Be a good Andy Reid backup fixer upper.
|
Got that bag and ran.
Jones played the game well |
I wondered why they weren't releasing him when he gave that press conference. It was clear that they told him that he wasn't playing for them again under any circumstances to avoid potentially triggering the injury guarantee.
And if that's the case, he shouldn't even be practicing with them. And if THAT'S the case, why is he on the roster? This made far too much sense. It almost makes me wonder if the Giants actually did it. |
He was unranked recruit out of HS... played average at Duke... got drafted in the first round by the NYG... lol. Got paid 9 figures.
Good job, Jones. |
Wow. He got some cash. He will be the new Flacco. Hang around forever.
|
Just who could have known this was coming. He just looked like a transcendent talent. We all thought he would be the next Montana, Elway. How could you give up on such an amazing talent and draft a guy instead? Maybe they can trade for Deshaun or Zach Wulson! Sorry Giants fans. Nobody told you so. Nobody.

giants giving up for the year

I have no idea how to unlock it - he might just be a stupid player. But he has plus athleticism and throws a really nice ball when he has a pocket and solid weapons. He's limited, but so are 2/3 of the QBs in this league. He should definitely have a long career as a backup but I wouldn't be shocked to see him latch on again as a starter somewhere in the next 2-3 years. |
He already made shit tons of cash, and now will be a very decent backup for 10 more years. He's really a perfect backup QB.
That said, God it must suck to be a fan of some of these teams. I can't believe this used to be our world. I will never go back, damn it! NEVER! :) |
Well, that de-escalated quickly.
|
Friendly reminder that the report from Rich Eisen at the combine said the Giants were “done with Daniel Jones”.
Daboll desperately wanted Maye and they tried like hell to trade up for him. Shitty position for Daboll to be in |

Can he play LT?
|
That dude don't look quite human. Not sure why
|
I'm not even sure the Raiders would pick him up.
|
Jets and Giants are two trainwrecks.
|
Go watch that offseason Hard Knocks you can literally watch Daboll and Schoen have conversations about "We didn't pay a QB 40 million dollars to hand off to a 15 million dollar RB" and "We are giving him offensive weapons we'll know pretty quick if we need to move on"
|
Thats one of the worst pay a QB decisions in quite awhile.

The Giants should be cutting the dumb****s running the franchise. |
They are tanking for Shedeur or Ward…
|
The Giants have won two Super Bowls since I became a football fan. Both were surprises and it feels like they haven't been good outside of those two years for a long time.

That |
Pretty sure it's literally impossible for him to be rostered right now by the Cowboys, but wondering if they're actually planning to claim him or have some sort of back door handshake deal already in place and some overzealous intern heard about it

Too bad he cannot go back to college. He would fit in well at Iowa.

Honestly, I have nothing against Daniel Jones. Hope he succeeds elsewhere.

Would be hysterical if DAL picked him up and started him vs. NYG.
But this was always the foreseeable ending for Danny Dimes. HE's just not very good. I think the only real hope he has of becoming a viable stater, not an elite or top-10 starter just serviceable, is to find a team that wants a Ryan Tannehill-type PA QB. He could maybe stay in the league another 3 or so years and putter along if he could find that kind of fit. |
|
A "nurturing head coach"? WTF is this shit?
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Daniel Jones wanted to spend the rest of this season with a playoff contender, around a nurturing head coach such as Kevin O’Connell. The Vikings met all qualifications. <a href="https://t.co/PWiBJ9qz0N">https://t.co/PWiBJ9qz0N</a></p>— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1861797183768387838?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 27, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
He wants to emulate Sam Darnold’s reclamation in Minnesota.
|
Probably should have said QB friendly instead of nurturing but ok I get it.
|
Jones nailed it. He’s gotten 10s of millions…..is young, not a lot of major injuries.
He won the lottery. If I were him I’d build my dream home and spend the rest of my life being awesome every day, and not need a knee replace t at 50. |

What’s Nate Taylor say?
|
Daniel Jones won a playoff game against the Vikings. In Minnesota.
Can't make this stuff up. |
That verbiage makes me think of one of the games last season. Jones was getting demolished in seemingly every drop back. He made some bad plays and every time he went back to the sideline Daboll had this look like “wtf are you doing?”, “wtf did you see?, “why did you do that?” almost like how you’d treat a small child..
Just wasn’t good optics for a coach on game day. You’d never see Andy doing something like that. |

Not bad to have Daniel Jones as a backup QB for the stretch playoff run...
|
If any HC/OC can fix Danny Dimes, it’s going to be KOC.
However, I wouldn’t hold my breath. Danny is probably not ever going to be a quality starting QB. Too many flaws/weaknesses in his game, imo. But KOC did wonders with Darnold, so who really knows? |
I was wondering who he'd latch on to. Not a bad signing to be a backup I presume.
|
I doubt he’d even be a decent backup right now. Way too inconsistent and unpredictable, two things you can’t really do as a successful backup. This feels kind of like my buddy when he buys old cars and tries to fix them up. Danny might be just a hobby/project.
|
lol the sports 'journalists' with their headlines
What does this mean for Sam Darnold and JJ McCarthy?!?!?!? It means they want a backup with some experience for Sam Darnold going into the playoffs |
Probably the funniest, and stupidest nickname ever given by the dumb mother ****ers in New York is "Danny Dimes".

“Looking pissed off” is a bit of a disingenuous way to describe this. Like you said, Daboll may be a good coach. I don’t know, but I’d bet the “nurturing coach” comments are directly spawned from that sort of behavior. If he’s got no problem treating his QB that way during a primetime game with millions watching there’s a solid chance it was far worse day-to-day in the facilities. |
I’m of the impression he gave himself that nickname after starting 5 or 6 games. I can’t remember why I think that though

Two things can be true. Jones is a shit QB AND Daboll is a Patriot Way ****tard.
|
Quote:
I insisted that Daboll getting the Giants to the playoffs with Jones is no more impressive than Nagy taking the Bears to the playoffs with Trubisky, and that like all Patriot douchetards, he would eventually collapse his own brief success because that's what they all do. The guy was like, "NUH UH DABOLL DOES THINGS DIFFERENTLY HE WASN'T AROUND BELICHICK LIKE YOU THINK HE WAS HE'S THE NEXT ANDY REID!!!" |
I think Jones is actually a better QB than Sam Darnold. Really hard to suck in the Vikings offense. Whoever pays Darnold in the offseason will be the laughing stock of the league by next year at this time.
