Does Anyone Else Here Pick Every Game, Every Week?

Just wondering if there is anyone else here who does that

Not talking about fantasy football, or getting into the weeds with point spreads... just straight up picking winners and losers

I've been doing it for over 20 years for shits and gigs, no money involved its just for personal amusement... its just kinda fun to test my knowledge of how teams are doing

Graystoke 11-19-2024 03:48 PM

We do a weekly pick em pool.
Then come playoffs we do a bracket pool.

Do you do a 16-leg parlay for 10 bucks or something?

Otter 11-19-2024 03:52 PM

I used to think I was smart until Dartgod allowed me into the gambling thread.

As God is my witness I thought turkeys could fly.

Nope, no parlays no gobbledygook... just picking who I think the winner will be

George Liquor 11-19-2024 04:01 PM

Nah not every week. But I do on the weeks I plan on sports betting.

Hell, if you track your success rate might be worth considering if you're accurate.

If you've historically hit on 10 of 16, maybe you put $5 bucks down each week for your top 10 and see if you get a nice little payout every now and again.

Rasputin 11-19-2024 04:07 PM

I used to back in the early 2000nds, work pool, but I'd pick the 49ers each week and they 'd lose each week. I couldn't wrap my brain around that they sucked after the 90s.

:hmmm: yeah I usually have a winning record, thats something to think about

MahomesMagic 11-19-2024 04:16 PM

Last year made 6K betting.

This year has just been brutal. A couple easy wins here and there but lots of land mines and teams doing irrational shit. Down 1K and I'm not playing again till the playoffs.

Easy 6 11-19-2024 04:16 PM

Ok here goes with this seasons record thus far, if anyone else picks them all please share with the class

14-2
6-10
9-7
9-7
6-8
13-1
10-5
11-5
13-2
8-6
10-4

Marcellus 11-19-2024 04:32 PM

Its really not that hard to do without having to pick against the spread.

I have been in a pickem league for a while now but you have to pick against the spread. I'm over .500 for my career but not by a ton.

Was curious about this year and just did the math- We pick 24 games a week because we do a number of college games as well.

12 weeks in I am 150-138 so 12 games above .500. Not great but a winner in Vegas.

philfree 11-19-2024 04:51 PM

I've done a pick'em for years with around 10 other guys. $5.00 a week and $20.00 for the overall. I ran it but it got to be a pain in the ass to get everybody to pay and then people bitch because they think they got cheated even though I'd kick out the non payer. I quit doing it three or four years ago but now a buddy set one up for just a few of us with no money involved. One guy in our group had a perfect week this year and I only missed one that week.

I've gone 14,6,8,8,9,13,11,11,12,10,10 so far this year.

You have a .656 win rate against a sample size of 166 games.

On weeks where there's 16 games, you're right on 10 of them.
On weeks where there's 15 games, you're right on 9 (almost 10) of them.
On weeks where there's 14 games, you're right on 9 of them.

You could reasonably put down $10 bucks a week on the 8 games, or hell, 5 games, you're most confident on and potentially do well.

.656 is sounding kinda shitty, I need to pump those numbers up lol... thanks for the analysis

I do a weekly $5 pick straight up winners pool. There’s like a hundred people in it. There is a weekly cash prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and a big prize for season long 1st-3rd. I won it last year and pocketed like $2K. I suck this year.

CatinKS 11-19-2024 05:53 PM

I have been picking games for fun and free contest for 10 years. The following link tracks all your picks straight up or vs spread. If you choose the fan button next to expert you'll find the best pickers. Then add to your favorites. I pay the $9/yr to see the top 10 in pros and college. My win percentage for the spread is less than 50% , hence it reminds me not to gamble. Though I'm picking all games not just a few.

https://nflpickwatch.com

The top picker SU is 124-41 75.2%

The top picker spread is 104-59 63.8%

Demonpenz 11-20-2024 02:24 AM

I am up my wins and losses to +30 wins this past week against the spread. PM me 20 dollars for my 3 locks of the week

tyecopeland 11-20-2024 06:39 AM

No, but one of my buddies goes and predicts every game for every team at the end of preseason. He's done it for like 20 years now.

DrunkBassGuitar 11-20-2024 06:52 AM

I do ESPN's pick 'em, started pretty recently though. I'm 69-50 which isn't great but not terrible. I'm ranked like 462,000 lol

Old Dog 11-20-2024 08:07 AM

ESPN's Pick Em is all I do with my normal fantasy league. Part of our transaction fees go to the top two finishers ($150 and $100 respectively). This season I'm one game out of first so far at 115-51.
Ranked 70th in the Chiefs fans group and 7,970 overall

Win totals by week are 13,7,8,9,10,14,13,11,10,10,10

Dartgod 11-20-2024 08:44 AM

I'm in a pick 'em league against the spread, using confidence points. I'm not doing so great this year.

chiefzilla1501 11-20-2024 09:46 AM

I do in the office. It’s a lot of fun. Kinda cool to do something where everyone can participate. Lots of good shit talking when someone who doesn’t watch any football beat out the football diehards

Rain Man 11-20-2024 11:13 AM

I pick the Chiefs to win every week. Fifteen years ago my record was terrible, but in recent years I seem to have become much better at it.

BigRedChief 11-20-2024 12:55 PM

Gambling became legal down here a few years ago. I’ll use the only legal app, hard rock bet.

I’ll play parlays more than straight pick every game.

Megatron96 11-20-2024 06:10 PM

I used to, mostly in the office/work pool. Had a streak where I won the annual pool 6 years in a row. Probably averaged about 9 correct picks/week. Think the best I ever did was 13 or 14 correct picks in a week.

These days, I throw a $2 bet at a 7-8 game ML parlay every week. Last year I hit one 7-legger. But most of the time I'm wrong about 1-3 games/week. Last 4 weeks I've been wrong on about half/week.

ToxSocks 11-20-2024 06:13 PM

I do a weekly pick 'em, straight up, and won for the first time this year just two weeks ago. Won about $200, got every game right.

Hats off, uhhh

Just for shits, I went on my ESPN Bet app and picked every winner I legit think hits this week. Couple of upsets in there. $10 pays about $3K. But I’m a pussy so I bumped it down to $1. Will still win like $300 if they hit. May do that every week the rest of the year.

Megatron96 11-22-2024 07:14 PM

So, just for giggles, I'm posting my 9-leg ML parlay here.

TB
MIA
HOU
WAS
KC
DET
DEN
GB
ARI

$10/$130

If the wx were better, I'd take MIN as well, but it's going to be wet and very windy, and I just don't trust Darnold at all right now. And I never include the SNF/MNF in my parlays; I can't wait that long to find out if I won.

jjchieffan 11-23-2024 08:50 AM

I do but I don't write it down or track it in any way. I should though. It would be interesting to see how I do. I just look at every game and decide who I expect to win.

philfree 11-23-2024 11:48 AM

I'm surprised that there's not a pick'em in the gambling thread. We've always used Yahoo for the pick'em we did/do. Years ago we would just circle the winners on a sheet of paper and turn them in. The good old days!

Yes, Elks weekly pick em pool. I’m on a roll this week, since I picked the Browns!

Glad you are, my week has started poorly... didn't have Cleveland upsetting Pitt on my bingo card
