relative;"><iframe width="500" height="274" style="position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;" frameBorder="0" src="https://imgflip.com/embed/93q81q"></iframe></div><p><a href="https://imgflip.com/gif/93q81q">via Imgflip</a></p></div> |
Falcons announcers have HARD southern accents.
Next week I might have to roll out some country music if the game is good. LMAO |

I knew the NFL fans would melt down if f we went 2-0 but winning they way we did has made the reactions even better , now it’s time me to put the fear back into their hearts and blow theses ****ers away without Pacheco/brown, because for some dumb reason theses teams feel like they still have hope.

I saw him get 1 TFL at least. Chiefs better not sleep on the Falcons. They went to Philly and beat them with a 70 yd drive inside of 2 minutes with no time-outs. They got lucky to get the chance but they did take advantage against a decent team.

In my opinion, the key to this game is to get an early lead and keep the crowd and momentum on our side.
Their defense scares me much more than their offense although Bijan can get on a roll. |
Simmons, Bates, and Judon all have familiarity with us
It's a dangerous spot. Hope Andy and Nagy have some stuff up their sleeves. |
Quote:
Their defense is pretty solid. We should be fine although the rams defense made us look real bad last time around. But then, the falcons don’t have Aaron Donald so who knows. We should win this one but we need to show up. |
Always like our defense better against statue QBs, but Cousins has some quick outlets and I expect Bijan to be a problem.

I sure hope we can figure out what’s wrong with our defence against tight ends for this game. Otherwise Pitts could really kill us. But only if they are smart and use him more than they seem to want to.
Otherwise, I’m not too worried about their offense. McDuffie will shut down London. I don’t expect Mooney I have another game like he had last night. I think their running game is OK but not great so not too worried about that. Cousins looks like he’s getting back into form, especially in that last drive, so I am a bit worried about him. But not too much. Mahomes is going to have to play a better game than he did against Cincinnati. I think we still have enough talent with our WRs To beat them here. Who knows how we will handle the running game. Hopefully we have hunt back for this game. |
Pitts was great as a rookie, but only has 3 games over 60 yards since then.
Hopefully, we can contain him like everyone else has. Just gotta make sure Mooney doesn’t hit on a big play or two. I trust our pass rush to get to Cousins if he’s forced to slowly move down the field. Jalen Carter wrecked their OL a few times. |
Probably shouldn't be taking this game lightly. Not that anyone here is competing in the game.

Shit, we got beat by an abysmal Raider team last year. |
I like our defense playing a QB who you know where he's gonna be.
|
I think our LBs are well built to stop the run. Which is exactly what they want to do. And as said before if we build on that by jumping to a quick lead we’re golden. I think cousins on a healthy leg is one thing but you can tell he’s ginger even just from dropping back
|
Cousins basically admitted he can't properly drive the ball because his achilles isn't 100%. All you saw last night is the Eagles secondary isn't very good.
|
That D is not good. The front is NOT good. They've been fortunate to face the Stoolers and a fraud inaccurate QB missing AJB.
We better hang 35 on them. Mahomes is undefeated in domes. Should be a drama-free win and nothing less. |
Falcons have some talent, but the Chiefs are better and if they play as well as they can, this will be one of those games that will seem closer than it actually is... Chiefs will lead wire to wire and not really be in any danger of losing, but I could the score being something like 28-20 at the end.
Was glad to see the Falcons win Monday Night....an emotionally draining game to avoid going 0-2, and now a short week for them--should give us a slight additional advantage. |
Got to get pressure on Cousins.

I can appreciate that. |
Be a tough GAme. We are everyone's superbowl. They want to stop us from a 3peat.
|
Any team that beats us gets a week of fame and ball licking from the media and NFL fans , they all want to be the ones to slay the dragon .
|
Typically seems offenses like KC's gain a slight advantage in cross-conference matchups due to lack of familiarity, but we get butt****ed there with Bates and Simmons on the other side. Two safeties who have given Mahomes major fits.
If he balls out Sunday with a 3 TD / 0 INT performance, it would surprise me sadly. Then again, you could just target Mike Hughes and their LBs repeatedly. |

I expect another rough performance from the offense. |

I have a feeling our defense is going to look a lot better than PHI'S D did against ATL. My only concern is how the offense is going to look. Without Pacheco, the offensive efficiency will probably suffer some and make this closer than it really should be.
|
I'm glad they just came off a big, emotional win in a prime time game. Hopefully it will take a bit of the edge off of the "narfle the garthok" mania that every team we play has these days.
|
Be a good time for Kelce to remind everyone who the **** he is
|
I was at Arrowhead today. They expect a shootout.
|
It's going to be a tough game; DL pressure on the QB will be the deciding factor. On paper, the Chiefs are better than the Falcons however we all know it's not played on paper and will depend on how the game is called by the league (zebras).
