Chris Jones

I’d argue he’s only about .1% less important than Mahomes to this run. This dude is as much of a diehard as any of us. Anyone disagree?

Mainly this is an appreciation post of what this guy has done and continues to bring.

Buehler445 01-26-2025 10:21 PM

Him crying on the bench was incredible. My man.

Lots of crying, some I didn’t understand. But he is a playmaker

A friend of mine showed me a fun tweet, Chris Jones is such a gigantic human being the cameras couldn't see if Josh got the 1st down or not.

My sister's best friend is very good friends with Chris and his agent (moreso the agent), but she hangs out with Chris too.

I told her tonight when her and my sister were on FaceTime after the game that if she ever were to do me a favor for being her best friend's brother, please introduce me to Chris so I can give him the biggest ****ing hug. I absolve that guy.

Anybody that is a draftubator knows I banged the table for him that year. He holds a special place in my heart.

I love this.

I was hard on him a few years ago, but also admit that he deserved the bag. He’s earned every penny. Dude is an absolute legend. I think he’s the best interior lineman in the league, definitively so since AD retired. But I don’t think we give him enough credit for how much he bleeds KC. He wants every win just as much as PM does.

Bump 01-26-2025 11:28 PM

Mahomes
Kelce
Chris Jones
Butker

That's the core and the one's that are about to play in their 5th Chiefs Superbowl!

Sassy Squatch 01-26-2025 11:29 PM

Is he planning to retire or something? He was crying almost every time I saw him acting like it was his last game at Arrowhead.

Sure felt like it, I agree. Winning three in a row may be bye bye CJ, Trav & Spags /tearedup

Wallcrawler 01-27-2025 06:18 AM

Haven't seen this much crying since Dick Vermeil.

Some of it I'm not even sure wtf. Like crying after stuffing the qb sneak play.

Kelce probably playing around with CJ supplements and tossed some estrogen in there.

chiefzilla1501 01-27-2025 07:29 AM

CJ was written off as having no motor which probably dropped his draft stock. Not uncommon for a huge DT. A lot of these guys eat their way out of the league. CJ committed to a strict diet and he's stuck with it for years. You can force a guy to show up to practice but this is the type of commitment that creates a champion

Ball was 100% over the line. Overhead view showed it. One ref properly spotted the ball as a first down walking in, the other shorted it a half yard. Why they went with the short then didn't fix on review? Only Clete, the NFL's fix it man, knows.

If they showed an overhead that can prove it then provide the overhead instead of talking about it. I am not even saying that it wasn't over the line, I am just saying that if you are going to make statements about photographic/video evidence then I would think you would post that along with your statement.

Chris Jones was a pass rush specialist for the first part of his career. He wasnt disciplined, he just shot out of a cannon.

He was a big part of why our run defense struggled for a while.

He's fixed that and then some.

Why are people so worked up about the tears?

The game is emotional and the buildup to this game was like nothing before. The Bills were the "better team" and the Chiefs are playing for immortality.

Of course there were tears. Why wouldn't there be? Emotions run high and people express them in different ways.

****ing boomer cavemen.

He did the exact same thing last year during the playoffs; tears streaming down his face during the anthem. I think our guy lives in the moment, and appreciates every opportunity. He’s married and got like four kids— he probably looks at things from a different viewpoint now.

Right. During the anthem. He was crying ALL GAME though. Or at least it seemed like it.

I hope he's not retiring but I could see it and I'd understand why this is extra emotional for him. But he did say last year we were gonna do it again, guy just puts everything into playing, there's nothing wrong with having an emotional response to greatness

Yeah you’re right I did notice that too. I wouldn’t read into it too much, though.

This is going to sound dumb as shit, and it’s purely anecdotal— but when I was a scrubby scout team player in college, the most emotional guys were ALWAYS the biggest dudes on the team (OL or DL). They took losses the hardest and openly wept during big wins. CJ seems as though he has that gentle giant demeanor.

Just a theory.

Did anyone else get the impression ole Clete was having the inner monologue like Geralt where he is just going "****!" because he knew this play was basically calling the game and they really didn't have a clear cut view to call it either way with 100% accuracy? He knew it was going to be the topic of discussion for a lot of people.

You all realize that Chris goes to the sideline and has a squirt bottle for his contacts\eyes right? They caught it on camera last week as he was squirting an eye after a possession. He likely gets dry eyes during the game so he does it throughout when he gets the opportunity.

I'm also sick of the whining about the difference between the 2 officials running in from the sidelines to mark the ball. They act like this is the first time two officials have ever disagreed about the spot. Furthermore, why do they assume that the official from the far side was right? Finally, why do they assume that the officials didn't confer on the spot? There is no way in hell that they marked the spot on that play without talking about it.

This. On one of the shots, you could see a "teardrop" on the side of his eye, like they missed when they were putting the drops in.

He DOES get emotional at the beginning of games, you can see the tears flowing. But these sideline shots I think are eyedrops.

It appears to me the farside linesman couldn't get a good view of the ball due I think Josh's back is to him.

The other lineman had the better view and was deferred to. Thats my guess anyway.
