Is there a way to trade Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith for a LT?

I don't really care who stands in the middle. Just find some fat people. They'll be fine enough. What are we gonna do run Barkley 40 times a game and do QB sneaks? No? Then who ****ing cares.

A puffy soft interior will sink the offense too.

Just because LT is the main prerequisite doesn’t mean we can have pockets caving in on Mahomes all the time.

Sassy Squatch 03-09-2025 02:22 PM

Disregarding the obvious, maybe another vet DT since teams seem to be cleaning house on those.

Teams planning to find the next guy in this draft at that position.

Chiefs would be wise to shop for a ring chaser.

Sassy Squatch 03-09-2025 02:25 PM

Of course this is assuming that Wharton is going bag chasing

I'm obviously being overly simplistic in the troll but the point remains.

Best interior line in football last year.

Mahomes never had enough time (and FELT always rushed) and our offense was dogshit.

There are a lot of D linemen out there in free agency... I wonder what his market is going to be.

pugsnotdrugs19 03-09-2025 02:28 PM

1) I’m paying a left tackle, and that LT will have warts. But I’m not going into the draft naked and I’d really prefer it be Robinson or Moore.

2) Need at least one and ideally two defensive linemen.

3) I’d be happy with another corner but also very content to wait for the draft there.

4) Gotta sign a running back before and maybe after the draft depending on if we get one there.

I’m with you that LT precedes everything else, including having an elite trio inside.

I think we can have it all this year though. Someone who can play better than Thuney did and not be totally abused by length, those guys are available. Not great, but good enough.

FloridaMan88 03-09-2025 02:38 PM

A second wave of free agency type signing would be to add a veteran left guard.

Entering another season, relying on Kinglsey without having an adequate back-up plan... even if at a different position... no thanks.

Could Nourzad be that guy?

smithandrew051 03-09-2025 02:51 PM

LT Jaylon Moore (assuming he’s cheaper than Cam Robinson, which he may not be. Cam if the dollars are comparable)
RB Ty Johnson
Vet DB
Sign Wharton if he isn’t too expensive

I’d be fine with trading Trey Smith if the Chiefs get something for him. Dont love two expensive IOL guys, but also understand if they extend him. Just get something done here so it doesn’t hold up other deals.

Heavy DL draft. Also, grab a RB when it makes sense. One more pass catcher in the draft too. Maybe like Felton in the third?

At some point these young guys need to play.

poolboy 03-09-2025 03:03 PM

there is gonna be two new dudes on the left side , no matter the combo

O.city 03-09-2025 03:04 PM

You've got guys that can play guard, or can find those cheaper at this point.

Figure out the LT spot and find a DT. Draft defense, look for a RB somehwere.

ljmhawk 03-09-2025 03:06 PM

Would rather have Hunt over Pacheco.

BWillie 03-09-2025 03:08 PM

I think we should hold onto the Mahomes guy. Seems promising.

TRR 03-09-2025 03:17 PM

Assuming KC lands a LT in free agency (I feel like Veach has his target), I don’t expect them to do much more pre draft.

Then it’s CB, RB, DE, DT in that order. They need more freedom to move McDuffie around, a playmaker with speed at RB, a speed edge rusher, and a compliment to Chris Jones.

What we really want is a hybrid of the two. A RB with Hunt’s vision, pass pro, and ability to get open when Pat scrambles as well as Pacheco’s quickness/speed.

Point being, neither is really a complete RB1.

TE - Kelce, Gray, Wylie
LT - ???
LG - Kingsley
C - Creed, Nourzad
RG - Trey
RT - Taylor, Wanya

DE - George, FAU, Danna
DT - Jones
LB - Bolton, Tranquill, Chenal
CB - McDuffie, Watson, Williams
S - Hicks, Cook, Conner

All that said, what do we predict happens? What would make it a successful FA period in your mind from here following the signings of Bolton, Hollywood, and Trey?

Don't forget Caliendo, CJ Hansen, and Ethan Driscoll.

Negative. Hunt was really losing his burst and stamina. We need help there but Hunt is washed beyond being able to fall forward.

He was the best back on short yardage in football last year.

I agree he doesn't have a ton of time left but do I care how many yards a back gets on 1st and 10?

I do not.

I care that he can pick up a first down on 3rd and 2 or a TD on 4th and 1 and Hunt did that.

If you can do that and never fumble there's a role for you in the NFL.

pugsnotdrugs19 03-09-2025 06:08 PM

I like a lot about this roster already. Can see the pathway to final four contention in the making for the 2025 team. Offense will be built on explosive weapons in the passing game, defense is largely intact and could get younger and stretch out their run of good play.

But you look at those names and there’s a fair share of meat that could be departing as soon as next spring. Can’t say enough about how important this upcoming draft class (and next year’s) is.

According to Bwillie even though we can’t find a left tackle, we should just let the rest of the OL be total shit at ag and C so Mahomes can be Andrew Luck’d.

Bc…reasons

kccrow 03-09-2025 10:10 PM

Give me these guys:

LT Jaylon Moore, SF
DE Josh Sweat, PHI
RB Cam Akers, MIN
WR Rondale Moore, ATL
LB Devin Bush, CLE
SS Richie Grant, ATL
DT Benito Jones, MIA
QB Jameis Winston, CLE

BryanBusby 03-09-2025 10:34 PM

Some names that stick out

RB Najee Harris
DT Osa Odighizuwa
OT Jedrick Williams (big gamble)
RB Khalil Herbert
WR Josh Palmer
DE Dante Fowler
LB Willie Gay
S Jevon Holland (would be an upgrade from Justin Reid)

I have come to terms and fully expect we're going to go get Dan Moore Jr from Pittsburgh (as duncan_idaho mentioned in the draft forum) and then things are going to get really quiet at Arrowhead for at least a few days while they iron out a long-term with Trey Smith and restructure Mahomes so that there is money to do anything else.

We'll miss out on a big defensive playmaker in all likelihood, as much as I wish we could add Jamien Sherwood and Josh Sweat to this roster. I'm hoping somehow they can at least pull off Sweat but that's a pipe dream.

I was looking at Isaiah Rogers today as well, but I think he's going to have a better market than maybe I first thought. He played pretty damned well last year.

Yeah, sadly I think you're right. These "under the radar" options never end up that way! Honestly I think he's played well pretty much whenever he's played. My only hope is some teams don't like his size and rule him out accordingly, but frankly if there's a team likely to do that, it's probably the Chiefs.

Veach did everything he needed to without going crazy.

Get the Trey Smith deal done, find a bargain or two, and let’s get to the draft for the DL and another running back.

RunKC 03-11-2025 10:47 AM

That's exactly what I want him to do. Throw a true FS in there somewhere too, maybe a LB or TE.

pugsnotdrugs19 03-11-2025 11:17 AM

Gimme a DL overhaul in the draft similar to what Rams did past two years. 2-3 fire breathers.

We need to prepare for the possibility that Karlaftis becomes trade bait, and Jones can’t play forever.

Yep,.same as others I'd be very happy with 2 of our first 3 picks being DL. Maybe all 3. Then go RB and everything else is BPA. If it ends up netting a FS and LB, lovely stuff.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. It seemed ludicrous a week ago but now it’s possible. I’m thinking 2 of DL and a 2nd round RB.

Demarcus Robinson is available, right?

If he’s stoped making the boneheaded plays, he has big play ability in a limited role.

Me thinks it’ll be JJSS because he plays Rashee’s position and we know that will be needed for a month +.

I’d like D-Rob’s deep ability a lot though.

pugsnotdrugs19 03-11-2025 06:40 PM

Didn’t want him anyway.

If this offseason has proved anything...we aren't signing anybody near the age of 30.

I think they know we needed to get more athletic across the board... Wideout is no different. If we add a vet, I assume it'll be someone in the 25-27 age range.

We still don’t know Rice’s situation yet either. Can’t have two facing suspension.

With Omenihu, the floor for next year’s defense is last year’s defense.

Add a couple more impact guys on the DL and another DB in the draft, and we’re talking about an elite defense.

With that and the improvements on offense we can expect, this clearly looks like the best AFC team again.

RunKC 03-12-2025 10:56 AM

Chiefs need a bigger receiver who can block and provide juice. Absolutely need it as Rice insurance. It’s probably gonna be Juju, and that’s okay. Maybe Noah Brown?

I think the Chiefs need to draft a bigger WR who can fill that role (hello Jalen Royals).

With that and the improvements on offense we can expect, this clearly looks like the best AFC team again.

Exactly. Based on the strengths of the draft it would put us in position to bolster the team as best as you can hope to.

Reid’s loss won’t be felt IMO with Hicks, a healthier Cook, and Conner back there. So what are they really losing?

Offense is better just by nature of health and Jaylon Moore.

Yes sir. Definitely still a need to re-stock the DT shelves yet. Omenihu would be a welcome sight back.

Anyone like one of them?

Think I've had Rondale Moore in every mock I've done this year. I think he'd be a fun gadget guy for Reid. We all know how much he loves his little jitterbug gadget guys.

My top remaining FA wants (that haven't been signed to my knowledge)

DE Charles Omenihu
DT Bonito Jones (MIA)
WR Rondale Moore (ATL)
QB Drew Lock (NYG)

Cochrane and Nazeeh Johnson tendered RFA contracts. Hendershot, Malik Herring and Keith Taylor not tendered as RFAs making them unrestricted and able to sign elsewhere. Meaning KC will only bring them back for minimum contract and minimal guarantees if at all

Wouldn’t have a problem with the middle two. Yes all day on Charles O and yeah if they can’t bring back Wentz, Lock would definitely be fun to watch if Reid could get the most out of him.

Bears didn’t RFA tender LB Jack Sanborn. For vet minimum he’d be worth a shot to make camp competitive for a backup spot. Nothing special

Herring back now

Nazeeh tenderized. How should I feel CP?
