Taylor and sick kids

I couldnt tell you if I have ever heard a Taylor Swift song . \
But I can say I have a very weak spot when it comes to sick kids. It tears my old ass up.

This is the sort of cool stuff that makes me really understand goodness in people and at this time of year with Holidays its special

God Bless this lady bringing joy and smiles to sick kids.

Love to see this.

UteChief 12-12-2024 06:13 PM

While I don’t think I could identify her music, I certainly like the person.

George Liquor 12-12-2024 06:19 PM

Very nice of her to do this.

smithandrew051 12-12-2024 06:39 PM

Awesome stuff.

I will NOT be checking the replies to that tweet though. I can only imagine.

BigRedChief 12-12-2024 06:45 PM

I’ve heard from a hard core Swifty that she does this all the time. But, never allows any public pics, news of the visit, nothing leaks. She has a photographer with her. They take pics with all the kids and then send the finished pic in a nice frame, signed to the sick kid.

Yep. And I still don't listen to her music.

DaFace 12-12-2024 07:02 PM

Very sweet. I wonder if the Chiefs facilitated this. I know players go frequently, so I bet they've got a pretty good process down.

Regardless, it's super cool that she's embracing KC like this.

BigOlChiefsfan 12-12-2024 07:06 PM

She's aces with me - and if 87 is happy, I'm happy for both of 'em.

WilliamTheIrish 12-12-2024 07:13 PM

Recognize quite a few of those faces.

She was letting people take videos and pics plenty today. A good one here with a Travis reference.

I saw an instagram post of someone claiming to be there today that said her crew (which was only her and a couple other people, apparently this was very spurt of the moment/impromptu) allowed them to take all the pics they wanted. The only thing they asked was that they wait a while to post them online to avoid any unwanted fans or media showing up at the hospital.

IowaHawkeyeChief 12-12-2024 08:22 PM

I'm no fan of her politics, but from all reports, for being as rich and famous as she is she seems like a good soul that understands how to treat people.

I was just repeating what a Swifty told me. I obviously don’t follow her or joined any Swifty groups. Both could be true. This may be the new standard policy. Can we get a hard core pipe hitting Swifty in here to give a ruling?

Pitt Gorilla 12-12-2024 09:04 PM

There are grown ass men who actively hate her. I can't imagine what it's like to be that shitty of a person.

AWESOMNESS! God bless her and I am sure these kids were moved with joy and happiness because of Taylor's visit to them. I feel very warm inside for this act of kindness from her :thumb:

TwistedChief 12-12-2024 09:19 PM

She was there for a full 3 hours directly visiting with kids.

Nothing else needs to be said.

Why are you being defensive and feeling like this is an indictment of your posting something hours and hours later?

If she comes to Denver for a game, I would feel very comfortable inviting her and Travis over for dinner. She's part of the tribe.

I'd feel comfortable inviting them over to my farm for dinner as well.

I'm happy for them, happy for her, happy she seems like a decent person.

Just not a Swiftie.

I don’t know what they cooking in kc but we sure do bring in a lot of humble superstars who do this shit all the time when the cameras aren’t rolling. It’s pretty amazing when one of these people happens to be the biggest international superstar.

Decades ago I used to know people who worked closely with Kurt Warner. They were devastated when he was traded. Heard the same about grant wistrom. Talk to enough community leaders and you figure out real quick who the real ones are. The public didn’t know even a fraction of the good deeds these guys did for their communities and they liked it that way

I went to high school with Grant Wistrom. He was the biggest prick imaginable. Case in point, after he retires, Webb City decides that the Cardinal stadium should switch to turf. He declares publicly that he will pay for it. Privately the stadium will be renamed Grant Wistrom Stadium. They told him to **** off and funded it with bonds. To add insult to injury, they named a one block street on the other side of the high school Wistrom Road. After he faded away so went the street.

Demonpenz 12-13-2024 12:30 AM

Positive vibes

Dante84 12-13-2024 01:08 AM

Also, it’s the day before her birthday, and she chose to spend it in KC at a children’s hospital, when she could be anywhere in the world doing anything she wants.

Oh, and she’s only 4 days removed from completing a two-year-long international tour that’s she’s probably exhausted from. With a cool $2B to show from it.

But she was here.

Oh wow that’s crazy. That wasn’t what I had heard. Maybe it was just specific to the projects I was working on at the time. That’s too bad.

I lived in St. Louis and was in my young 20s during Wistrom's tenure there. I would see him out and about at all the popular hotspots. Always seemed like a giant douche. It's almost absurd the amount of times I ran into him at a bar or casino.

My niece is in one of those posts. Not gonna say which one. Very proud of her work with these kids.

Graystoke 12-13-2024 01:50 PM

Very nice. I think Travis picked a good one.

Gravedigger 12-13-2024 02:08 PM

Pretty awesome that right after her tour ends to fit this in right in time for the holidays. If it were one of my kids they would’ve been through the roof.

nicksdad 12-13-2024 02:28 PM

My son went to the pro bowl through Make a Wish about twenty years ago. All of the kids got to go to the AFC and NFC practices and got to meet all of the players and get autographs. I can’t begin to tell you how much it means to a sick child to meet athletes or other famous people. A little kindness can mean so much. All of the players except Tomlinson were super nice

That sucks. I always liked Tomlinson.

Mike Jones (The Tackle) became the head coach of the local HBC here in town where my dad graduated. In 2015 when dad was pretty far down the brain cancer route I shot Jones an email and asked if my dad could meet him. Dad was a huge St. Louis Rams fan as well.

He wrote back and had a medical issue of his own he was dealing with but promised he would. About 3 or 4 months later I get a call that he had time on day A or day B and he said he'd come by to the house. He did. He could have just stopped by, shook hands, and went on his way but he hung out for like an hour and half BS'ing and answering questions. Really good guy.

nicksdad 12-13-2024 03:00 PM

So my son was thirteen at the time and bought an LT jersey and a Peyton Manning jersey to get autographs . Manning must have spent 10 minutes with Nick . He was so nice we could never root against him again. LT looked like I pissed in his mouth when Nick asked him to sign the jersey. He did , with a big pouty puss on. Considering Nick had almost died twice by that time I thought that was pretty shitty.

Dark Horse 12-13-2024 03:07 PM

My heart goes out to anyone who has a seriously ill child. I can’t imagine what that’s like. It may seem like a small thing to do what she did but when you consider the demand she has for her time every body wants a bit. This was a tremendously thoughtful thing to do. And it means so much to those kids.

arrowheadnation 12-13-2024 08:51 PM

Of course I was curious, already knowing it was a Dyson product, I assumed it was expensive...$500!!! for a curling iron. Sheesh.

Why would her good deeds rub off on Travis? Just because he's the boyfriend?

No, I think they are both generous people who usually don’t draw attention to all the good work they do. It’s the Kansas City way. But the biggest international superstar doing great work in Kansas City will draw a lot of attention to the charity work Travis has done for years. Unintentionally or whatever.

chiefzilla1501 12-14-2024 07:37 AM

Kansas City is also putting a lot of hype for Travis this week since it’s a great way to draw attention to the work he and Jason have done for Cleveland. Feel good about Travis’ chances to win man of the year.
