Can’t believe how stupid the 4th down playcall was
4th and 3 from the 39, 8 mins left. Offense struggling all day, defense dominating Jameis with 5 sacks and 3 INT’s.
The Browns did not get in the redzone one time Ability to pin the Browns deep in their own territory with a 14 pt lead and 7 ish mins left and they go for it. Unbelievably stupid. Unreal |
Did Trentus McDuffiest get first!!!!
|
Today was a masterclass at bad offensive coaching.

Andy reads CP. He's drinking the Kool aid. He's beginning to believe. Lmmfgdao. It doesn't matter how many hits he takes, if he dies, he dies. |
Meh.
I don't like punting from the other team's 39. It's No man's land. You either go for it or kick a long FG. |
Maybe run it on 3rd down if you know you're going for it.

Otherwise I agree with you and normally you'd just kick a FG there.. It's worth the try. |
Whoever was in charge of the second half play calling definitely needs an ass chewing. Couldn't have been worse and more unimaginative than it was.

What's that? |
This was far and away the worst offensive performance of the Reid/Mahomes era. They were absolutely pathetic in every way imaginable.
Forcing 6 turnovers and scoring only 21 total points is not something I think we’ll ever see from a team again in our lifetimes. We literally had 6 extra drives and still did nothing. Anyone who isn’t worried at this point just isn’t very smart. It’s not the same as last year. The weapons are there and everyone is basically healthy. Offense just sucks ass, plain and simple. |

This was ugly in its own way of course. At least we had no turnovers in this game, though some of Pat's throws came close to that. |

This was abysmal beyond words. |

However, the play you’re seeing from Mahomes should concern you. He has never, ever looked this terrible for this long of a stretch. Last year, it was more about the pieces around him. This year, it’s him. That’s a very different situation. I’m sure he’s mentally and physically exhausted, so maybe he’s just coasting because he knows he can, and I couldn’t blame him if that’s the case. Just hope he can put on his cape quickly come playoff time. |
Nothing wrong with the playcall. Mahomes should not have run into fat guys.
|
You can rip on the play calling... however play calling doesn't change that Mahomes is leaving yards and points all over the field week in and week out.

But Mahomes is playing worse this year than last year. I think 2023 Mahomes in this situation would turn this game into a rout and he’d probably have like 30 passing touchdowns by now |

Playcall like it’s 4 down territory. |

In 2023 we looked equally unimpressive in the second half. |
The bigger shitshow was the end of the first half.
|
It was a terrible play call.
It should have been a short drop and fire to someone right off the snap where it's either an offensive catch on a sideline or in the dirt. To be really honest Mahomes should have punted it. |

Wish Andy ran the ball on 3rd down in that situation. Punt or run it again on 4th down.

And that's not to sound dense... I get what you're saying. Mahomes is obviously the key to it all and he needs to get his head on straight, or else it doesn't matter who your receivers are or anything else. But, I do think we've actually seen the potential for this offense more often this year than we did for long stretches last season. At one point last season, I think in mid-late December I was still saying "remember that one time they were down 14-0 to the Raiders and then the offense looked amazing after that? What if they just do that again...." like 8 ****ing weeks later. LMAO If it wasn't for the 4th quarter drives, crunch time, etc; I might be more concerned (well, as concerned as I could be about not 3peating, which is barely even reality right now), but I think we'll see DHop on the field for more than 50% of snaps, and then with Brown and Worthy's flashes, etc; they'll get the offense reeled in and Mahomes will once again lock in and leave us wondering why the hell this ever happens. |

DHop and JuJu are possession receivers at this point in their careers, not game changers at their position. Worthy is a rookie. History says that reason most back to back SB teams lost the 3peat was injuries. Losing our #1 receiver (Brown) for 90% of the year and losing Rice(WR#2) for 80% of the year. Losing Pacheco for 60% of the year. hurt our chances for a 3 peat. |

The Super Bowl win has just erased how grim this place was in December. |

Yeah, we can NOW say we had an elite defense last season, but that wasn't largely the belief at this point last year... and I remember because I was surprised how little people were talking about them after what they did to the Eagles (much less calling them frauds soon after). |
