I'm going to guess a very light load on Friday for both of these guys; maybe 10-15 snaps per...?

So like you’re projecting 6 sacks :thumb:

I'd love it. But I will guess Andy treats this like a pre-season game for them. Let them get a little contact, but not more than maybe two series a piece.

Can't wait to see Pacheco back on the field, with Kareem.

On the other hand, not sure what to expect from Omenihu. Hoping for the best, but expecting him to look rusty and not quite up to game speed yet.

Omenihu is going to be a monster down the stretch.

That's my hope. I think that in 3-4 weeks he's going to be as good as we can expect for the playoffs. But like most players that have been away for awhile, I think he'll start slow and build up to it.

Well, Kareem made it. He did an incredible job carrying such a burden on his shoulders the last couple months. Looking forward to seeing Kareem & Pacheco sharing the burden as we move forward. One hell of a 2-back punch. Throw in Perine as well and it's a great trio.

With all the bad luck with injuries we’ve had this season, we might be the healthiest we’ve been all year come playoffs. Threepeat incoming!!

crayzkirk 11-27-2024 08:57 PM

The defensive line has been, IMO, the issue with the defense. With less time, opposing QBs won't have near as much time to pick on 27 and 13.

It seems that if there's a perfect pass or near impossible catch to make, teams do that against the Chiefs. Or is it that I just watch the Chiefs and that happens to every other team?

InChiefsHeaven 11-27-2024 09:05 PM

Man. It's happening. We're gonna three peat. I can feel it. The world weeps...**** the world...

Perine is a good RB too. Look at his stats in 2023. Hunt/Pacheco/Perine is a very good combination.

Different style back, but I could see them keep Perine as the "McKinnon" role. Behind, two minute offense, 3rd down passing situations.

He has shown to be a good 3rd down back out of the backfield, and a good blocker. I am happy we have him to go along with Hunt and now Pacheco.

They will be a deadly trio going down the stretch.

Hunt has made Andy's play calling much, much easier.

No trickeration, no in-game evaluation, no risk/reward metrics to ponder....hand it to Hunt on 3rd or 4th and short. Pick up 1st down.

The rest is extra gravy. Move football and keep offense on field.

Isn't it the latter day version of Stram's old "matriculate the ball down the field"?

I would be OK with Pacheco/Hunt combo running for 150 yards....and Patrick passing for 350 yards and 3 TD's.

And...not having a nail biter for once.

We definitely need the help on D because the last three games the D hasn’t been unable to come up with a stop in crunch time.

I watch a shitload of NFL games and it really does seem like it disproportionately happens to us.

It absolutely does, especially when we’re playing QBs who shouldn’t be able to do it. That’s the most annoying part is when some scab like Bryce Young does it to us, and it just never seems to fail. Definitely do not see it anywhere near as much in other games.

I think a big part of it is when teams are playing us, their QB seems to have a ‘**** it’ mentality because they know what it’s going to take to beat us, so that plays into it as well. They’re much more likely to just chuck it up there.

Bryce stood in there in the face of the rush and delivered the ball MANY times. I was really impressed with his decision making and standing in the pocket to make the pass last second.

We’ve heard for two or three seasons about how opposing teams play against Kansas City like it’s the Super Bowl. You’re describing that phenomenon. Players are juiced and play out of their minds.

Zach Wilson played his best football against us last year. Same this year with Bryce Young.

We've played an extra season worth of playoff games the last 5 years and every team is playing their Super Bowl against us. It happens. It doesn't mean we're bad, it's just hard to win in this league, especially for as long as we have.

I thought Young looked outstanding in terms of decisions and ball-placement, even when under intense pressure. Dude may have completely turned it around.

Hammock Parties 11-29-2024 10:08 PM

Both looked excellent and contributed.

Pop breaking off a couple nice runs and got us a FG.

Omenihu already giving good offensive linemen trouble and drawing holding calls.

RunKC 11-29-2024 10:15 PM

They both made impacts and Pop was on a pitch count.

I am not worried much about the offense tbh. It’s all on secondary mainly

wazu 11-29-2024 10:19 PM

Very excited to see Pacheco rip that long run. Coming back from a broken leg I wasn't sure if he'd look like himself this year or not. That looked like the dude we all know and love.

And everyone has YEARS of film on Mahomes tendencies, as well as plenty of tape on the rest of this team and how it plays in different situations.

We just need to get back to executing better and I think that will be a big difference with DJ out there at LT. This OL has looked like a unit that’s been spread thin to try to compensate for horrible LT play while trying not to throw other resources into helping out through other positions and it’s making everyone else look worse.

Humphries will give us dependable LT play for the first time in a couple years, if not since Fish went down. Thuney won’t have to be as aware of the ends cutting inside and that should help solidify the middle of the OL again.

Hopefully they can get Trey back on track, as well.

Exactly. The #1 thing that improves the Chiefs is better LT play.

milkshock 11-30-2024 05:48 AM

My concern with Pacheco yesterday was what it always has been. He can break the long ones sometimes (and he did break one long one), but simply gets stopped immediately in the backfield or behind the line of scrimmage far too often. Hunt's consistent 3/4 yard grinds over the past weeks emphasised that even more on Pacheco's return.

Outside the 34 yarder he had 6 carries for 10 yards, which simply isnt sustainable.

At one point Hunt had 4 carries for 5 yards. Nobody was making gains on the ground for us which suggests a wider issue with play calling and O-Line.

The D-line needs to generate pressure or else our secondary is toast. Frustrating seeing a JAG like O'Connell walk all over our defense.

Not worried about the offense? The tackle situation will be tougher to fix than the secondary.

No, the tackle situation is very easy to fix. Start Humphries next week. Boom. Fixed.

Soon after, Hollywood joins the party, and suddenly the secondary issues don't even matter because they're scoring 30 ppg.

BWillie 11-30-2024 11:56 AM

The eye test passed. He was very good in his first game back.

In his first game back after ACL surgery, Charles Omeinhu already had a 15.8% pass-rush win rate. That was 19th overall among NFL edges. smithandrew051 12-04-2024 02:19 PM

If the pass rush gets going and Watson comes back, look out. Defense will be much better.

If Humphries is an upgrade at LT and Hollywood comes back, also look out.

After this crazy season, we may still get the 1 seed and be healthy. The only loss would be Rice, but he was replaced with Hopkins. A slight downgrade at this point, but not near as bad as this all looked a few weeks ago.
