The curse has already started with Hollywood, Patches, and what appears to be a cooked Kelce.
Now I'd still bet on us BUT this shit is hard. |

Regardless of what happens it’s killer that the Chiefs are a team on that list.

We are trending somewhere between the 76 Steelers and 94 Cowboys right now.
'76 Steelers were ravaged by injury. Need to go on a win streak before we can sniff '90 49ers territory. |
The Chiefs can join the 1990 49ers as the only back-to-back Super Bowl Champions to start the next season 3-0 this weekend.
The 49ers also beat the Falcons in Week 3. |
As long as Kelce keeps being the focus of the defense I don't really care. We have other weapons actually so if we can keep him fresh as a decoy and avoiding hits I'm good with that.
|
Just getting Omenihu and Brown back around playoff time is going to be a big boost to a team that will be super dialed in by that point.

Week 3
2024 Chiefs: 3-0 2005 Patriots: 2-1 1999 Broncos: 0-3 1994 Cowboys: 2-1 1990 49ers: 3-0 1980 Steelers: 2-1 1976 Steelers: 1-2 1974 Dolphins: 2-1 1968 Packers: 1-2 |
Can you feel it?
The Chiefs are not supposed to be 3-0. There will be energy in the building this week. The Chiefs are not supposed to be 3-0. They were supposed to split the first two games. Age and the inevitable decline of greatness had to have set in by now. Hollywood Brown broke his dick and then Pacheco followed suit. The Chiefs are not supposed to be 3-0. They've somehow come within a toe, a fortuitous pass interference call and a 4th and inches from being 0-3. But here we are. On the very same incline the team that had the best chance to threepeat ever reached before us. Now they face a team that has been destroyed by injuries and 4-0 would almost assuredly have them on a path for the one seed. The feeling we feel tonight will only grow with another win. Can you feel it? The Chiefs are not supposed to be 3-0. |

We’re supposed to be 3-0…in back to back to back Super Bowls is the main goal, though. |
It's a nice bonus to follow the 1999 Broncos dumpster fire of a season in this thread.

An undefeated 3-peat would really put Mahomes over the top.

Saw this on the Wikipedia page for the 1990 Niners: "Montana had the NFL's highest salary in 1990 at $4 million, and the 49ers had the league's highest team payroll ($26.8 million)." And now look at the 2024 cash flow for these overpaid QB's compared to prime Montana... https://i.ibb.co/1d5N21J/2024-09-27-18-13-24.jpg |

You think you've got the grit and determination to threepeat? The sweating hasn't even begun yet and we're just the fans. Wildcard Super Bowl is still a box unchecked

The Chiefs move to 5-0 on the season.
They join the 1990 49ers as the ONLY teams to start 5-0 following back to back Super Bowl wins. The 49ers did it with six TD passes. The Chiefs did it with six, uh...scores? Works for me. Onward and upward! Enjoy the dynasty. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GZVnxzeX...jpg&name=large |

Imagine if the current KC Chiefs had the 1990 salary cap rules. You would still have Tyreek Hill, LJ Sneed, Demarcus Robinson, Willie Gay, probably Orlando Brown, etc. |
imagine being the first team ever to win 3 in a row and then add being undefeated at the same time because that's what I'm thinking is about to happen. That increases the epic factor by a lot IMO

It is official now. The Chiefs are in the rarest of air. They are neck and neck with the 49ers, and accelerating. 7-0 seems likely. If they get to 8-0, 10-0 is on the table.
If they get to 10-0...an undefeated season is possible. |

Like our Chiefs, those Niners were sloppy at times. A pair of INTs for Montana? No matter. The defense was strong enough to win the day. It's not always pretty. But being right here, right now, in this moment, is beautiful. We're on to Week 7. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GaX-ajSW...name=4096x4096 |

The San Francisco comparison shows how difficult not only the undefeated season but also the three Pete is. The 49ers had one of the greatest teams. But they missed out on a Super Bowl by a fumble by Roger Craig at the end of the game. I still remember that

No rally required. But...take note of those 49ers wide receiver injuries, and stingy run defense. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ga71ONRX...name=4096x4096 |
