Easy 6 03-25-2025 05:19 PM

NYG are on a Road to Nowhere

Go full on rebuild and abandon this garbage, mercenary Russ isn't taking you turds anywhere

PunkinDrublic 03-25-2025 05:20 PM

Daboll was coach of the year a few years ago, he’ll make it work!

Deberg_1990 03-25-2025 05:48 PM

Late career Russell Wilson or Late career Jamis Winston?

Hey, Jameis is only 31, that's not late career. He could still be slanging picks near a decade from now

Bump 03-25-2025 05:54 PM

lol, if I were a Giants fan I'd rather see Winston

By all means they should also draft Sanders to sit behind Russ and watch him cook, lol

Four SB wins. They've done alright for themselves prior to this spell.

BlackHelicopters 03-26-2025 12:04 PM

Epic mistake.

Wilson will probably make the Hall. Not first ballot, but he will get in eventually

ThaVirus 03-26-2025 12:24 PM

Prior to his last season in Seattle I’d have argued Russ was setting himself up for the Hall, but these last few years have really done a number on his legacy and I’m no longer sure he deserves it.

Megatron96 03-26-2025 12:28 PM

Just lol. Giants are going to be a dumpster fire. Again.

My personal belief is that he is not a hall of famer.

But they have lowered the bar in recent history and eventually someone will lobby hard enough for him to get in.

loochy 03-26-2025 12:37 PM

Better than Daniel Jones. Good God, that guy sucked so bad

He gets in for sure if not for that one throw in the SB against New England. Back to back SB wins looks strong for voters.

But he'll probably get in anyway.

On a related note, I just came across this interview earlier today. It was interesting hearing Pete and Richard Sherman talk about it.

Given the circumstances, calling a pass play there really did make great philosophical sense.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/cw90r7wWTsc?si=OSf4Os3BnPpxQqMi&amp;start=80" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It’s only like 5 minutes so I’d recommend giving it a listen, but if you’re not interested, Pete basically just says there was like :30 left and they only had 1 timeout. He knew he wanted to be able to use all four downs so they knew they’d need to pass the ball on at least one down. They sent out 11 personnel and Bill sent out the goal line package. If you look before the ball is snapped, it really would have been 8 defenders in the box vs only 6 blockers. Passing on that down made perfect sense.

Another interesting note, and what is more relevant to this conversation, is that Pete and Richard both agreed that if they’d have won SB 49, they’d have gone on to win SB 50 as well. Obviously that’s probably some wishful thinking but they really did look like a potential budding dynasty. Unfortunately that loss just fractured the whole team and their run pretty much ended there.

But yeah, if Russ doesn’t throw the INT there he is a first-ballot guy.

He really needed that ball to be thrown low. That one either needs to be caught by the Seahawks receiver or hit the turf.

It was too dangerous to attempt a pass there. Too much can go wrong unless you literally have a wide open man running into the end zone, like Moore/Toney against the Eagles in SB 57. Otherwise, there's a big risk of an INT. If you run and get stuffed, you call that final timeout.

Even in hindsight the play makes little sense.

Probably, letting Cleveland know that they will not pay anything to move up 1 spot. Both the Wilson and winston deals are really backup money if they do not hit incentives. Guessing if Cleveland passes on Sanders, Cleveland would like to stay in the top 4 and also get an extra pick.
