Let's Talk about Houston (Divisional Round edition)
 

I'm guessing our game against Houston will be on Saturday....this is big, since it would give us an extra day before the AFCCG and either Buffalo/Baltimore would have to travel to Arrowhead.

How does the NFL determine who plays the Saturday game?

If Buffalo wins, you’d have to think the league would give the bills as much time to rest as needed. For us and Houston, neither team would be adversely affected by playing Saturday.

This is a little later than I expected this to be posted.

**** Denver. **** Buffalo. **** Baltimore. **** Houston. **** all the NFC.

AFC should play next Saturday. NFC is playing Sunday and Monday so it makes sense if they get Sunday again. They shouldn’t make them play Saturday too.

The NFL will want the Ravens/Bills game on Sunday.

this SHOULD be a bit of a warm up game for us, but the Texans defense looked scary against the Chargers. Just manage our OL against that pass rush and we should win something like 28-17. Pat isn't giving Stroud three extra possessions

In the last 10yrs, they’ve never done it like that. It’s always been both an AFC and NFC game on each day of the divisional round.

We’ll play on Saturday. Bills/Ravens will be Sunday. Almost no doubt.

It was very strange that they put all the AFC games first and NFC games last this weekend. Can’t remember them ever doing that either. I think you’re right, but I wonder why they separated this weekend like they did

I think there's a cbs game on both Saturday and Sunday. I'm sure we'll be playing three Saturday night slot.

Agreed. And in fairness it’s all new with the Monday night game and new playoff format.

But they have had AFC only games on Saturday before and then still rotated in the divisional. Only difference is they’ve never had AFC only on Saturday and then AFC early on Sunday. But I chalk that more up to which networks have priority and are protecting which games.

Big cold front coming in so it is going to be cooold this upcoming weekend. Because the Chiefs are such a huge draw I bet they play at night.

Hopefully Baltimore & Buffalo have to play on Sunday. If KC is able to win on Saturday, Chiefs get an extra day of rest on either Buffalo or Baltimore.

Even if that is the case, I tend to think CBS probably wants the Lamar & Josh game to be on Sunday instead of Saturday. Hopefully Chiefs are Saturday to get an extra day of rest for AFC title game.

If either the Packers or Commanders win, they’ll make that the Saturday night game versus the Lions. If the Eagles and Bucs win, they’ll play each other on Saturday night and the Lions vs Rams or Vikings will be the Sunday game.

Kevin Harlan is the #1 announcer for the national radio broadcast so even on radio I bet he's going to Buffalo. But either way next weekend the games are split between ESPN, NBC, CBS and FOX so each channel gets one game so you'll get their top announcer group.

I think that the worst thing to do with DJ is to sit him, he needs to continue to work to stretch and strengthen that hammy. It's getting into football shape now.
