I like cottage cheese.

Thanks.

Pepe Silvia 03-24-2025 08:32 PM

With Strawberries or Peach's you bet.

Bump 03-24-2025 08:38 PM

I'll dip some tortilla chips in cottage cheese no problem

KCUnited 03-24-2025 08:41 PM

I like cottage cheese, 2% only, but the variance and consistency between brands is kind of frustrating. Sometimes it’s too tangy, or too soupy that I’m always let down

KCFalcon59 03-24-2025 08:41 PM

I love cottage cheese with pickle beats. It's amazingly delicious.

I had some for dinner tonight. I put it on baked potatoes and add fresh ground pepper.

Megatron96 03-24-2025 08:44 PM

Put some in a blender and whip til smooth. Makes a pretty good sour cream substitute.

And I've read that you can fry/bake it into a kind of flatbread.

I get most of my groceries at Costco these days and usually just get this. Sometimes it's delicious and sometimes it's too soupy, definitely inconsistent

Actually, really good.

Belfonte FTW. Usually go with the 1%, but 2% is acceptable as well.

I like these. They come with pineapple on the top, or raspberry, or peach. I also saw one when traveling that I think had blueberry on top, and I regret not buying it since I can't find it locally.

Still missing the dish washing gloves.

TinyEvel 03-25-2025 12:08 AM

I put it on pancakes with maple syrup.

Back in the 90s I was doing triathlons and Dave Scott was a champion Ironman who wrote a book on training and a lot of his meals included rinsed cottage cheese,

So I would dump it into a strainer and run cold water over it, turning it to loose curds. I guess the “saucy part” has most of the fat or something.

Mosbonian 03-25-2025 05:34 AM

Nothing better than Cottage Cheese with a salad....with peaches....

But always with some pepper on top.

displacedinMN 03-25-2025 06:38 AM

the 60's thing was cottage cheese on a lettuce leaf with a peach slice on top

Bearcat 03-25-2025 06:56 AM

I don't love it plain, but eat it fairly frequently with either everything bagel seasoning or pineapple.

Belfonte is one of the most consistent and one my favorites, as I've tried most

I raw dog a container of cottage cheese a week, straight from the container with maybe some fruit

I made the Highland 2% part of my daily lunch diet for years until the price made me jump ship a couple years and switch to avocados. I made good use of the containers when empty, handy as heck.

Now I have dropped them due to the price, lol. I am a believer in the consumer rejection of price increases.

Now the oranges, peaches and pears are the delicious replacement. :D

scho63 03-25-2025 07:41 AM

My mother ate it all the time, she loved it. I tried it once while she was eating it in my youth but didn't care for it. It reminded me of the texture of scrambled eggs, which I hated since a 2 year old. I think that is what turned me off.

Pepper and sunflower seeds in mine. Delicious.

Wisconsin_Chief 03-25-2025 08:28 AM

Good Culture has ruined other brands for me. Daisy is my backup, but a distant second.

Really just add some pepper, and it's an amazing healthy and simple snack. Also, if you've never tried the cottage cheese flatbread trend, it's pretty terrific. Way too time consuming for a dude like me, but I made a pizza out of it a few weeks back and it was absolutely delicious. Well worth the effort.

Soupy cottage cheese is the worst.

CatinKS 03-25-2025 08:33 AM

Braum's is the best. Though don't look at the calories. Just add a heavy dose of black pepper.

See how all of these tout the protein content or say 4% milkfat minimum? Because that's what you want. Go fat with cottage cheese.

Yes, that's the one. The 4% full fat organic is unbeatable, but even just the standard 4% is amazing. Like I said, it really has ruined other brands. Most of the time I will just pass if it's not on the shelf and pick it up next time I'm somewhere it's available. It's that good.

I haven’t read a 4% label lately, but the 2% I get has 12-15g or protein in half a cup... is 4% really that much more?

I don't mind the overall fat content, but go with 2% because it's half the saturated fat and still plenty of protein.

scho63 03-25-2025 09:31 AM
