Ok, I’ll go first… These are my favorite threads on CP after all!
PFN 1. OT Josh Simmons - He slides due to injury, we have him sit behind Humphries/Morris/Kingsley until he’s healthy. 2. DL Jared Ivey - Great size and 92% PFF pass rushing grade 3. DL Jordan Burch - Doubling down on big edge players here that have CJ or Omenihu like builds, but this dude Burch was clocked at 21 mph at nearly 300 lbs!!! WTF!? He’ll be in a lot of my mocks. 4. RB Dylan Sampson - Running style reminds me of Kareem Hunt, but almost as fast as Xavier Worthy!? Ok, not that fast, but projected to run a 4.35 40, he could fill McKinnon’s role and get us some home run plays. Eventual replacement for Pachecco. 7. DT Alfred Collins - Another massive D-lineman, we’re going beast-mode. No way this guys available this late, saw him mocked to us in the 1st this morning lol. 7. CB Tony Grimes - Great athlete, 6-2 and projected 4.3 40 time, spags can squeeze the potential out of him. *I’ve noticed the simulators are all over the place currently, no consensus whatsoever. Early mocks are just for fun anyways. |
My first attempt at the PFF mock draft simulator had Shadeur Sanders available at 31.
Um...yeah, not gonna be wasting my time with that on, fellas. |

I'll play your game.
So I used the first link. I traded up with the Browns, because they suck in all and have a cap mess on their hands so maybe positioning themselves to get a QB next year is of interest to them. So I traded our #1 this year and next year, plus our original 3rd this year, for their first #8, and their 3rd rounders at 70 and 94. It let me, so I must be on to something. Then I traded from 8 to 10 with the Bengals and pickup up pick 41, 187, and a 2026 5th rounder. All seems reasonable to me. Here is my draft, and I don't know who half of these players are, but they seemed good to me. Pick 10: Kelvin Banks OT Texas. Pick 41: Jahdae Barron CB Texas Pick 63: Donavan Jackson G Ohio State Pick 70: Xavier Restrepo WR Miami Pick 94: Omarr Norman-Lott, DL Tenn Pick 95: Barrett Carter, LB Georgia Pick 132: Jayden Higgins, WR Iowa State. Note:He's one of my draft crushes Pick 187: Luke Lachey, TE Iowa Note another of my local draft crushes Pick 255: Trevor Etienne, RB Georgia And with that, the Chiefs should be set for a long time. |
I don't know any of the players yet, but I'm sure not going to pass up on drafting a guy named Squirrel White from Kentucky.

I've been diving into the mock drafts as well, and it's clear that there's a lot of uncertainty right now. With the college football season still ongoing, player evaluations are fluid.
Hoover's trade strategy is interesting, but I agree with Couch-Potato that the frequency of trades in these simulators often feels unrealistic. NFL teams are typically more cautious and strategic with their draft picks, especially in the early rounds. Rain Man's comment about Squirrel White got a chuckle out of me. It's always fun to see some unique names in the draft pool. I'm curious to see how the draft boards will shape up as we get closer to the actual draft. It'll be interesting to see if any of these early mock draft predictions pan out. What are your thoughts on the top QB prospects for 2025? Do you think any of them will be worthy of a top-5 pick? |
Sanders and Ward are the consensus top 2 QBs. Been reading opinions that Allar possibly has the highest ceiling of them all but would benefit holding a clipboard for a year or two.

I was inspired to run my first real "trying" attempt at a mock draft today because I started kicking around the idea of trading back from 32 with the goal of targeting TreyVeyon Henderson in a better range.
Here's where I landed: 2.50 - TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State (traded back to 42 and again to 50. Tried to use the Rich Hill trade chart for compensation) 2.64 - Deone Walker, DT, Kentucky 3.66 - Andrew Mukaba, DB, Texas 3.96 - Dylan Fairchild, G, Georgia 4.109 - Lander Barton, LB, Utah 4.133 - Theo Wease, Jr., WR, Missouri 4.137 - Oronde Gadsen II, TE, Syracuse 7.256 - Johnny Walker Jr., DE, Missouri OK, homer draft. I moved back to 42 and Henderson was still the #3 back on the board, so I moved again to 50 and still got him. I like Walker as a massive human with huge upside. Mukaba is fast and athletic and good in coverage and versatile. Seems like a Chiefs DB to me. Fairchild lacks a bunch of starting experience but is a good G prospect. Barton is a coverage backer. Wease is "my" draft guy. I think the guy is going to be a really good NFL player, and I want it to be a value for MY team. Gadsen is a project TE but could pay off huge. Walker certainly won't be there in the 7th, but if he was you'd run to the podium with that pick. With the Chiefs down a few picks, this might be a nice year to trade back and add some more. Especially since the 20-60 range of the draft seems destined to be graded pretty similarly. |
I certainly don't have the knowledge of Mizzou football that you do, duncan, but am I wrong in feeling both Theo Wease and Johnny Walker have a future as solid contributors on Sunday? Maybe not Pro Bowlers, but guys that know their roles, get it done, and help contribute to wins?

I could see Wease surprisingly being a star NFL WR, actually. He has the athletic profile. Can do everything. |

63: CB Trey Amos - Mississippi 66: LT Wyatt Milnum - West Virginia 95: WR Xavier Restrepo - Miami 132: RB Ollie Gordon II - Oklahoma State 256: TE Luke Lachey - Iowa Use our top two picks to add young cheats playmakers on the defense. These picks not add talent at premium defensive positions, but they make our stars on the defense even better. Want to get the most out of Jones in the next two-3 years, but a guy like Grant next to him. Want to help McDuffie, go pair him with a boundry corner. How do you manage the cap, you can spend money on Jones and McDuffie when you balance out the books with cheap contracts at the same position group for the length of those contract. Veach is great at this BTW. Then the focus needs to change to the offense. I'd love a safety, LB, edge guy, but the offense needs attention, and when you are paying Mahomes, you need cheap young talent. I get that Milnum isn't Joe Alt, but the dude is a legit pass blocking LT, and if he's there I'm going to take him over a running back like Henderson or Johnson and I'd feel great about it. At 95 the running backs I'd love to have are gone, but adding a guy like Restrepo to pair wit Rice and Worthy would be fun. When and if Kelce leaves, I want to find Pat his own Wes Welker/Julian Edelman. Running back is deep in this draft, so I think its important not to freak out. Ollie Gordon is a talented back that you can get for a discount because he didn't live up to the hype this season, but the talent is there. Not sure Lachey would be there at the end of the draft, but if he is I'd be all over it. He's been in QB hell at Iowa, at this point in the draft he's worth a flier here. |

I have very little interest in Johnson, who is already a big-back who isn't incredibly quick or fast. I don't think he translates well to the NFL at all, and his ability to be a 3-down back is significantly questioned. Henderson has shown everything you could need in a 3-down back. He's fast, he catches the ball well, he has proven he can pass protect, and he has been a productive runner, too. |

I wouldn't mind this draft, provided they address LT in FA or trade. Traded down from 95 to get some extra picks that I doubt would last, but who knows with these things.

Did PFFs and got this....
31 OT Josh Conerly Jr Oregon 63 OT Donovan Jackson Ohio State 66 RB Kaleb Johnson Iowa 95 DE Ashton Gillotte Louisville Hrmmm lol |
I keep finding myself going RB in the back of the 2nd, Milum at the top of the 3rd and Walker at the back of the 3rd.
If someone like Zabel slides, I look at him in the 1st and then find myself looking LB or CB w/ that Milum pick. Been taking Gillotte a lot in the 4th. But too many of these databases are still wonky. I mean I just had one where I got Loveland at the back of 1 (okay, possible but not likely), Burch at the back of 2 (same) and then Donovan Jackson at the top of 3, Walker at the back of 3 and Barrett Carter at the back of 4. Any ONE of those things seems pretty possible. Maybe 2 of 'em. But every last one of those guys feels like a slide and I just don't see that happening across the board like that. Just feels like there's a lot to sort out yet before these boards have much meaning. |
I cant take the simulators too serious until at least post combine. Too many hard opinions on the built in boards in my opinion. Some snuck in homer takes lol.

This would be a dream scenario that's not likely, especially Egbuka falling to us at 31. Assuming we sign Trey Smith, Hollywood, and a LT in free agency. I really like another thread talking about free agency for offense and attack defense in the draft. Drafted a dynamic WR and RB, reinforced the defensive line and LB. I'm not sure about Paul, but the Chief's brought him in for a visit, so they must be interested. 31- Emeka Egbuka WR 63- J.T. Tuimoloau Edge 66- T.J. 1st attempt - Post Thuney trade rumors
Assumption: Cam Robinson @ LT, Kingsley at LG 31) Kenneth Grant DT (340 lbs, long arms, high motor) 63) Cameron Williams RT (will replace Taylor in 2026) 66) Elic Ayomanor WR (6'2", good hands, 4.47...needs a little tech polish) 95) Demetrius Knight LB (Bolton heir, a little faster, thumper but not a great cover guy) 132) Zak Frazier CB (6'3", runs in the 4.3s, project, but worth a shot. Passed on RBs Giddens, Gordon, Damien Martinez...all look like mudders to me that run too high) 256) Donovan Edwards RB (good value here. Plays Hunt role, but far more burst than present Kareem. Mich RBs usually tough as nails.) |
NFL Mock Draft Database (Post Thuney trade)
Assumptions: Cam Robinson at LT, Kingsley at LG. I stopped after pick 132 since I only had two 7th round choices left. Made numerous trades that were offered to me. This draft is highly unlikely but man what a haul! These are so much fun to do and a good way to learn about the prospects at all levels of the draft. 31) Kenneth Grant- DT (Good against the run and provides good pass rush, can play next to Jones at nose tackle as well) 69) Cameron Williams- OT (Great value at this pick, possible/likely replacement in 2026 for Taylor at RT) 71) Quinshon Judkins- RB (Time to draft a very talented back in the early rounds) 93) Jalen Royals- WR (Potential X receiver that can stretch the field and compliment Rice/Worthy) 95) Tate Ratledge- OL (Not really an immediate need but good draft value for this pick, restocking the trenches is never a bad idea, bonus if he proves to be an upgrade from Kingsley at LG) 105) Josaiah Stewart- Edge (Dynamic pass rush specialist to use on passing downs, provide others with rest in a good rotation) 132) Zy Alexander- CB (Good height at 6' 1", outside man/press corner. Can push McDuffie to the slot majority of time where he is best, cheap against the salary cap and can eventually replace Watson/Williams at a much cheaper cost) |
I won't use that NFL Mock Draft Database on principle since they fill half the screen with ads.

I'm thinking that very few teams will entertain trades with us, and if they do, they're going to be demanding on compensation, so I make no trade offers and decline all that I receive. The nice trade offers I receive seem to be pretty unlikely in reality, so they're for entertainment purposes only.
It's still more than a month until the draft, so things could change a lot. Right now I'm just looking for trends for the first couple of rounds. I've found that virtually every time I run a mock there are a couple of DTs that fall to us that would be acceptable. Then at our 2nd pick, we seem to always have an acceptable OT or Edge available. I also seem to end up taking Cam Skattebo nearly every time with our pick at the end of the 3rd round. Right now with the simulators it seems like the draft will line up nicely for the Chiefs' needs. |
