Like everyone else I didn't realize he'd aged that much, but that could just be because I haven't seen him on tv in forever

He missed the tournament this past year for "family health reasons" and it certainly looks like now it might have been because of his health.

Well I learned one thing here today the bad Gumbel was Bryant not Brian. Guess I never cared to pay that much attention to the bad Gumbel

I also remember back when CBS got back the AFC games (1999? I think?) he was their top play by play guy and Jim Nantz was in the studio with all the jackasses.

Nantz’s ego forced CBS to switch Nantz to their #1 play by play announcer and Gumbel became the studio anchor until he was eventually replaced in that role by James Brown.

RIP to the guy, but I'll admit that I'm not overly impacted by this.

I think any time you mention James Brown, you have to link an advertisement for Verizon. It's a contractual requirement.
