Who was our Super Bowl 59 MVP?

Not gonna try to remember the Roman numerals in the thread title, but you know which one I'm talking about.

The Super Bowl MVP is typically selected from the team that won, but in this case that would be the Eagles, and that makes no sense at all. So which Chief was our Super Bowl MVP?

I won't put up a poll since we have a lot of options to choose from.

I would propose three candidates, all on defense:

Drue Tranquill was on fire in the run defense, shutting the other team's running back down.

Tershawn Wharton was winning his battles on the defensive line, often against guys who outweighed him by several hundred pounds.

Justin Reid made a number of plays where the other team's quarterback tried to run with the ball.

You may, of course, propose a different player.

I think my vote for Super Bowl MVP would be Tershawn Wharton. What a success story that guy has been, eh?

Spags. ****ing shame he will not get his flowers for this game all because Andy and Pat shat the bed. You can clearly tell how effective his gameplan would have been had it not been obliterated by the game script. Barkley was completely neutralized and it was setting up to be Hurts vs Mahomes.

Worthy/Bolton

Worthy
Wharton

Exactly right

He set the SB record for most yards by a rookie

Rain Man 02-10-2025 12:54 PM

I just looked at the box score. I had no idea that Worthy had that many yards. That's insane.

Probably because Philly put up 40 points before it happened against backups in garbage time.

chiefzilla1501 02-10-2025 01:24 PM

I’m going with Chris jones. He may not show up on the stat sheet but my god that guy had to put in so much work yesterday. And it felt like he was the emotional leader for the team as a whole yesterday.

wannaGOback 02-10-2025 01:25 PM

Matt Nagy was the Eagles SB mvp.

My mute button during halftime. I'll be honest though, after they shit the bed to start the 3rd qtr, I pretty much checked out and started drinking heavily. I don't remember much of the 4th quarter

He looked like Lou Groza on that onside kick. It was awesome old school football.

ThyKingdomCome15 02-10-2025 01:57 PM

Joe Thuney and Travis Kelce LMAO

In all seriousness it's Worthy

Chiefnj2 02-10-2025 02:00 PM

Tershawn Wharton. Shut down the run before the game got out of hand.

crayzkirk 02-10-2025 02:02 PM

Any Chiefs fan that paid to go to the game.

BWillie 02-10-2025 02:10 PM

Linebackers.

Fraudquan Barkley didn't do shit.

Garcia Bronco 02-10-2025 04:32 PM

Easily Bolton.

The rookie wide receiver did his damage against second-teamers and garbage time and I'd be ashamed to call that MVP "Worthy".

DrunkBassGuitar 02-10-2025 04:50 PM

Bolton

MahomesMagic 02-10-2025 04:50 PM

Worthy was an Alpha.

Molitoth 02-10-2025 05:01 PM

Honestly Mahomes should have won the MVP. He was the Eagles best player.

Ouch, that hurts to admit.

I know this was an attempt at a joke, but I thought he played himself off the team on Sunday. The guy is the Happy Gilmore of punters. Big boot, but absolutely no short game. Which just doesn’t make sense for our offense. He just booted punts into the end zone all game.

cripple creek 02-10-2025 06:07 PM

worthy

comochiefsfan 02-10-2025 06:11 PM

Spags gameplan was fantastic.

Neutralized the run and gave the offense SOOOOO many chances to get rolling and make it a game and they just never did.

Not surprising that they eventually broke a bit, but that side of the ball came ready to play and the offense did not.

Kman34 02-10-2025 06:22 PM

Tershawn Wharton Played a hell if a game… Worthy got some garbage time yards… He’s going to be good.. Maybe a future SB MVP…

Yeah man he put Saquon in check all night long, it was beautiful

Never could've imagined that happening, yet losing sooo badly... run defense was superb but where we got cooked was with the lack of a pass rush

Hurts had all night to throw it, and even McDuffie got scorched 2-3 times due to that lack of pass rush... Spags shut Barkley down, but it came with a cost

In the modern NFL you really would prefer if the other team runs because its just so much more ineffective than any top or even good QB.
