Breaking news: Chris Jones is good at football.
This is an absolutely asinine statistic, that I learned thanks to Matt Verderame in this video, starting at 57:54:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/AuB2cbw2OI0?si=LUIJSwh1rSBcZpDA" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> It concerns a statistic Brandon Thorn invented called Pressure Quality Ratio. It measures the quality, rather than the quantity, of passrushes in an effort to determine the frequency of clean 1-on-1 passrush wins. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GaGTyuRW...pg&name=medium If Jones continues at this pace, he will double the record that was set by Myles Garrett in 2023 of 3.47. This is Brandon Thorne's X page, enjoy the data. |

He's been amazing this year. Props to him. Proven people who doubted him (includes me) wrong. Love it
|
BUT we could have kept Sneed!!!!!

Has there ever been a more versatile defensive lineman that has played for the Kansas City Chiefs (that's my favorite team btw)?
Remember his first couple of seasons, he was really good at being the RE in the 34 defense. Then they switched to 4-3/nickel and moved inside and really started dominating. Later in his career he started lining up at end on passing downs and dominates that. Truly a hall of fame level player. |

There should be an all-time traitors, losers and cowards list. That would be on it. |
Hmmm, I told y'all he was worth all the money he wanted.

Where would he rank as an all-time Chiefs defensive player? You have DT, Bell, Lanier, Buchanan, a few others that could be up there. Chris Jones is so dominant. He has to be up there high.

Greatest Chiefs defensive player ever will come down to DT vs CJ yes.
Imagine having paid Sneed all that to watch him sink back down a bit and see Jones somewhere else on pace for DPOY....that would be heart wrenching |

I knew all along if they stuck with him he would eventually become a player

Here, in the second Monday Night Football game ever played, Bell sacks Unitas so hard that Unitas bounces. This was in the first year after the merger and Unitas had been one of the biggest mouths trashing the AFL. The Colts ended up winning the Super Bowl in this season, but in this game the Chiefs pounded the Colts 44-24. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8SLdCCaK7nc?si=WorLGVVfOUWGqgB6" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

It's like you all erased the first 14 playoff games CJ played where he was invisible except for roughing the passer calls. Give DT 19 playoff games, and I assure you he would've matched CJs whopping 2.5 ****ing sack number. By my count, DT still has 4 games of pure nothing he could get away with by comparison, as he only played in 10. Jones has stepped up his post season game, the past couple seasons, but get ****ing real here. Dude was invisible man for longer than DTs 10 game stretch. |

Like Justin Houston was a good example of that, athletic freak. Hali was far better standing than I think anyone could have realistically predicted. It did help a lot that they found a pair with Houston that could do it all so Hali could do what he was good at. |

Rename the Gotthard Base Tunnel the Chris Jones Fleshlight right ****ing now!
|
My former co-worker at the middle school who's a Bills fan now lives in Buffalo. He told me a cool story that Chris Jones is loved by all Bills fans. Apparently he defended Buffalo wings on Twitter against some other NFL player trying to rip on the city.
|
His only apparent weaknesses are selecting agents and fitting into tight NFL Combine workout wear.
|
He's also like #1 or #2 in double teams too. He's getting double teamed by actual OL most of the time and not just getting chipped by a RB/TE. What he is doing is ****ing ridiculous and if we had Omenihu all season, then I think one of them is pushing 12+ sacks.

Most big moments in big games turned due to DT. He was the sack/strip king. And his team never had the kind of lead that allowed him to pin his ears back and rush the QB in the playoffs. In fact there was all kinds of special stupidity like pulling him out of games for better run stuffing players (vs. the Bills.) It might also be worth mentioning that right now teams would stab their grandmother for good O lineman. They just don't make 'em like they use to. |
Chris Jones needs to be sat out of this game, no matter what. I don't care if its the lightest grade calf strain. Too much mileage for a body that big the last couple of weeks. Injury risk goes up exponentially when you have an existing injury to even orher ancillary parts of the body.
