A 32 year old ‘has been’ leading off? Hard to call him a ‘has been’ when he never was. Just sad.

ChiefsCountry 09-21-2024 03:40 PM

Offense still ass

CasselGotPeedOn 09-21-2024 03:49 PM

Welp, this game is probably over already.

Nightfyre 09-21-2024 03:54 PM

So which three batters should we add next year?

ChiefsCountry 09-21-2024 03:55 PM

Both ****ing homers exact same spot, exact same pitch

KCUnited 09-21-2024 03:56 PM

Welp it was a good run

SithCeNtZ 09-21-2024 03:56 PM

Singer is so soft mentally.

ChiefsCountry 09-21-2024 03:57 PM

That's why they went after Chapman this offseason

DCTwister 09-21-2024 03:57 PM

Royals are cooked. They MAY back into the playoffs but it has 2-game scoreless sweep all over it. But odds are at this point they won’t make it anyway. I’ll be at 1-2 of the DC games this week to give my best efforts since I am here and those games are highly consequential, but man they just ran out of gas.

Pablo 09-21-2024 03:57 PM

Was about to switch over but nah...

Watched KU football's season end already today, don't need to double up with this squad

Boxer_Chief 09-21-2024 03:59 PM

I wouldn’t miss a game all year and the last two nights I’ve just given up after the first inning when the other team scored because I know we can’t score a single run.

The most fragile SP in the league.

It's insane but he has some stuff to be a really, really good pitcher.

ping2000 09-21-2024 04:12 PM

This team couldn't beat its way out of a wet paper bag. Bobby Witt and a bunch of shit.

CasselGotPeedOn 09-21-2024 04:15 PM

Bobby has to be kicking himself for signing that deal with this garbage franchise.

SithCeNtZ 09-21-2024 04:22 PM

Can’t believe Frazier hasn’t worked out in the lead off spot. All stats would tell you he should succeed. Truly a mystery.

TLO 09-21-2024 04:26 PM

Awful

CasselGotPeedOn 09-21-2024 04:28 PM

Who cares if they end up backing into time playoffs anyway. I highly doubt they even score a run in 2 games.

KCUnited 09-21-2024 04:29 PM

I miss scoring runs

TomBarndtsTwin 09-21-2024 04:52 PM

This team is DONE.

Will finish getting swept tomorrow by Snell.

Maybe get one out of three against Nats on the road.

And then get swept by Atlanta to finish the season since they’ll still be fighting for a playoff spot.

I don’t know if they’re soft and they have just given up or they’re just tired and worn down and don’t have anything left to give?

Whatever it is, they’re done this season. Time to close the book on 2024.

Some significant (and obvious) areas to address this offseason.

Hopefully Sherm is willing to open the checkbook since he wants his new stadium.

ChiefsCountry 09-21-2024 04:52 PM

ping2000 09-21-2024 04:55 PM

I know they care, they just suck other than Bobby. Sal looks old. Only a very few others should even be on a major league roster.

KC_Connection 09-21-2024 04:56 PM

Fans abandoning them this easily? Look up the 2006 Cardinals. They'd be far from the first mediocre team to get in and go on a run.

TomBarndtsTwin 09-21-2024 04:57 PM

I mean, I know losing Vinnie was a big blow to this team and lineup, but if they’re THIS bad without him, we’ve got a LOT bigger problems than Vinnie.

Didn’t realize how devoid of leadership this team was without Vinnie. No one there to take on his role and motivate the guys.

Anyone know what Raul Ibanez is doing these days??

Hammock Parties 09-21-2024 04:58 PM

This team has lost 6 in a row with a playoff spot on the line to close the season. They’ve scored 4 runs in 37 innings now, not for a lack of opportunities.

This team has ZERO chance of getting in and going on a run. ZERO

The Tigers are just as bad as the Royals and just choked the game away to the Orioles. It's exceedingly likely that KC is still making it; they may not even have to win more than a game or two to do it.

Detroit is the hottest team in the AL since the ASB and have won 10 of their last 13. They’re on another level than the Royals right now. They also close with three at home against the White Sox.

They’re making it.

SithCeNtZ 09-21-2024 05:13 PM

Tigers are going to win. Orioles falling apart.

chiefsfan987 09-21-2024 05:14 PM

of course detroit is still going to win. GD Baltimore runner at second and third nobody out and you can't score him.

Umm, check again.

The Tigers are up 6-4 on the Orioles in the 10th.

They did choke the game away before that in the 9th, but the Orioles didn't tag up for no good reason.

Either way, the Tigers are not a very good team and two of these AL Central mediocre teams have to end up making it given how bad the AL is. The Royals are still the odds-on favorite to do so right now despite you abandoning them.

Actually I think its one of the biggest turnarounds in MLB history, but yeah, I get the disappointment in squandering this starting pitching and a Bobby MVP caliber season...

...but as a reminder we lost 106 games last season

Not even close even if it happened.

The 1987 Toronto Blue Jays season was the franchise's 11th season of Major League Baseball. It resulted in the Blue Jays finishing second in the American League East with a record of 96 wins and 66 losses. They had been in first place by 3½ games over the Detroit Tigers with a week left to play, but they dropped their next seven games in a row, capped off by a sweep at the hands of Detroit at Tiger Stadium on the last weekend of the season, and lost the division by two games.

The Jays were even worse than this mediocre Royals team and that was evident by May.

And slinging shit? I'm telling you the odds are in their favor and you're ignoring them for no good reason. You remind me of the people who wrote off the Chiefs after the Raiders loss last year. None of this matters as long as they get in the playoffs.

VAGOMO 4 LIFE! 09-21-2024 05:44 PM

The only saving grace is that the royals do better against good pitchers

Yes, the overall season is a BIG turnaround and huge improvement, but the collapse is pretty all time bad.

Just six days ago they were 6 up for a playoff spot and almost ready to clinch. Now they’re 1 up and Detroit and Minny are likely to go flying right on by.

If they can’t beat a below average SF team at home, I fail to see how they’re gonna win even 2-3 games on the road vs. Wash. and Atlanta.

Why Not? 09-21-2024 06:35 PM

Some of you guys may not know much baseball history (and that’s ok). This won’t even be close to an all time collapse.

Still sucks and brings a fun season to an “out like a lamb” type finish but no one wil think much of it again after next week.

In OVERALL baseball history? No.

For the Royals? Absolutely.

This time a week ago we were 6 games up on a playoff spot going for a sweep of the Pirates. Now? Yikes

If they don’t end up making the playoffs (and that’s probably pretty damn likely at this point), then yeah, it’s a pretty ****ing big all time collapse for the Boys in Blue.
