Hell yeah, nice.
I'd been banging this drum for a while. |
6th round pick
|
Fantastic! Was thinking corner but Edge works for me!
|
They did it!
Who? |
**** yeah.
|
Oh I like...
Uche's a real nice rotational pass rusher. He doesn't really do anything else to speak of, but that's fine. That's some good 3rd down juice and probably didn't cost much at all. |

24.1% pass rush win rate…. Good God
|
2026 5th round pick what they gave up
|
This is the speed rusher they have been looking for.
|
Why would NE give up such an asset?
|
2026 Sixth round pick for him.

Well I’’ll be darned.
I was just reading about how TB should make a play for this guy before the KC game. Like half an hour ago. |

Could this FINALLY be the true LEO we've been thinking Spags may try out? That's a Gus Bradley trick but I've always thought that we might give it a spin with some 4-3 under sort of stuff. |

Don't want to jump to conclusions, but I wonder if this indicates Omenihu and/or Danna might be out longer than anticipated?
|
No seriously folks, this is TURNKEY 4-3 Under.
Because of Chenal. You can use Chenal as a hybrid 'backer and drop him down in-line as an SDE. Then you can slide the rest of the DL over a gap and push the Weakside DE out to a wide position. Chenal makes this possible because of his ability to operate on the line. It's a pure hybrid look that we could use really REALLY well. We're gonna see some cool shit with Uche as a Leo rusher. I'm sure of it. |

I would still love a cb or lt. But this is a ridiculous steal
|
11.5 sacks in 2022? LMAO
Spags is going to cook hard now. |
Still want a CB
|
Wow great ****ing move. We're really going to 3peat, aren't we?
|

And you don't have to do it that way every time because Uche has played coverage looks in NE. He's not great at it, but he's no worse than Chenal. So really, you could flip that look at times if you wanted to. Or you could do all sorts of weird zone blitz shit with it. He's a fantastic chess piece for Spags, IMO. Especially when Omenihu comes back because Omenihu can be that same guy as Wharton is under that front, but better. |

**** yeah! I loved this guy coming out.

What a ****ing deal. He signed for peanuts IIRC surprising because he can get to the QB
|
Was he on a one year deal this year?

I like this trade on the front side, but IMHO we need some back side help.
Just think we are getting Charles back sometime. |

Call up the Jets about Adams.
|
This is an absolutely awesome move.
Our DL is going to be so, so good when Omenihu is back. |

Burt Vartch does it again!!!
|
Excited about this guy. He can get after the QB!
|
I wonder how much of this is the Pats going "Yea **** the Bills"
|
A good pass rush is an average CBs friend…

Alright then, there it is, we ride or die with the secondary that we got, let’s go!

Covert him to LT and LFG!!!!

I wonder if this means anything about Omenihue's timeline.

11.5 sacks in 2022. Damn.
|
I don’t think there’s anything to read into it. It allows us to take our time with omenihu and when we get him back we have lots and lots of scheme flexibility. And we get this all pretty much for free

I’ve took the stance for awhile that counting on Omenihu to be his 2023 self is a little ignorant to what history shows.
Best case, he starts looking normal by the playoffs. |
Plus he can spy Lamar in the playoffs…he ran a 4.58 40 time
|

This doesn't say anything about Omenihu. If anything it suggests to me that they do expect him back or this isn't the kind of guy they'd be adding. He complements a Danna/Omenihu sort just perfectly. |
That Cam Thomas trade has been a bust. Hopefully this ends up better.
|
This may be the best DL Spags will have here.
|
Andy said today they think they’ll be fine at corner. Guessing this was part of that thought.
|
Omenihu and Uche are nothing alike, Uche is a speed rusher that doesn't defend the run and can play hand down or standing up...Omenihu is a power rusher DE/DT hybrid.
Trading for Uche has no bearing on Omenihu this just gives the Chiefs a player they didn't have, our entire rush is based on power, having a speed guy allows for some different looks and gives the offense something else to deal with. |

Could also mean they don't believe BJ Thompson will play this year. This guy looks like a much better player though.

Here’s 1 comment from the Bills forum and there’s plenty like this in their thread about the trade. This is a great move by the Chiefs:
“For a freaking 6th rounder in 2026. NE basically gave him away! WTF NE!!!!” |
Quote:
That was my biggest concern, but Spags has shown the ability to get guys ready to play increased roles when we need them. Remember when we told Ken Fuller to play safety midway through 2019? And he was pretty damn good? |
Great move

Uche beating Wanya last year
