Bills-Ravens: win-win, lose-lose

Someone's gotta win. But someone's gotta lose too. Which fanbase better deserves the early exit?

Which QB needs it more? Lamar is 3-4 in the playoffs. Allen is 1-4 in non-wildcard games.

Which team would you rather beat in the AFCCG? Is that the same thing as the team you think we match up better against?

Molitoth 01-13-2025 06:49 AM

I'd rather the Chiefs play the worse QB, which is Lamar Jackson.

Josh Allen is on another level this season.

pugsnotdrugs19 01-13-2025 06:49 AM

If we knew we were 100% gonna win the title game? Give me Buffalo.

Because we don’t? I think Baltimore is the better matchup, specifically for Spags’ D, so I prefer they win. And I think they will on Henry’s legs.

Hoover 01-13-2025 07:22 AM

It’s a beautiful thing.

milkshock 01-13-2025 07:25 AM

Got to be the Ravens

And I want Philly in the Super Bowl, for similar reasons. You will not beat the Chiefs with a good to great running game alone.

Spott 01-13-2025 07:27 AM

I hate playing either QB, but Baltimore is probably a better matchup for us since Allen is the better QB.

Jewish Rabbi 01-13-2025 07:28 AM

Both teams suck and deserve to DIE!!!

Mr_Tomahawk 01-13-2025 07:39 AM

Dunno about that, but we're plenty scared of Denver!

Dunerdr 01-13-2025 08:09 AM

I don't really care if were being honest. Both fan bases hate Mahomes and Andy. I guess I kind of would rather beat Allen in the AFFCG if were going to win. It probably keeps McDermont safer as the HC.

displacedinMN 01-13-2025 08:16 AM

Pepe Silvia 01-13-2025 08:16 AM

I wonder which jersey they will wear? They have 8 to choose from.

Sofa King 01-13-2025 08:21 AM

Gimme Baltimore then Minnesota. That would be nice to have that to hang over all the Vikings fans around here.

Bills are just a one point favorite at home. That’s a bit surprising to me. I agree that I’d rather play Baltimore than Buffalo.

Agree completely. Beating the Bills would be the more satisfying experience as a fan. But the Ravens would be easier to beat.

Kman34 01-13-2025 09:50 AM

I hate counting chickens….

Kiimo 01-13-2025 09:52 AM

Right the Ravens have a QB that tends to shit the bed, and his pants. They have a RB who ran all over the league but the Chiefs held him to 45 yards earlier this season.

I'd rather the Ravens destroy themselves knocking off the Bills then limp into the AFC Champ game so I don't have to watch Allen pull off superhero plays on 4th down. I'd rather watch a frustrated Ravens team start pointing fingers at each other in the 4th quarter down 17 in Arrowhead

Iowanian 01-13-2025 10:12 AM

The win will be that whomever wins that games gets the shit physically beaten out of them during the game. If Baltimore wins, hopefully buffalo lumps him up good. I think Buffalo is a worse matchup.

PHOG 01-13-2025 10:18 AM

I think in my pre-playoff wants, I wanted Baltimore for the win. With a gimpy Flowers, his WRs are almost an afterthought vs us. Of course, he could be better by then. TEs would be a problem.

SHOWTIME 01-13-2025 10:25 AM

Hoping for a sloppy game from both teams...one team has to win, but hopefully it will be a 20-17 slopfest.

DaFace 01-13-2025 10:29 AM

If I take out the Chiefs' chances of success against either team (which is kind of a wash to me), I'd pull for the Bills.

1. On a personal level, Allen annoys me less than Jackson, and the Bills annoy me less than the Ravens.
2. The Ravens have had success in the recent past - the Bills haven't.

Aside from that, I really don't are.

ChiTown 01-13-2025 10:55 AM

Buffalo is a completely different unit this year with a healthy Defense and how they are effectively utilizing their offensive pieces. I find them to be a much more difficult matchup than B-More.

I don't really believe in that shit, especially as it relates to fans on a message board. It's like people losing their shit on who starts a GDT - like that makes ANY difference whatsoever. It's a game played by warriors who are not affected by trivial things brought about by common (message board) men :)

I know. It's silly and stupid and makes no sense. But still....

I have a hat that over the years seemed to bring bad luck if I wore it before big games. Obviously one random guy wearing a ****ing hat 500 miles away from the stadium has no bearing on the outcome of a football game. All the same, I won't be touching it or wearing it this week. Just in case. :D

Curé 01-13-2025 11:31 AM

If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. Houston. Buffalo. Baltimore. Bring them on. If we can't beat them in our house with the best QB in history, then we don't deserve it. Has nothing to do with gods or karma or luck or refs.

I would prefer to be at the Ravens. However, if we were to lose the AFCCG, God forbid, I would rather see the Bills go to the Superbowl than the friggin Ratbirds. If the Ratbirds are in the Superbowl, I will refuse to watch it.

I loathe the Bills about as much as I do the donkeys.

But as far as who we play, assuming it's not an upset against the Texans....

either or is going to be a hard game. Def has me nervous because both of those teams know us well too. And the Bills did beat us earlier in the year where we just seem to have the Ravens number overall.

I personally like our matchup against the Ravens more than the bills.

Deberg_1990 01-13-2025 12:29 PM

I like both Lamar and Josh Allen.

Yep. Over the last few weeks I've seen talk about if Allen beats Mahomes and Lamar to win it all it will no longer be in doubt on who the best QB is. Just so little awareness of what just happened last year with Mahomes beating both on the road as they hand wave away three Super Bowls and another appearance.

St. Patty's Fire 01-13-2025 04:36 PM

The Bills just lack guys on defense. They have good players at every level and they play well to their scheme but they don’t have any true difference makers. And their DL just lacks size, and has for years, and it’s been their biggest issue come playoff time. And before someone says “what??? rousseau and epenesa are 6’7 and 6’6 how do they lack size??” well they’re also barely above 250. look at what the ravens have in the middle. Pierce is within a 100lbs of those two combined. Then you have Matubouike and Jones who are 315+. Ed oliver is tiny and Von Miller is a million years old.

I just dont like the matchup for Buffalo. They’ve been relying on their 6 man front to run the ball in chunks and against the Ravens I don’t think it’ll make a difference. The best matchup the Bills have is their passing offense vs the Ravens passing D. It’s gonna be hard to move the ball at will if they can’t get the running game going, though. Bills in 2nd and 8 and 3rd and 7 all day is gonna be tough.

My feel might change as we get closer to the game but right now I’m feeling a comfortable Ravens win, 36-23

That said, if Allen can have an all time great performance, the Bills might be able to overcome all of the bad matchups. And he’s certainly capable of that. I might change my pick by Friday but I don’t think the disadvantage for the Bills in my mind will change.

Coochie liquor 01-13-2025 04:47 PM

I want to send Buffalol home, AGAIN! **** their delusional fans, give me the salt and excuses while we prepare for the 3rd straight SB. And I hope we get the Lions in the SB. I’m sure Mahomes will love hearing about how he’s never beaten Goff for 2 straight weeks. And then the loudmouth Lions fan I work with will (hopefully) finally stfu about week 1 last year, and the preseason game this year.

They need to be known for Buffalo Wings and that's it. They should be happy with that.

Chief_N_Bama 01-13-2025 05:25 PM

I dont understand how there is more hate for the Bills than the ravens. The ravens are consistently picked over us. Lamar is the most frequent qb ranked ahead of Mahomes. The media has done more to prop up Baltimore during the Chiefs dynasty than any other team. The media narrative is that the ravens beat themselves last year in the AFCCG. If the ravens wins a Super Bowl you can guarantee there will be Lamar is better than Mahomes talk.

Plus, as a once long suffering Chiefs fan I can sympathize with Bills fans. Ravens fans on the other hand l act like they’ve won 10 super bowls. If not the Chiefs I wouldn’t mind the Bills winning it all. The ravens winning their 3rd would make an already snobbish fan base worse.

I don’t really watch too much media. But their fans are like Bengals fans, insufferable with an empty trophy case. Their fans need to bend the ****ing knee, and quit the AlLeN iS bEtTeR tHaN mAhOmEs narrative they spew incessantly. But honestly even us winning 3 in a row, while beating them 2 of the 3 times on both fields, they’ll still find a way to rate Allen higher. **** their fat ass, neck beard having, dildo throwing, child cancer survivor berating, ass fingering, 4 time straight Super Bowl losing, table smashing, secondary character, ringless ****ing fans in the ass with Jackson Mahomes dick! Their fans are the worst. And I hope if they make it to Arrowhead they’re treated like that cancer survivor was treated in their stadium.

**** the Bills and their fans!

Buffalo has a known ceiling for how well they can perform. Give me Buffalo.

Imagine hitting them with RPO over and over with Hollywood and Rapp or Hamlin trying to make that tackle in the open field.

RunKC 01-13-2025 06:42 PM

I think Buffalo wins this one bc it’s at home and Josh Allen is a better playoff QB than Lamar.

I hope the Ravens upset them though bc we are the worst possible matchup for the Ravens

DJay23 01-13-2025 07:37 PM

I'm back and forth on who I'd rather the Chiefs play so I'm not going to worry about it.

As far as the fanbase I want to win or lose it has to do with who I know personally. I know 1 Ravens fan who I run into maybe 5 times a year and he's a good dude.

My girlfriend's entire family is from Elmira and Rochester, NY. So they are all huge Bills fans. It has been really fun for me to talk football with them, me having the upper hand. I would hate to lose to them and lose a little of that. But if you're telling me the Bills could get to the Super Bowl without the Chiefs losing to the Bills (we lose Saturday) I would pull for Bills fans. It's fun having a Chicago Cubs/cursed franchise to beat up, but the people I know are good people and I would love for them to feel that feeling. Especially my girlfriend's dad.

I can't hate Bills fans. They've been suffering for as long as we have and have nothing to show for it.

Ravens fans have never known suffering. As soon as their team was founded they turned around and won a championship. Ravens fans are like that spoiled rich kid whose dad buys them whatever they want. I respect the team, but I've never respected the fans.

ForeverIowan 01-13-2025 09:58 PM

That Bills team, their coaches, their fans, that entire franchise is obsessed with the Kansas City Chiefs. It is their Mt. Everest. I truly think Sean McDermott and that coaching staff has studied the Chiefs endlessly. I think McDermott realizes under NO CIRCUMSTANCES do you allow the the Chiefs and Mahomes to end the game with the ball in their hands with a chance to win. They will play extremely unconventional and take outside the box risks late in the game to ensure that does not happen. It helps to take those unconventional risks when you have this seasons MVP under center as well. Make no mistake Josh Allen is a better QB than Lamar Jackson. By far!

My head says the Ravens are the better matchup for us and I know that is the correct answer. My heart says let's see another all-timer against the Bills and let Mahomes/Reid crush the soul of that franchise and fanbase for good!

Good news is that if the Ravens win, Harbaugh is going to ride Henry and limit Allen's possessions. The Bills rush defense is god awful. I think Henry will have something like 32 for 209 or something, and that's some late season wear and tear for the AFCCG.

ForeverIowan 01-13-2025 10:04 PM

Spags will confuse Lamar and cause him to make 3 or 4 dumb ass decisions throughout the game that will kill drives. Josh Allen is just on another level right now. You know dang well a Chiefs/Bills game will be an absolute freaking nail biter. Last QB to get the ball wins.

UChieffyBugger 01-14-2025 01:39 AM

Just looking at some Bills media content on youtube and the narrative from two channels I saw is.

1. These are the two best qb's the afc/league

2. This is the afc superbowl

3. They want the Chiefs to win so they can beat the Ravens and then go and slay the dragon.

I really can't stand both of these teams tbh but those Bills folks really are something smh.

Red Dawg 01-14-2025 05:22 AM

Ravens have 2 TE that can do damage. We don't cover that position we'll and LJ runs better. Give me Buffalo.

I just can't take Buffalo's middling undersized d-line seriously. On paper Baltimore should beat the complete shit out of that defensive line and own the football for most of the game. And good riddance with Buffalo and their whining and Josh Allen's flops. He plays like a euro soccer player. NFL should implement an embellishment penalty just to keep him from embarrassing himself and the league.

The TE myth is getting old now. The Ravens had them at the start of the season and in the afc championship too. Spags knows what he's doing.

This thread is going to be awkward if we lose to the Texans.

Likely went off for 111 yards that first game. Bengals TE's lit up the chiefs and had something like 123 yards...TE play has been an ongoing situation all year. Losing Willie Gay was like a kidney\liver punch to the defense. Without his speed the D can't cover TE's like they could last year and that shit has been open all year long. Front end botched that.

Buffalo fans were dismissing KC as a non-factor all year. Imagine the unearned arrogance of a fanbase whose team has accomplished squat, dismissing a b2b champ with one loss in its last 22 games. Guess it goes to your head when you’re 2-3 vs playoff teams. All year they’ve been saying that Allen’s superior to Mahomes “and everybody knows it.” They’ll be insufferable if he wins a SB.

I want to see Baltimore tear them to pieces, then take a beatdown in Arrowhead.

I think a threepeat would end most of this nonsense.

thats what im anticipating. long and tall string beans trying to set the edge against Henry and the Ravens OL? Good luck, Bills.
